[Q] How to disable special accent characters in text messages? - HTC One X

I have HTC One X international version. I changed android language to Polish (because I live in Poland;p) and now I would like to disable special accent characters in text messages. I know this option is located in Messages > Menu > Settings > Text messages (SMS) > SMS characters, but it is only visible when English language is set. When I change language to Polish, it is gone.
Is it possible to make this option available when Android language is set to Polish?
I am using stock ROM (2.17.401.2).

special characters in sms bug?

hi!
is there any fix or something to remove special characters from sms?
im from Portugal and for example the word "já" if i type it with the accent in the "a" it ocupies 90 charecters from the 160 sms limit.. but if i type the word "ja" without the accent in the "a" it only occupies 2 characters.. what a weird bug..
im using cm7 with go sms and swift kb..
is there any way to skip the accents special characters etc?
for example if i write the word "não" it automatically changes to "nao" to skip the chars..
thanks all

yes there is. you need to use htc_ime mod. it is an improved version of stock htc keyboard.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=663608
read this post, so u will know what to do
it installs as a regular apk.
other options are:
-3rd party SMS application with that option
or
-if you use swype then you would have to find a ASCII version
thanks.. isto use swift and i love it.. dont want to get back to htc ime mod :x
well i will search for more info.. in last option i have to go backup to htc ime. :x
thanks

cyanogenmod 7 support lang

Hello I'd like to ask if cm support Greek language. Thanks.
I'm almost certain that it does.
Does it support Greek SMS keyboard with auto Capital Letters so you can send 160chars in sms? Or you go with 70chars using unicode? The original rom now, when you send SMS it auto converts what you write to Gr Capital letters so it can fit 160chars in each sms.

I'm guessing that you actually mean "auto-correct" rather than T9 (T9 is a specific method of typing text using the number keys of a standard phone keypad). You can manage its state at Settings --> Language & Input. Tap on the settings button next to Android Keyboard. At the top you will have "Input Languages". Click on that and you can select what language to use. Scroll to the bottom and you can change the Auto correction options.
Hope this helps.

Smart text selection with other languages

Hi, I'm currently using a Pixel 2 XL in Italian, is there anything I can do without changing the system language to English US in order to enable the Smart Text selection from the recent app menu in Android Pie?
