It would be easier to help you if you would give a few more details besides "it didn't work". What didn't work? Where did it fail? Error messages?

Not to sound rude, but you obviously did not do "a ton of research", as you would have read that GSM, Verizon and Sprint images are not compatible with the other devices.
You have no other option but Odin when you see the screen you are referring to. Try it again.

[Q] Model expert sph-d710 gt I9100 etc Wha?

There are several threads about sa vs gt and whether there are three versions etc.
Is anyone a model expert?
When my phone boots I get a gt I9100 splash (w yellow triangle - on fc18).
However once booted I go to about phone and it says sph-d710. A mod at Android Central said these are two different phones. What gives?
What are the SGS2 models? Difference?
I believe I9100 is the generic model number for all galaxy S2's but yes both are different phones. I9100 is generally referred as the original international galaxy s2
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
The gt-i9100 is the GSM international sgs2 the sph-d710 is the sprint epic 4g touch galaxy s2, they are 2 completely different devices in the same family. Your splash screen is like that from flashing a rom and increasing your download count thru Odin

Ok so I have a sph-d710 and the splash screen saying gt i9100 is just an image baked into the rom I flashed.
(And of course the yellow triangle is the increase my odin count. ): )
Good to know I might have flashed a wrong rom in the future for 9100.
The splash screen trips with the Odin count for some reason Idk what causes it I haven't gotten it yet but if you have a USB jig it will get rid of the gt i9100 splash, yellow triangle and reset the Odin count to 0

it trips it when u flash a modified kernel. ex: acs, repack, cwm. U can easily reset it with Triangle away, but it only works on ics roms

It only trips when.flashing thru Odin? Cuz i flashed a kernel in recovery and it hasn't shown up, I actually was kind of curious why my counter or the.triangle hasn't popped on me yet cuz I'm not real careful about preventing it, cuz i made a jig plus most damage to the device I can repair myself so I dont have insurance or TEP on it

That is correct, yellow triangle and ODIN Flash Count only increase when ODIN flashing a kernel not signed by samsung.
Auto Root, Mobile ODIN, and CWM do not trigger the yellow triangle nor do the increase the flash count.

[Q] Carrying dead T-mobile SII (T989) :(

Hi People,
I just murdered my T-Mobile SII (T989) :crying:
It was bright Saturday morning, was browsing through web, saw update on forums about official ICS update available for T-Mobile devices.
I have immediately and successfully updated my device to ICS, everything went well and was enjoyinh ICS. But, then the worm inside me yapped and from nowhere I started rooting the phone.
This is the moment it got killed and now I've dead device in my hand.
1. Buttons combo doesn't work.
2. Unable to get the device in download mode.
3. Phone is no longer getting detected on Laptop and throws (qhsusb_load / drivers not successfully installed.) error message.
4. Phone doesn't turn on at all.
I know it’s hard-bricked, but please tell me if there is any way to solve this?
Will JIG option work; if the device is hard-bricked?
I am based in India and sending phone for JTAG would be bit difficult, so kindly suggest if there is any way?

The jig is supposed to work in these type of situations.

I went through this and as far as I know the only way to fix is a jtag service. Or if you can jtag it yourself. I made a 301k USB jig and it doesn't work so jtag is the only option I know unless you warranty it.

send it to mobiletechvideos, they ship international.

Today, my friend, is great as I just got my previously hard bricked phone back from mobiletechvideos! They unbricked mine after I accidentally tried installing a different model gs2 rom to my phone (price is right fail music). If using the jig everyone recommended isn't working, definitely send it to them and they'll try to get your phone back to life!:good:

I'm still a pretty big noob when it comes to flashing stuff! I'm on gingerbread right now and am a little scared to death to flash anything :S then again the main reason I bricked out was because I attempted to flash a rom that was for a different galaxy s2. I'm still researching on how to safetly flash different roms and which ones work the best

A jig is a USB chord that you take the chord off and attach certain resistors(usually total 301k) to the micro USB connector. Then when u plug it into a phone it should force it into download mode. It however does not work for this phone.

People are saying this may be a pba problem.
Only PBA I know of is a bluetooth profile. What are you referring to?
I have the GSM Nexus so proceed with caution, but I'm wondering if they use the same types of files and folders. This is what I did to fix it when I accidentally wiped my IMEI:
cmstlist said:
Okay that was quick - solved it!
I believe the problem was that I'd restored the entire /data partition of my prior unit's backup including the /data/radio folder. Not a good idea! The solution was to copy the nv_data.bin and .md5 files from /factory and paste them to replace the incorrect ones in /data/radio. Now my IMEI is back!
Time to backup those files somewhere safe...

Don't try anything without backing up what you already have.
Just flash it to stock and play stupid. Then they will "factory data reset" it, because that fixes everything. Ha ha. No really, they'll give you a replacement.

if you can make a nandroid,
first off you need to download wugfresh's Gnex toolkit:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766475
second you need to install all the drivers if you haven't already.
then you need to choose your model type
after you will need to click on back to stock what it does is it resets everything, assuming your phone ant boot up choose not booting
once that is done you can choose the factory image which can be downloaded from Googles factory images or you can use the options provided
after that you follow all the steps provided in the tool kit. the tool kit is mostly automatic so it wont take allot of time.
once that is done you are back in stock and have lost everything but don't fret because you can root it again using the same tool kit.
quick point your phone still has an unlocked boot loader so don't worry about that.
once youve completed the above steps you should be back to your good old galaxy nexus home screen
Verizon won't warranty it because the sticker under the battery has turned colors. No water damage I just touched one day when I took out the battery my hands were slightly wet prob not smart lol. I know this wasn't the cause it has been 5 months the only thing damaged was the sticker and warranty. Yes I have the right ROMs installed I'm not a newb. This is like the same issue with the s3 I tried to use the qpst method but I can't even get the hidden menu to show on the phone clueless as to why. I just want to use my gnex as a beater phone when I'm out.

all i am getting is a QHS_USB dload driver not found. if i pull the battery and plug into the laptop i get a red light on and thats it. I used the stock rom tmobile .tar using odin. it passed and thats the last life i saw from my s3. any help is welcome thanks...T999UVALEM.TAR that is correct yes?
This is very odd. You say the flash finished and said pass. You have the correct tar file and even if you didnt, the phone/odin checks to make sure your using the correct file to flash. So I don't believe it would even let you flash the wrong image and if you tried the odin flash would fail and the phone wouldn't have rebooted itself. However QHSUSB_DLOAD is the kiss of death so you are definitely hard bricked. This is a real head scratcher.
Personally I would send it to Samsung and get it repaired under warranty. Apparently they are fixing these regardless of flash count due to the sudden death issue the gs3's are having. I would have to say thats what happened to you and the fact that you were flashing is a coincidence. Only because with the info you provided and the fact the phone has its own checks I cant see anyway this was caused by you flashing.
Thanks......I've been flashing for quite a while. My only concern is sending it modified with all my stuff still on or should I say in the phone.
