Not sure what you are talking about. There is one that you can flash in CWM, and one that you can flash using fastboot...

I just flashed the radio from that Telstra radio thread, i will see how it fairs.
EDIT: now my RIl and baseband dont match! Is it best to match them?

Why not run it the way it is and see if it works for you. There is no perfect combination. Just find something that works for you.

ok i have searched and lurked and nothing really explains this
1)how or why is one better than the other?
2)Does any keep the latest PRI? Before bust out the flame throwers i beleave i know the answer but someone on another forum is trying to convince people that lates unrevoked keeps pri.
3)I am already rooted (simpleroot)and using fresh 3.1.0.1 and loving it but would anyone have a better running system if they used a different method and why?
1) Using the engineering boatloader is the best ATM. It allows access to everything.
2) I believe Unrevoked would keep PRI, but if you have ever used the engineering boatloader you can't get it back to the latest (at least not yet).
3) Nope.
Edit: Also, post in Q&A next time, it'll save mods the trouble of moving the thread.
sorry forgot about Q&A
i used simple then loaded eng bootloader myself

the only reason i am interested in that is cause i could flash all stock and compare to latest roms and also get all the radio and wimax updates over the wire with less work
This Radio is from TMobile OTA_Gingerbread_S_TMOUS_2.15.531.3
Baseband version 12.52.60.25U_26.08.04.30_M3
Again this is only RADIO for those with S-OFF
Enjoy!

edit: tested. It is the same as the radio leak from a few months back
check the radio thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970809 it's not the latest
Well, That's the Radio that came with the last update 2.15.531.3.
I just pull out from that update, I know that there is another update just release a couple days ago, http://www.androidcentral.com/t-mob...droid-234-brings-better-battery-life-and-more
But I haven't receive it. http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1809
Can we have this thread removed? Clutter.

I know that there is a new update. If you look at my second post there is a link with similar information from your post. The Radio that I post is Gingerbread OTA 2.15.531.3 and the new OTA is 2.16.531.5.
I'm just trying to share in case someone need it.
If someone think that this Thread is not helpful, go ahead and deleted, no problem at all.
Thanks!

I have a update but it the one that will fix the search I don't want to apply it, but has three been another update since that. Sorry for the noob question. Here's a pic

Should have posted this in Q&A. If you have have CWM recovery that update won't go through, have to have stock recovery. You can update your baseband here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787677. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS CLOSELY AS WRITING A RADIO IS SUPER RISKY. If you goto lg2, theres a patch to fix the searchbar. If you go directly to lg8 , which is the latest, there is apost I recall seeing that has the search apk file you can install manually.
Ya I didn't think about that until after I posted it.

Hey All,
I'm new to the S3 from the E4GT. On the E4GT we were plagued with the infamous brick bug so we had to take extra precautions while flashing. I know these are two diff phones/kernels et al. but was wondering if there was anything that has been discovered like the brick bug that we should be aware of before flashing? Need to go to a safe kernel/safer recovery/only flash during the full moon etc...
Like I said, new to the S3; please be gentle, I have a fragile psyche. :cyclops:
thx
Don't flash international mods or roms.

What he said.. I am not aware of the EMMC bug on these. Just be careful and verifiy model number before flashing (most everything in this tread should be safe) and welcome. I came from the Touch as well.
Nope no Emmc brick bug on this phone. Only way to brick your phone is to flash a rom meant for another phone or a another s3 variant and international rom

All good news; thanks guys.
now to start shopping for that perfect ROM.....
for the CleanBean rom in the development section (which I can't post to yet), I find no mention of whether the radio has to be flashed after the rom. Is one usually safe to assume you *don't* need to flash a radio if it's not mentioned in the dev's comments? thank you in advance.
Radios aka modems aka baseband are completely separate from roms. You don't need to flash one unless you really want to see if one works better for you. The newest is LJ7 (lj7) LJ looks like a big U lol.

separate in the sense that you can flash one separately, but almost always bundled with the custom rom...
right?

No. ROMs don't flash or change your current modem. If you want to change your modem it must be flashed separate.
