Hello to any and all folks who might read this thread. I am currently running my G2 on a T-Mo based Straight Talk SIM and for some reason I cannot send MMS at all. Voice and Internet/Data work perfectly fine for me and I have followed the instructions on setting up the APN that are found on Straight Talk's website. My data is enabled and the APN does stick so I have no idea. I should also mention that I am on S-ON on the latest GB OTA ROM from T-Mo/G2. I'm thinking it might make a difference, but I remember this problem occurred when I was running AOKP on my Samsung Vibrant. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all -
I have a strange problem. I cannot receive MMS messages from AT&T subscribers. I can get them from Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile people but not ATT. I have Net10, running thru ATT. My APN is correct, and I get internet, and MMS from most people, but this is frustrating the heck out of me and I cannot figure this out. Seems so odd to only not get them from one carrier, which happens to be the carrier I'm on. Once upon a time, I did receive them. I was running an AOSP rom, switched to another one, and now went back to stock via Odin. Tried on the MB4 one, nope....now running MD1, still no. Has anyone ever heard of this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
I just upgraded to the 4.4 Snapshot (cm-11-20140405-SNAPSHOT-M5-maguro). Everything works flawlessly except the data. I cannot connect to the Internet with data enabled. Voice calling works great.
Been on a support call with an ATT representative with no avail. I'm not sure whether this is a ROM issue. I was searching online and it appears that for Sprint phones, there's an additional APN installation that one has to do for data to work. But I'm unaware of anything similar for ATT.
Any help debugging this will be much appreciated. Thanks.
Turned out to be a rather simple issue. I have 4G data on my family plan but Galaxy Nexus has only 3G. And yet the ATT representative wasn't able to figure it out. I just switched the APN from ATT LTE to ATT Phone and data worked.

I have spent hours searching online and XDA reading posts with no luck. I wanted to see if there has been a solution to this ongoing issue that I overlooked. Not having MMS is a huge deal breaker for me, unfortunately if I can't get it to work I'll be going back to my Nexus 5. I was wondering if anyone has MMS working for T-Mobile? If there was a solution? It has not worked for me in any of the listed messaging apps...
Some things I've tried:
Played around with T-Mobile APN settings (from T-Mobile site and user recommended here at XDA)
Tried Textra app, HTC messaging app, Hangouts
Turned off WiFi
Things I have not tried:
Turning off WiFi calling (AT&T unlocked version doesn't have it)
Flashed any ROMs
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
S-off and switch to a T-mobile branded version of the operating system?
Still might not work flawlessly, as T-mobile and AT&T use different bands for some things, but it might be worth a shot.
Same problem here. Can receive texts...not send them....
Search how to Flash t-mobile RUU and you will have wi-fi calling plus working mms and all radios.
Good afternoon the issue I'm having is I have brought from T-Mobile over to MetroPCS (same company I know) my Samsung GSIII (SGH-T999). I rooted and Flashed a CM11 Nightly Build(not stable) (CM_d2lte 11-20150301) that would work on the MetroPCS network for non-MetroPCS Samsung phones. I also don't have any of these issues mentioned in their development Wiki: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Known_Issues_page_for_d2lte
Everything works except for I keep getting 3G instead of LTE using the fast.tmobile.com apn because the metropcs apn wouldn't work for me (although its a branded sim card from metro) and SMS I was only able to send out SMS during the first day of a fresh reinstall of CM11 Nightly Build and cleaning of the cache and system during recovery mode. The only way i can receive or send sms is through Whatsapp....
I've searched through the forums for any threads that have had a similar issue like:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875760
But I don't know if that will work with my nightly build and phone model because this is for Sprint GS3s and mine is from TMobile, don't know if there is really a difference.
TL;DR:
I Have rooted and flashed a CM nightly build for MetroPCS on a T-Mobile SGIII (SGH-T999) but SMS doesn't work and signal icon only says 3G apart from saying T-Mobile network but that can be because I'm using an APN for t-mobile. Main issue is not sending or receiving SMS.
Greetings everyone!
Signed up so that I can hopefully help someone else in need with their LG G3 phone using the Straight Talk 4G LTE Verizon sim card.
After many hours of flashing roms and trying out various things, it turns out for some reason other variants of the stock roms like Bliss Pop, CoudyG3, and Skydragon will not work with the data. I can still use my phone and make calls and i can still get text messages and even pictures sent through text messages, but for the life of me data would NOT work.
The only rom that did work again was the Jasmine rom. To my understanding it works pretty close to the stock verizon rom that comes with the LG G3. After the flash, BOOM! Everything worked and data came back to life.
I noticed the APN settings is very very different but this rom wont let you go in it to see it's settings. Surely there is a way to import/export the APN data to push on over to another custom rom? Just weird that after putting this specific custom rom data happily worked again.
BTW, if anyone tries to activate a verizon lg g3 with straight talk, be careful. Though their stupid website said that the phone was already registered with another tracfone provider/service, I was still able to get the phone to work. If after entering your MEID/EMI or whatever the numbers are and the straight talk website spits it back out at you, CALL straight talk. I got screwed and used up the network access code which somehow got lost into oblivion, but turns out that they themselves can manually add the Verizion 4G LTE sim card with the network access code card. (I bought the 4g LTE sim card package from wal mart). As long as the phone is in good standing, it will work!
Thanks. Hope this helps someone else out trying to get it to work with straight talk. I will try and see if there is a way to export this APN setting. I was told by straight talk that you don't need an APN set, but i think they are lying.
Peace!

Back again,
Happy to report im using skydragon Rom with straight talk. Turns out you do in fact need to set the apn in the settings. Just add this apn
acct.tf.gw6.vzwentp
This is the apn for the Verizon 4g lte sim card when you use it. I didn't have to reset the phone but now data works great.
Hey question. I have a Straight Talk S3 currently running CM 11 kitkat based rom and things work great but I found other roms I want to install one of them being a Pac-Man custom rom but I have no data. I have a Verizon CDMA 4G LTE sim coming in acouple days just need the apn settings. Could anyone help me out with this? Thanx in advance for any help.

Surely it is the same APN setting as above. Try it out once you get your Sim card. Also, that S3 being a different phone may pick up on the access point names when you try another rom and set itself up, but if data is still not working, then try that APN I posted on the first post.
Also, be careful that you are actually connecting at LTE speeds as long as your area has it. Flashing to another rom I was only connecting at 3G. Turns out that once I tried another rom, you have to set the preferred network to LTE, then give the phone a reset. It took it a moment after reboot, but LTE finally showed up.
Depending on your phone, there are other settings to be set in it's hidden menu settings using the phones dialer. Just google around.
Hope this helps!
