Huh ? You use the trackball to select items when the screen is on. You want it to switch the screen off and sleep when you select something ? Or am i missing your point ?

When my screen locks, my phone is already asleep.
Won't it be too troublesome to lock the screen and then having to press the trackball to make it sleep?
And, this would be mutually exclusive with trackball awake?

turn off svoice?

Is there any easy way to turn it off? Or more importantly can I switch the long hold and double tap function of the home key?
I think the only thing you can do is make svoice not launch with the double tap. But I don't think you can assign anything to it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317
U can freeze s voice in TB that will turn it off.

I use home 2 shortcut and my double tap Home takes me to Google Now Voice Search. Also If you are rooted you should be able to disable S-Voice.

Home Button to Unlock

I apologise if there has been a thread on this but I have searched and all i could find was about unlocking the carrier.
My problem is that I can't unlock my S3 using the home button, I'm not sure what happened but it just won't work. The button functions perfectly and I can still use the power button, but I have an otterbox and it is rather annoying having to press that button.

10 or 10.1/10.2?
There's a setting directly in cm10.2 for that. Look under Settings > Buttons (in the Device section)
Then you should see "Home button wake" there, make sure it's checked.

Home button not responding to immediate press to wake up

I am experiencing atleast a 5 second delay before my phone wakes up after pressing the home button. Anyone else experiencing this? I've already adjusted developer options in reference to transition speeds and so forth.
