So I've installed a JBesque 4.0.3 ROM via the x-tools CWD recovery. I did the system wipe and everything then iknstalled the rom, and all I get is the sony loop screen..I can't seem to get into recovery
L15i
bootloader locked
is there a way to solve the loop problem? How could I reflash?
Please help
Did you flash an kernel specified for the rom?
just flash an 4.0.3 firmware
next time do this when flashing an ROM
1. wipe data / factory reset
2. wipe cache partition
3. wipe dalvik cache
4. install from .zip (rom)
and you say you have a locked bootloader, you might wanna check if the rom requires an unlocked bootloader

no, i accidently forgot to flash the kernel acrually, lol.
would you mind telling me how to flash the firmware? I tried via flashtool but it didnt work..
First of all, switch off your mobile and press back button then connecting the usb cable..Now your mobile should connect in flash mode by which you can flash any firmwares using flashtool!
Cheers!
Don't forget - you need to unlock bootloader if you want to install custom kernel.

i have rooted my htc one x
every time when i tries to install any custom rom into it and when i boot first time one error continuously shows "unfortunately com.android.phone stopped" i have also tried to reboot it again but the same problem remains
i have tried cm 10.1 RC5 and jellybam stable and many more roms , but the same problem remains always ..
help me plz
Are you sure you flashed the boot image and wiped everything properly (as described in most ROM's threads)?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
that problem will mostly occur if you are installling a rom in unclean way..
make sure you do superwipe and before flashing rom flash its boot.img and do- "fastboot erase cache" afterwards
then flash it from recovery

most of the people here know the procedures. give us information that will help you solve the problem. like is your phone already rooted. the steps you do when flashing. like what did you really do before that error appears. something like that.

yes my phone is already rooted . i have also taken the backup of m stock rom . i have tried to install custom rom for 3 to 4 times but every time when i installs custom rom and when i boot it the above problem occurs so i restore my system with the backup , and that original stock rom is working fine
for flashing i have followed this :
1) unlocked bootloader
2) rooted it
3) installed clockwork recovery mode
4) now transfer the custom rom into the internal memory
5) reboot phone into bootloader mode
6) select "recovery"
7) wipe data/factory reset
8) wipe cache partitions
9) wipe dalvik cache
10) install zip from sd card-->choose zip from sd card-->select the rom
11) select yes
12) after installing the rom reboot the phone
and when the phone will rebooted the problem occures when the ui of new rom appears

you do not need to root, flash custom recovery and unlock the bootloader everytime.
you did not flash the rom's boot.img. everytime you flash rom or kernel dont forget to flash boot.img. place the rom's boot.img inside your fastboot folder. then do the command:
fastboot erase cache.
fastboot flash boot boot.img.
then reboot.

yeah. you still have to that. extract the boot.img from the rom. place the boot.img inside your fastboot folder. boot your phone into bootloader. it you see fastboot usb you can now flash the boot.img.
open command prompt. navigate to your fastboot folder or you can just right click on the fastboot folder and select "enter comman prompt here" something like that. then enter this commands.
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash boot boot.img
that's two different command.

it does'nt matter it you flash boot.img before of after. but me i always flash boot.img first. because if you flash the rom first. you'll boot your phone to recovery then after you flash rom you'll boot to bootloader, where you will press power button + vol down. while if you flash boot.img first. after that just go to hboot then select recovery then flash rom. well that's just me. hehe.

I installed TWRP recovery but when I factory reset / wipe data, dalvik, data, system it doesn't format the system
You can try another recovery through odin, if it fails flash stock rom through odin. Make sure you flash one which is as least as new bootloader. Then start from square one.
Witch version of TWRP do you use ?
To do full wipe I use Zoot Wipe script, but be careful it remove everything :

Hi folks,
can i go straight to this? my tab is rooted. IF i was to unroot then download the full rom from google, and flash the system, recovery and boot, would this be ok, what i mean is, it doesnt have to be iterative to the latest version does it?
What I did was the flash the bootloader 4.05 and Scrosler's Stock Rooted Busybox 5.1.1 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013/development/rom-stock-rooted-5-1-1-lmy47v-root-t3098137. Follow his instructions or if you want to dirty flash, use TWRP to first wipe the 2 caches, flash the bootloader and then ROM, wipe caches again and boot to system. The first boot is very long.
You need to flash the bootloader as well since it got updated.
No need to unroot, you're flashing the system image..
Bootloader boot and system will do it, I'd recommend a clean install though. Flash all partitions or run flashall file letting it wipe the tablet.
ok thanks folks. didnt realise the bootloader had to be done too. I guess this also applies to my N5 when im updating that too?
SO .... if i was making instructions to flash my devices for future updates, would the following suffice?
dont unroot
dont remove TWRP
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-hammerhead-hxxxxxxxx.img
fastboot flash radio radio-hammerhead-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.img (do i need to even do this?)
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
boot to recovery and wipe dalvik cache
scrosler's ROM is standard 5.1.1. The beauty of it is that your phone will be rooted and busybox installed (with a trim). Just use TWRP to wipe whatever partitons you want (the 2 caches and also data if you want a clean install), then add bootloader and then ROM zips to the queue. Install them, then wipe the 2 caches again and boot to system. You might have to install SuperSu again from Play Store but you will be rooted.
It couldn't be simpler
Device information:
I got my Note2 (GT-N7100)
Android version: 6.0.1 (CM13 by Ivan Meler)
Recovery: latest CWM
N7100XXUFND3
Thing is i got unfindable bootware/rootkit on the device that keeps up even after flashing a new rom.
I searched the web and xda on flashing everything to get the device totally unmodified again.
Now i got the last Odin and Adb ready but i'm uncertain where to start.
Think i need to flash it all from the bootloader off. and use the 'Nand Erase All' function?
I don't dare to trial-and-error which might brick.
A question i have:
1. Where to start to flash everything from scratch?
2. Can i lock the bootloader again after?
Try wiping the system, data, and cache with CWM. Boot into download mode, flash a stock ROM from sammobile.com, perform a factory reset after flashing, reboot.

Already proceeded this steps. Without succes.
My idea was i need to flash more. When i see the options in Odin i can do more.
Like Pit (repartition)
Like Phone (?)
Like CSC (?)
The stock rom flashes in Odin without any errors? Can you get into recovery after flashing with Odin?
I unlocked the boot loader & installed TWRP
I tried to install official Lienage 7.1.2 after flashing & wipe cache then restarting screen went black with long vibration & blue notification led

Flash twrp via fastboot.
Boot to twrp via
Fastboot boot twrp.img
Replace "twrp" with the file name of your twrp.
Once twrp booted, go into reboot menu. And reboot to recovery again. That will make your phone boot again into twrp, but this time with more rights.
Go into wipe. Advanced wipe
Change data partition file system to ext4.
Reboot again into twrp via the reboot menu ,just like before.
Now go into wipe again, and format system, data, dalvik and cache.
Flash your rom.
Flash gapps (if not otherwise stated by ROM thread)
Flash Magisk (optional, if you want root)
Wipe dalvik and cache.
Reboot. And enjoy

We only have one bootloader.
We have different firmwares though like nougat and marshmallow.
You will need Firmwares S244 for nougat ROMs.
That firmware must be flashed through ota. Stockrom-feature. Simply using twrp does not count as doing otas.
Basic starter things: Have Firmware S244 or S251 installed through stock ota feature.
Then use my earlier stated instructions.
Thx alot it worked & no problems
