From my observation, I've found out that the screen is more AMOLED-like (higher contrast and brightness) on stock roms old sense (2.1,2.2,2.3) than on those cm7/ics/sense 3.5. My question is has someone mentioned this, or is it just my eyes playing with me?

I have tried both opendesire and defrost Rom but the issue of automatic brightness is very very important for me!in sense Rom the settings is perfect but in op and df I can choose in settings a custom level but for me is very difficult to use and understand so my question is simple: there is a way to have a perfect automatic brightness for example in op Rom such as in sense based Rom?and if yes, how?
Thanks

I don't have the issue with OD, just use standard auto-brightness, but with DF I also can't get it working properly.

For me the standard autobrightness of od is too low compared the sense Rom.haven't you noticed that?

It is quite low, but I just use the custom brightness setting on Extended Controls widget to change brightness manually.

And so you have a brightness fixed to a certain level?

Not all the time, only when autobrightness goes too low for my liking.

Is the Desire S the smallest android phone with the clearest display?
The Wildfire S would've been perfect with a slightly higher resolution display. The text is a little fuzzy looking, not good for reading..
High resolution displays are only reserved for the big phones?
Must quality phones be huge?
Is HTC Desire S the one?

Why don't you ask in the forum for desire s?
TouchPaled from Oxygen with Transparent XDA App
Well there are sites like gsmarena.com, phonearena.com etc. where you can brows the phones chcek their sizes and resolutions (all specs).
zte blade has 3.5" wvga display (same resolution as desire)

My arc s is displaying a more yellowish tinge to the white that should be displayed. Its not alot but its noticeable and annoying. is this an arc trait or a problem?
I have seen that this was a Gingerbread issue with the Update to 2.3.3 with the nexus S. Google changed the color temp and it had a yellow tone instead of a cool temp
First of all, that phone has just been released so might take time for responses for issues, secondly, don't start a new thread on the exact same issue because no one has responded to the first.

Well do you have an arc? instead of *****ing tell me if your screen displays warmer colours.
Sent from my LT18i using XDA App
Yes. My Arc has such gamut too. I think that all Arcs look the same. Latest Sony tablets have yellowish tint too. I suppose they think that such color temperature produces more natural colors when watching media content. In comparison to X10 they changed not only color temperature but gamma too. Thus midtones look brighter. First week of owning Arc I was feeling some kind of discomfort but now I got used to it.
Thanks for that reply. I too really didn't like it after upgrading from my x10 but now I'm used to it and think it makes colours pop, its brilliant. If it's normal for an arc then all is good and ill stop worrying about it.

Looking at my x10 and ipod touch 4 their screens look too cool, dry almost blue Haze. Extremely happy with arc now

First of all I'm not "*****ing", I'm simply telling ya not to double post to force a response, and if I did have the issue I would have stated.
My original post was worded in a way that made it confusing. I didn't know how to remove a thread. Isn't that up to the moderator? I got an answer from this thread and am more than happy for both threads to be removed. Cheers

Maybe same with my arc, its a little yellowish when brightness is set to 0%... But that not a big problem for me... Arc's LCD are the best for watch movie...

Greetings. I have weird lags and sound chokes in recorded videos with latest sense ROMs such insertcoin, leedroid or runnymede. Any suggestions?

Known issue with sense roms running 2.3 and higher. Set video resolution to 640x800 or lower and it should be better

Better, but still noticeable. Could you please provide me link to the specific discussion?

There is no specific thread, but I've been looking into this for weeks and have seen it mentioned in a few places. You'll probably find that the camera flash and shutter are not quite in sync so photos are too dark in low light as well.
Right now there's no fix for these issues, so for a camera/videocamera that works as it should use a non-sense aosp Rom such as oxygen, or if you want to use sense you'll need to roll back to 2.2

Just realised I quoted the wrong resolution earlier, I meant 640x480.

Guys, how are you doing with the camera on stock rom? It is too saturated at 0 and too unsaturated at -1. Does anyone have a easy solution?

What version firmware are you on? I was thinking the same thing earlier actually, might be my opinion though, I'm certainly no professional photographer lol
I'm running 2.17

root and installe the camera mod no, relly, you can't do anything if you're not rooted...
I am running viper 2.1 and even I think that the cam is over Saturated. I compared it with s3 and one x us much saturated. When u compared it with review videos of HOX. It's totally the opp. It shows that s3 is over saturated.

Thanks for tips, although it remains unclear what is best to do.
My phone is not (yet) rooted. Details:
Android 4.03
Sense 4.0
Firmware 1.29 (cannot yet update)
Any solutions? I think saturation setting -0.5 would do fine. Is there no app that could do that or is it hardware-related?
