Media library is empty - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Both music and gallery library are empty. What I tried so far:
Clearing data from media storage
Forcing a resync with some app
Looking for a .nomedia folder with ES file explorer, no result
Flashing(without formating) the rom over itself
What are my next option? I'd like not to have to format it, but if I have no choice I will. Thanks

did you update rom manager?
if so, look for the .nomedia file on the root of /sdcard/

Try uninstalling ROM Manager updates then clear media data and reboot. Wait about 30 minutes.

I have this same issue. I even did a full wipe and flashed another ROM.
What did you do to fix it?

There was to many threads like this... sigh
Next time, do a search before posting
Solution:
Update to latest Rom manager
Delete .nomedia file from sdcard root directory, nothing else.
Clear Media Storage data
Reboot
Done
Media Storage looks like the screen shot

No, that one is suppose to be there. Also, in the previous steps after you reboot, you have to give it about 10 minutes or so to populate the media storage before you do anything.

Yes your right, but from what I've heard, it's not a big of a deal, because apparently android system creates the nomedia file again later on.

Anyone know what app handles the 611 redirection ? Thought it would be 411 & more, but I got rid of that and 611 still redirects.
In case anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about, try calling 611 (customer service) - the phone actually drops to another app that turns on the speaker and talks to you there - it's OBNOXIOUS.

If you use terminal, you problably have root acces.
Search market, or google, because I cant post it here.
Search ROOT EXPLORER, install it, give it root acces, and copy the file to /system/app then install it and reboot.

Gallery app not working

How would someone go about getting the gallery app to show old pictures again. I'm willing to flash or restore or anything. The problem stays no matter what ROM or nandroid I have tried.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I'm gonna need a little more detail on your problem. Is your gallery app crashing? Or is it just not showing some of the pictures you have on your phone?
1) If the app itself is crashing, uninstall it with Titanium Backup and flash a version of Gapps that is compatible with your ROM
2) If it isn't showing files that you know for sure are on your phone's storage and are uncorrupted, try downloading and running an app called SDRescan from the Play Store.
3) If you deleted pictures and the Gallery isn't showing them, you're out of luck, unless you made a nandroid backup before the files were deleted.
Its number 2 the file path is correct for previously taking pictures and they show up in root explorer but not in the gallery
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
In that case, you should try SDRescan, it basically forces the phone to rescan the SD card for media files, if for some reason the phone is not automatically doing it.
For any media not showing up, back up the files themselves in a separate folder in the internal storage named anything random. Delete the original folder and contents. Reboot and recreate all folders you deleted, just as they were. Move copied content back to respective folders. Reboot once more. See if all of your media shows up properly.
My guess is you did what I did. Backed up stuff to your PC and moved all the folders back to your internal. Seems to cause issues for Android when trying to scan the folders for media. Not sure why. I spent most of today correcting this after receiving my replacement Nexus.

I tried to use sdrescan but it just says processing for ever. This happened when flashing a new ROM. It was messed up in the flashed ROM then when I restored to a previous ROM that was working it stopped working there as well.

Mine's not working either. I have a ton of pictures I took last night in Las Vegas on the strip, they're all in my DCIM>CAMERA folder, but will not appear if trying to view them in the gallery app. I tried the app mentioned above, no luck. Also I tried copying all the images in DCIM into a new folder I created on the /sdcard, deleted the DCIM folder, rebooted, snapped one shot with camera to re-create DCIM, and only that image shows in gallery. Didn't have this issue until I flashed the latest CM9 nightly. So, clearly I need help also to try to resolve this... Errgh.

If SDRescan did not work for you, I can only think of 3 other possible solutions.
1) Go into Settings, find the App settings, and clear data for Gallery then reboot.
2) Transfer all of your files to your PC and delete them from your phone. Rename all of the files (you can rename them all at once by selecting all the files, right clicking on one, and clicking rename) and then drag them back onto your phone.
3) Try installing a different gallery app. I have had good results with these two:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zcC5zbWFydGdhbGxlcnkuZnJlZSJd

Missing entire "0" directory with files when on 4.2+

Of course not when you use a 4.2 or 4.3 rom google new thing is multi user so it creates and emulated folder which it moves everything into. Since all TW roms are still 4.1 they do not do this. It's there it's all there you just need to find it. Having an external storage or not has nothing to do with it.
Remember search is your best friend, Have a great day!
I have searched everywhere for all of my files and folders from 4.1 on my SD card and it doesn't exist unless I go back to 4.1. I even searched using my laptop for it and that data just doesn't exist while I'm on 4.1

You should post a screenshot of what your storage folders look like. Here's what mine looks like. I easily go back and forth from 4.1 to 4.2 to 4.3. If you aren't showing sd0, then your internal got moved. This happened to me the 1st time I flashed 4.2, I forgot to backup contents of sd0 before flashing 4.2 rom. I had to go back to previous TW backup, backup sd0 to computer, then flash 4.2 rom, then restore sd0 to internal. This worked fine for me.

once again, you don't provide much information. it wouldn't be too surprising, and in this case my first guess, that the filemanager you are using is displaying wrong information based on its assumption that the transfer was successful. this could cause the wrong (cached) list of files to be loaded each time, unless the phone gets restarted…

The initial root file system is a RAM disk. If you create folders or add files to /, they are wiped-out after a reboot. You could hack the RAM disk to add your folder but it would be easier to just create a file in /system and plop your music files in there.
