Lost 3G or Internet connectivity [SOLVED] - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi every, I've installed this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774165 and I lost my Internet connection. I call my service provider and they say all is fine so the problem is in my phone. Any ideas?
Thanks

You likely need to check your APN settings.
Google <Your Service Provider Name Here> APN Settings.
Also, just to make sure, did you do a FULL WIPE before installing the ROM? I am using the same ROM and have never had problems with internet, not has the problem been commonly reported by others in the ROM thread.

my baddddd I've the Data Connectivity off and for that reason my Internet isn't working .. anyway thanks for your time and for your help. One last question with FULL WIPE you mean wipe data/cache right?

Yes, factory reset in recovery - that is needed when changing ROMS. Make sure to backup any data you will need.
Also don't forget the Thanks button

[Q] No 3G connection with Cyanogen CM7 Gingerbread

This question should probably be in the thread for the rom.
The 3G connection is not working with Cyanogen CM7 build 32.
It was working with leedroid 2,3d.
Anybody got a clue?
Too bad that i need 10 posts before i can ask that question in the developer thread and report bugs.
I just flashed the latest radio without any better results.
This thread is correct to stay HERE..NOT in dev section, thats why the 10 posts rule
U should open a thread in dev section only if You developed something..
About the 3g connection, it works fine on my phone on latest cm7...maybe poor connection in ur location, i dont know

That was not an alternative. But i received a bootloop on the phone after installing a theme. Full wipe and clean cache + dalvik.
Then it works!
It´s working now after a clean of dalvik cache and manually set APN under network settings.

Doesn't Cyanogen have it's own forums? Surely you'd be better off there?

Same issue.
I am having the same issue. What do you mean by "manually set APN under network settings."?
Thank you.
Some APN settings from CM7 are not correct. You might need to manually enter these settings. You can usually find your carrier's APN settings either on their website or by calling them.
In CM7 go to settings, wireless & networks, mobile networks, then Access Point Names. You must delete anything listed by clicking on each one individually then clicking menu and choosing delete. Then you can add your settings by clicking menu then add on the main access point names screen.
Hope that helps!

APN
I added the apn manually and it fixed the issue for me. I had the same problem on leedroid btw.
Thanks.
I'm having the same issue, I was going to try and clear the settings but in my ver. of GB I have nothing to clear, it list, "Data enabled" "International data Roaming" National data roaming" and "System select, Home, Affiliated, auto"
The first three are check boxes only, nothing else, is there another way to reset?
Thx
I also had 3g problem with defy and cm7, Fixed
I found an app in the app drawer called baseband switcher. I simply had to open the app, set it to US Tmobile and reboot. I set the default apn to tmobile and now I have 3g/hspa.
Of course I didn't notice this baseband switcher app until after I wiped the phone twice trying to fix this issue
I hope I can save someone else the time and hassle of reloads and reboots and apn renames.

Cannot Connect to Mobile Data

Good day Gentlemen and Ladies,
So, as you the title states I cannot connect to mobile data (3g). (Before posting this I had done my research trying to find a solution and I cannot find any solutions) Let me tell you a little bit about my Galaxy Nexus SO originally when it was purchased it was a yakjuxw and I flashed to stock yakju-4.0.4 by this methodI can not link the video atm as I am a noob here) (I am sure that I did not skip any steps). I updated to android 4.2.1 all OTA updates and since that day I cannot connect to mobile data. I am pretty sure this is a software issue unless its a coincidence that my device fails on me at this point in time. Everything worked fine before i flashed it. I have tried going into *#*#4636#*#* and making sure my network type is correct as well as the radio band as automatic. I tried rebooting the device, I turned on mobile data and waited for +2hours for it to connect and nothing. I am sure I did not reach my mobile data limit as it is the beginning of my billing cycle. So, if anyone has any solutions would you be kind enough to give me a link or instructions on how to fix this problem. I recently also got double my data free of charge (from my provider) and I can't even use it Lol... Thanks!
1. Settings -> About Phone -> See your baseband? Does it exist or does it say Unknown?
2. Attempted to reset APN?
3. Tried your SIM card in another phone? Does data work on that phone?

Man you are a genius thank you. It was an APN problem. I think when I flashed it the server # and port # went missing or something so I added those and 30 seconds later it is all working! Thanks again my friend. And for anyone who has this in the future you can access you APN settings->more...->mobile networks->Access Point Names (and APN vary on provider)

[FIXED] Mobile data doesn't work with custom ROMS

Hello,
I purchased the new Nexus 7 LTE last friday. The very next day I unlocked, rooted, and installed the ElementalX kernel (with the stock ROM) . All worked well.
Sunday I tried installing a ROM (IceCold). It ran fine, and I was on wifi, so everything was working. Until I go out of my house. Mobile data was not working at all. I later reflashed stock, and did a factory reset. Mobile data worked again.
I thought it might just be the ROM, so I decided to instead flash P.A.C Nightly 4.3.1 with default kernel, and again, same issue. The mobile data icon is grayed out, unless I connect to wifi, and then it goes back to the blue color.
I have tried everything I could think of:
Restore stock recovery, kernel, and ROM.
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ya'll.
Bump
Does no one have the same problems? Could this just be me missing something?
You are probably using a rom for flo Devices that do not have lte or 3g connectivity. Only use roms from the "nexus 7 (2013) LTE Android Development" forum!

It could be that the custom ROM you are trying does not include the APN for your carrier. Go to Settings -> More -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names. You will need to find the correct APN settings for your carrier. You could copy them down while you're on stock, or look them up online.

No, I checked this. The first ROM I tried installing wouldn't install because of it being for flo devices. However the next two were both made for deb devices. So that wasn't the issue. Thanks though.

This does make a lot of sense, could it be it's not reading the Sim correctly perhaps? I'll be sure to try this when I get the chance.
Most APN settings are easily found with search of the carrier name and APN. You may have to enter these manually.
Did you try mobile data before rooting and installing a ROM/Kernel?

Data worked before during stock, and when I had a custom Kernel with the stock ROM. So the cause definitely had something to do with the ROM. After I reset everything (relocked and unrooted) it still works. I am redoing the unlock and root as I type this, and I will hopefully get a ROM installed and check to see if the APN settings really were the problem

Well that's good news. The only reason I asked was to make sure it wasn't possibly hardware related.

Note 2 No data coverage after 4.3 update?

Just upgraded to 4.3 today but my data services don't seem to function well. Can someone please help me?
Same problem here..
Looks to be an issue with TWRP, have either of you tried the latest CWM recovery? I was hoping to avoid it since my nandroid backup was TWRP (I'm honestly not sure if there's a difference) but a few posts in the main threads are reporting a similar thing.
EDIT: Nope, same issue, at least for omnirom.
I take that back, it does work.
Go to Settings - Network Connections - More Networks - Mobile Networks - Access Points Names
Check and see if you have the APNs from your provider, they usually are 3 ([Provider] Internet, [Provider] WAP, [Provider] MMS - in my case). Make sure [Provider] Internet is selected. When I usually re-install some ROMs, the WAP APN is selected by default and that will show me the 3G data icon but it will not let me access internet resources with my data services.
If by any chance you are missing the Internet APN, search a bit on the internet for your provider APN settings for internet access.
Hope this works.

It just acts like there's no SIM card at all. I don't understand it completely, but CWM is doing something that TWRP is not (or vice versa) and is causing this issue. Took my 7105T from virgin vanilla stock to the omnirom 4.4.2 nightlies yesterday and when I flashed from CWM the issue was resolved.
That said though, I'm unsure how this will affect omnirom's updates so I might need to switch to cyanogenmod. Shame, because I do prefer TWRP.

H2o wireless already took my money but told me I needed to unlock it, even though I can't unlock a CDMA phone. im so confused because it is quad band and has sim card slot but no one can unlock it and I cant find how to flash to h20

[Q] Anyone have resolution to "No Mobile Data" issue on Galaxy S3 AT&T?

I've tried flashing different roms, modems, changing APN and mobile network settings, etc. Can't seem to get it to work. Everything else works just fine on 4.2.2, including cell and mms. Just no data.

It's PlatinumTel (PTEL), which is a t-mobile mvno. I should note that i have the bootloader and the modem matched, have tried factory resets, and even downgraded to previous version (before updating bootloader to latest so i don't brick). Ptel tells me i need to update my APN, which basically was their standard msg... no help there. Thanks.

BTW, at least on my phone, the mobile data icon doesn't even show. Not even 3G or whatever... thanks for your help.
RESOLVED!
Ugh. So after countless flashes, resets and wipes, turns out that PTEL needed to do a Data RESET on their end. So much misery for such a simple solution that they could have given me. If you're a PlatinumTel user, and this may apply to many other providers, please try telling them to reset their data service for you before trying anything else. Hopefully you won't go through the misery and time wasted that i have gone through.:cyclops:

All of them are stock but I personally chose upndwn4par - Full - Features : Odexed, Rooted, Knox Removed because I really didn't know what the other ones did. (PLEASE NOTE : Neither the developer or I are responsible if you brick, or mess up your phone! This also deletes everything on your phone so do backup if you want to save your important files.) When it finished downloading, I put the file on my phone's internal storage (SD card works too) then went into recovery mode using TWRP and installed the rom onto my phone, then while I was still on TWRP, I deleted the cache and data, it then reboot and then I had to set up my phone as if I had just bought it.

THIS NEEDS TO BE PROCLAIMED!
PTEL locked us out of voice once before, which also required a reset. That was also with a phone change so maybe a security measure? Never thought about it happening with data.
So many hours wasted.
On calling, the PTEL CSR first reset the data, then helped with a new APN. Note that even with the correct settings in an existing APN and the data connection freshly reset, the phone (SGN3) refused to connect, even after a reset. Added APNs had to be deleted, then a new one created, which then connected immediately. (Pissed and happy at once.)
Thanks, @geesedude, for this info; wished I'd found it sooner. (Have to stop assuming that if it doesn't work, must be something I'VE done.)
Glad that the information helped you. Yeah, i mean... since we mess around with our phones, we always first assume it's something we did, which really can't be blamed for thinking that way. Like you, i searched the web for a solution and it was out of desperation that i called ptel, and the CSR happened to suggest it (they were out of ideas, too), and it happened to be the solution. Not sure why they have to do this in the first place, but i am guessing that there are stricter guidelines from TMobile for the MVNOs, and they have to do some things manually. At least now i know to contact them first before spending hours searching for something that may not exist!
