GS3 too slipery for you? try this - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

amazon.com/Dupli-Color-CLEAR-TOP-COAT/dp/B00407NK6A/ref=sr_1_22?ie=UTF8&qid=1345257540&sr=8-22&keywords=top+coat+spray+can
The back of my GS3 was too slippery for my liking, and I didn't really want to get a thin hard case, so I sprayed a thin layer of top coat onto the cover.
make sure to remove it from the device first, and tape a stick to it, so that it's easy to handle (you don't want fingerprints on it).
1 or 2 minutes later, that's all it needs to dry. enjoy!

Mine is too slippery, definitely, but I think I'd rather not spray paint it yet sounds like a neat concept though, kinda like that waterproofing technique they have for phones. Know any good cases for grip? I've looked around but most are too slick for me.

It's a clear coat spray. Looks factory... without the glossiness. I didn't post a photo... since it looks the same, just with a little more texture.

Or get a case. I use this. I'm not normally a case guy, but I like it. Makes the device grippy and feel like a tank.

Damn man, your making me want to send you a cruzerlite, Im totally not into cases also, and these cases are awesome. Not tank like, but raised lip for the screen, and grippy. I use the rootzWiki version atm, nice material.

I'm well aware of CruzerLite cases. They weren't available where I bought this, and I bought this to help out my local people. If I find myself dissatisfied over time I'll switch, but for now, I'm perfectly happy. I like the thing.

I'm using this case and could not be happier. It is not slippery at all, fairly rigid, has kickstand which is not obtrusive at all and costs only $6.95 with free shipping.

In have this case too. Love it. Not very thick. Just enough texture to make it easy to hold.

The back that came with my extended battery actually kind of helps my grip since it makes my hands fit around the back of the phone more!

This one looks awesome. The only thing that concerns me is that it doesn't look like there is much of a raised lip on the sides of the screen. I'd be worrying about dropping it on the screen.

i have the belkin bumper case and really like it. Here is a link:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0089QBAHE/ref=redir_mdp_mobile

I'm considering this because it shows off the deep blue color of the housing but I don't really like how it sticks. A matte coating may prevent this.

Aluminium case for Galaxy SII..

Searching for a good case for the Tmobile Galaxy SII...came across this in ebay..is this any good?linky
Note: Im' no way connected to this seller, just that havent seen many hard cases and from the pictures these seem to be nice
i doubt it, i have a feeling this case only wraps around the sides of the phone, and not not the corners or front bezel of the phone.
i had something like this for my iphone and it only collected dust in the back and made more scratches on the back of the phone
if you drop it, your phone is gonna get F'd, which beats the point of a case.
yeah it looks nice, but i highly doubt the phone will land directly on it's back, on the case
if you want a good case, just get any TPU case, they're cheap and they dont scratch your phone

Silver one with video review here.
OP, i was browsing on ebay and looking at that exact same one yesterday and i gotta say, although it looks nice and i was 2 heartbeats away from clicking buy, it isn't protecting much; other than the already safe rubberized battery cover.
I would love one that is the bumper wrap around found for the international SGS2.
Those are awesome looking.

Most cases are aesthetic anyway unless you drop your phone on a flat surface they are pretty much useless. Phone case looks great though.
Getting a metal case like this may impact your GPS and cell reception.

I've had one of these on my old vibrant. They're basically a clear hard plastic on the sides and is snapped on like the incipio feather cases. There is a slight indent in the back which is used for the aluminum "sticker" once the the aluminum is applied u won't see the indent and sits flush. The aluminum is a concentric pattern and pretty ugly in person. But that's my opinion.

I have to disagree with this. Most cases are meant to protect against daily activities. IE: Keys in pocket while walking, non caring when you put your phone down etc etc. Minor drops most cases will help against small dents and scratches as well. If a person is really worried about their phone dropping onto a hard service or really damaging it, then there are cases out there to help protect against such events. If things were aesthetic than people would just leave their phone on without a case.

Looking for a new case(Currently have smoke TPU)

So, I bought the smoked colored TPU case because matte black was sold out. I like the case because it's small and doesn't add more bulk to an already huge phone.
My problem is that it's very slippery, I'd like something a bit more grippy but do not want the full rubber cases, I had a case mate on my old phone and I sometimes it was a pain to take out and put in my pocket, it would just come off of the phone..
The matte black TPU I heard was good, but will it be as slippery as the one I have now.
This seems to have decent reviews:

Thanks, but the jack info is a deal breaker. I use my phone every time I get in my car with the Aux input. It's my source of music, taking the case on and off every single time would be a big hassle.
If I don't get more replies I'll take my chances with the matte black TPU.

I use the above case. It does not add a whole lot to the phone as far as size or weight goes. The kick stand seems pretty sturdy as well. The rubber on the outside gives the user the ability to grip the phone without worry of having it slip through your hands. The buttons on the case protrude a bit making them easy to find by touch.
All in all a great case and it looks good with the white GS3.

You can also possibly pick this phone up at AT&T as I almost did - Unfortunately, I didn't think the kickstand was very sturdy and winded up passing on it. I believe it is either $30 or $35 at the store I went too.

LOL, looks like I got ripped off! Haha. I purchased mine about a week ago and I'm not even sure if it's left china.. Scratch that, shipped through LA today. Should be here in a day or two and I'll take pics. Don't know if I'll have my phone by then or not though! Haha.
I used the case mate on my Epic 4G touch and it worked well BUT it is not slim, I tried the one for the S3 and it is just as fat. Obviously it depends on your opinion of what is fat or not but I felt like it was fairly bulky. I currently am thinking of getting a tcp speck case from AT&T and attaching a flygrip to it. If I do that I'll post again. Even though I have Verizon it seemed like the AT&T stores had best selection of cases around me (versus Sprint and Verizon plus a couple case stores, just fyi).

Sexy A$$ blue metal case

I just got this case in today. It is basically a really sexy blue brushed metal barely there case. It clips into place very securely and the cut outs are perfectly located. I posted below the ebay page to order it, I will post pics of my phone it soon.
The cons are a) that it is a little bit slippery compared to incipio surface case.
b) The power button is a little bit harder to access.
c) It does not offer the protection of a dual layer case on the top screen side. The frame only wraps slightly past
the screen glass. If it fell directly on theglass it would not offer the protection that a incipio surface case offers.
Pros: Beautiful color and finish, sleek and visibly appealing, lightweight and comfortable in you hand. Really show off the pebble blue version.

REAL metal ones make NFC impossible, and lower cell reception very noticabley (a bar or 2).
Pained metal ones, interfere with NFC, and seem to be just slightly noticeable for cell receptions (1-2 dB)

They're both the same case and are not actually metal. Just a plastic with a brush metal finish. Looks good but is quite fragile.

It is a hard plastic, but it is firm and very sturdy. Not fragile at all.

Can you post pictures, also the inside on the case
(pictures) Someone has beaten me to it...
The inside has a felt lining, extremely sturdy and fits perfectly. Also has some rope detail around the camera cuts outs. Looks really sweet. I have had numerous comments on the case and should work perfectly with the new sgp curved glass protector.

Why did you pay $17 for it?:0 the case usually run up to $9 only. I think you should contact the seller and tell him its not as described because its not metal. Chinese sellers most of the time will refund you and let you keep the product.

That was the "buy it now" price, and time was limited. Compared to the $25-$30 incipio cases I figured it was an okay price.
I really like the case, so I will bid on the next one.

I got this from ebay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/160907044893...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_3659wt_1163
It's pretty cool, the texture feels like fine sand paper which makes it really easy to grip. I recommend this type of case for people with small hands like myself.

Yeah that's a great case , excellent feel fits well but the exposed bezel at top & bottom worried me a tad.
I picked up a cruzerlite on amazon to hold me over until the real cases come out. Downfall is the cruzerlite doesnt play well with my screen protector

Never had to, usually at&t has plenty. They actually blamed it on Hurricane Sandy, said interrupted deliveries.
I got a cheap one for 7 off ebay & ordered the Samsung White Note 2 case from mobilecityonline.com for $19.99. I'm going to not go case crazy like I did on the SGS3.
i don't normally get a case since i usually hate most that ive had, but i actually love the samsung tpu case. it is super thin, good coverage, rubber sides, plastic back that resembles what the phone looks like underneath, and lip that goes over the screen. you can get it 50% off on samsungs website with the coupon code, so $15. totally worth it.

its thin enough that you may mistake it for there being no case on there at all, just like the samsung tpu cases for the GS3. heres a thread with lots of pix and review for it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970161

This is why I always wait a bit to purchase my electronics. It makes everything easier to have a bit of patience.
Why does everyone dislike the flip cover case? It seems like decent protection and not bulky at all?

I can't speak for everyone but I know a disadvantage is that it blocks the notification light, making it useless to have.

Seriously, I might give it a go. As long as you can leave the flip cover folded over the back of the device for the times you want to be able to see the led notification then I should be fine. But I dont plan on getting a screen protector and for throwing it in my pockets or laptop bag the flip cover might do its job in protecting the big screen.
