Has anyone tried Rootkeeper with this OTA? If so, can you provide feedback on the results?
A couple of weeks ago, I went on Sammobile and installed a leaked OTA that I thought didnt carry any problems with until now. I Installed the UVLI1 verson. Now yesterday, I just found out that I will not be able to get any OTAs from T-Mobile since my modem number is changed. So I tried to Install the UVALH2 update so I can get back on the offical modem but its not letting me install it! Im 100% stock. No root or anything. I need help please.

One more noob question.... How do you know if your phone is unrooted? I Flashed the previous update and cleared my cashe and wiped my data and now my device status is normal. does that mean that im not rooted anymore?
Glad you're learning some of the basics but you should definitely read before you start going to sammobile and installing leaks. You should be glad that your phone isn't bricked.

Learning is what happens when you do something that you don't have the knowledge to do. If I said I knew what I was doing before I started flashing, I would be a liar. That being said, a smart person learns from other people's mistakes. Read a lot.
It's simple. Basically, never flash anything that isn't made for the SGH-T999. And if using Odin, always use PDA.
Since you are rooted, get Terminal Emulator from the Play Store. Run it, and type: su <enter> reboot nvbackup <enter>. This will backup your IMEI data, so it can be restored should it ever become corrupted. You will only need to do this one time.
Follow these instructions, and it's pretty much impossible to hard brick.
You want to check root status? Why do you need another app from the Play Store? Just open Superuser/SuperSU. It will tell you if the binaries are present/updated. Though, the presence of a su app is generally indicative that you have root access.
It says it was released on December 22. It doesn't appear to have been pushed to devices yet.
I am at work so I can't check. Here is the link:
http://www.mylgphones.com/sprint-lg-optimus-g-lg-ls970-firmware-update-ls970zv9.html
It was mentioned last week that the source for the release is it already. If you missed it here is that link.

Freegee will relock bootloader. Not sure about root. Maybe AIO?
Edit; The supersu app says it'll unroot, but not sure if it works.
Edit 2: Ok just checked...binary`s root has an unroot option. Not sure which version AIO was built with. Link here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31545627

Now I'm scared to update. LOL Na I'll wait for a Jellybean Upgrade.
Has any one tried to install the zip from LG just using recovery yet? Or is it not setup like that. They say you have to use the tool and your PC, but I assume thats for all the "regular" users that don't play mind games with their phones lol.

Well if you have a custom recovery, then it may or may not flash. Some users tried to take it and got a status 7 error, while others took it to remove the notification and (hoping it would error out) were suprised to find it go through and it removed their root. The only difference with this update really is the firmware, but you can find flashables of those in freezas stock rooted thread

First off, the unpleasantness: This topic has been covered in many, many threads. Please run a search (or scroll through the threads for 10 minutes) and you'll most likely find your answer.
Ok, now for your answer:
Are you still using the stock recovery or do you have a custom one (CWM or TWRP)?
If you're on stock, you *should* be able to run the update. I'd recommend going back to Stock Rooted before updating, though.
If you're on CWM, you can try running the update. It works for some people running CWM, not for others. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason why it works for some and not others.
If you're on TWRP, you can't run this update, but you can run the update files given by Freeza in his thread. If you just want to keep your ROM with the newest baseband, run the file "MB1 Firmware/modem/baseband update."
Hope the helps!

So I am assuming you have an AT&T S3. If so are you currently running 4.1.1? If so it probably recognized that there is an update to 4.1.2...or it was just randomly checking.

I am on 4.1.2 and there are no other current updates that I know of. The AT&T software update may have been simply polling the server to check for one. I am not really sure. I have disabled the app service with TiBu so I don't have to worry about it.
Well I clicked on it and it said there is an update available, im afraid to download because this is not stock its modified stock. Can I just remove the update app using titanium backup?
