Possible brick - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I was flashing stock through odin ......everything passed and everything seemed fine and now it just sits with a black screen wont do anything. Tried every key combo wont power up no lights no nothing. Anyone else see this happen? Thanks

so, can it still boot up in recovery or download mode?

Nope......although I didn't try the hold and plug into the computer for download. This sucks ass. This is why I kept old faithful. Vibrant

all i am getting is a QHS_USB dload driver not found. if i pull the battery and plug into the laptop i get a red light on and thats it. I used the stock rom tmobile .tar using odin. it passed and thats the last life i saw from my s3. any help is welcome thanks...T999UVALEM.TAR that is correct yes?

This is very odd. You say the flash finished and said pass. You have the correct tar file and even if you didnt, the phone/odin checks to make sure your using the correct file to flash. So I don't believe it would even let you flash the wrong image and if you tried the odin flash would fail and the phone wouldn't have rebooted itself. However QHSUSB_DLOAD is the kiss of death so you are definitely hard bricked. This is a real head scratcher.
Personally I would send it to Samsung and get it repaired under warranty. Apparently they are fixing these regardless of flash count due to the sudden death issue the gs3's are having. I would have to say thats what happened to you and the fact that you were flashing is a coincidence. Only because with the info you provided and the fact the phone has its own checks I cant see anyway this was caused by you flashing.

Thanks......I've been flashing for quite a while. My only concern is sending it modified with all my stuff still on or should I say in the phone.

[Q] How screwed am I?

OK so here is the story...
I accidentally flashed the 2.3.5 firmware for the Samsung gs2 i9100 thinking it was for the sph-d710... Obviously that didn't work out very well. Now the phone won't boot. I can get it into download mode but odin will no longer recognize it. I have tried the i9100 drivers, and the sph-d710 drivers. No luck, it will boot into recovery mode also, but unfortunately because the firmware is for the i9100 which has an "ok" button and the sph-d710 doesn't I can't get it to do a hard reset. Short of dropping it in a bucket of water and using insurance is there anything I can do?
Yes I know I am a moron...
Well as for the ok button, have you tried using the home button instead? And have you ever used Odin before?

Boots into recovery mode only, but i cant select anything
ET4G
I did the exact thing as you did. The only difference is that I unplugged the USB connection which caused my phone to brick completely. The moment I realized I was using the wrong firmware I disconnected my ET4G. My phone was useless, I couldn’t boot up in Odin or recovery. What I did I took it to the Sprint store and I told them that I did not know what happened to the phone and they replaced my phone for free.
Honestly, I've flashed i9000 before and I'm sorry to say but youre screwed. Send it in to mobile tech videos for jtag repair. mine wouldn't boot or recognize at all for weeks untilI finally gave up.

Yeah i asked this before and what happenes is u lose your radio so odin cant read it..reply it

Bricked :(

I tired flashing back to stock using odin and now my phone won't even turn on let alone go to download mode. Can somebody help me?
letting us know the model number of your phone might help
SGH-T989
Get a USB jig.
make sure your battery is fully charged
boot it into download mode
if you can get it to show download mode, then you can use Odin again
what did you try to flash with Odin earlier?
my phone won't go into download mode or turn on.
I tried flashing a stock recovery file
does the screen light up at all?
When you flashed the recovery file did it finish or fail during the flash? If the cable is plugged in does the battery charge indicator pop up?
No the screen doesnt light up at all, and the flashing failed.
If you plug it into the computer and it says qhd-usb or something along those lines in device manager, it is shot. It will also make a noise (from the computer speakers) like you plugged it in twice.

So I'm screwed?
if flash failed and you turned off your phone(in download mode), you're screwed.
then again, i heard jtag method works..it'll cost ya but it'll work
Anyone know someone here reliable that does jtag??

Sounds exactly like what happened to me. I bought a USB jig off of ebay and it went striaght into download mode on first try. Even if it doesn't work for you, and it's possible it will, it's cheap to give it a shot.

[Q] Carrying dead T-mobile SII (T989) :(

Hi People,
I just murdered my T-Mobile SII (T989) :crying:
It was bright Saturday morning, was browsing through web, saw update on forums about official ICS update available for T-Mobile devices.
I have immediately and successfully updated my device to ICS, everything went well and was enjoyinh ICS. But, then the worm inside me yapped and from nowhere I started rooting the phone.
This is the moment it got killed and now I've dead device in my hand.
1. Buttons combo doesn't work.
2. Unable to get the device in download mode.
3. Phone is no longer getting detected on Laptop and throws (qhsusb_load / drivers not successfully installed.) error message.
4. Phone doesn't turn on at all.
I know it’s hard-bricked, but please tell me if there is any way to solve this?
Will JIG option work; if the device is hard-bricked?
I am based in India and sending phone for JTAG would be bit difficult, so kindly suggest if there is any way?

The jig is supposed to work in these type of situations.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda premium
I went through this and as far as I know the only way to fix is a jtag service. Or if you can jtag it yourself. I made a 301k USB jig and it doesn't work so jtag is the only option I know unless you warranty it.

OP, you had to of selected re-partion hard drive while flashing the custom recovery through Odin. If this is true there is no fix. Sorry. This destroys the boot partion and recovery nor download mode will work. Did you get a failed message through Odin?

Today, my friend, is great as I just got my previously hard bricked phone back from mobiletechvideos! They unbricked mine after I accidentally tried installing a different model gs2 rom to my phone (price is right fail music). I'm still a pretty big noob when it comes to flashing stuff! I'm on gingerbread right now and am a little scared to death to flash anything :S then again the main reason I bricked out was because I attempted to flash a rom that was for a different galaxy s2. A jig is a USB chord that you take the chord off and attach certain resistors(usually total 301k) to the micro USB connector. Then when u plug it into a phone it should force it into download mode. It however does not work for this phone.

Yes, I too hard bricked my t999 but funny thing is I've didn't flash any roms. so it seems that the common issue here is that u both downloaded MIUI from the same wepage... I would think a malicious download... and in all Honesty I had bad experiences the guy's tut.... (with the guy running the site) I dunno I dont want to point finger or nothing but 2 people with same problem?? I suspect treachery afoot... lol
scratch that... I scanned MIUI Zip file and it contained no threats... so I'm guessing a hardware mulfuction?? or simply u got a bad phone.
Try Samsung warranty since you can't get into download mode they shouldn't know it's rooted. I wouldn't say this is a user error since you didn't even flash a rom
