Good afternoon the issue I'm having is I have brought from T-Mobile over to MetroPCS (same company I know) my Samsung GSIII (SGH-T999). I rooted and Flashed a CM11 Nightly Build(not stable) (CM_d2lte 11-20150301) that would work on the MetroPCS network for non-MetroPCS Samsung phones. I also don't have any of these issues mentioned in their development Wiki: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Known_Issues_page_for_d2lte
Everything works except for I keep getting 3G instead of LTE using the fast.tmobile.com apn because the metropcs apn wouldn't work for me (although its a branded sim card from metro) and SMS I was only able to send out SMS during the first day of a fresh reinstall of CM11 Nightly Build and cleaning of the cache and system during recovery mode. The only way i can receive or send sms is through Whatsapp....
I've searched through the forums for any threads that have had a similar issue like:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875760
But I don't know if that will work with my nightly build and phone model because this is for Sprint GS3s and mine is from TMobile, don't know if there is really a difference.
TL;DR:
I Have rooted and flashed a CM nightly build for MetroPCS on a T-Mobile SGIII (SGH-T999) but SMS doesn't work and signal icon only says 3G apart from saying T-Mobile network but that can be because I'm using an APN for t-mobile. Main issue is not sending or receiving SMS.

Hey guys! this is my first post on here and i need some help... I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 i747 and i rooted it, and put CM10.2 on it last night, everything went on fine however i used to have 4g everywhere and 4g LTE at my office, i noticed that CM10.2 doesnt support 4g for the S3(i dont know why...), so i cleared everything again and i put SlimBean build 5 on it.. still, my data is degraded one level.
my friend has the exact same phone but on verizon and his is working perfectly fine with SlimBean 5, i did use the AT&T version for the files on my phone. my Network Mode under system network settings is set to LTE/GSM/WCDMA and my APN is set to ATT (wap.cingular).. i tried the APN of ATT LTE (pta) and nothing changed..
any help on this is greatly appreciated!
again its an AT&T Samsung Galaxy s3 i747
did you reboot after you changed apns? have you tested the connection with an app like speedtest.net?
What is the icon by the signal bars? 4g? H+? Have you tried flashing the latest JB modem?
so my carrier is metropcs and before deciding to root my phone i noticed that anything having to do with the tmobile variant works on the metropcs variant. i recently bricked my phone and lost all my data and even my recovery (forgot to move from storage to sd/computer) and i had to flash the tmobile stock. from there i flashed cyanogenmod 10.2 nightly and the appropriate gapp. now i noticed the under mobile networks ->access point names it lists by default a tmobile one(fast.tmobile.com). considering im from metro is this okay? and i noticed my signal bar now reads h and dc and i no longer get 4g or lte signal. i have tried 2 different metropcs apn's (fast.metropcs.com and if i tried the one named "internet" it just disappears). the fast.metropcs.com one works and i get an lte signal but i can not receive calls or sms. any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I Google and tried another apn.
According to the post it is the stock metro apn setting, however I noticed if the lte signal is on I cannot receive calls or texts. This is distressing because I can browse the Web but can't receive anything or send anything.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Could this be a big with cyanogenmod?
Hey I just gave my d2tmo to my friend who has att service. Before I gave it to him I put it back to stock and unlocked it uusing a method I found here. Oh and I updated it.to the latest 4.3. When I put his sim in it worked fine it says att in the drop down menu and it has the singular apn. The data works the phone calls work but text did not. So I did sone googleing and checked the apn settings. It turned out I had to set the mms port.to it. After that the texts worked to my phone which is the note 2 but he says that he can't text his girlfriend who has att iphone. So does anyone know what could be causing this? I saw that another thing I can try is to change the mms port to 8080. I dont.know.if.that will work.
You can try and install the most updated modem and see if that's the case, for my AT&T GS3 I went from 4.1.1 (Unlock Method) to 4.3 and when I flashed the modem it had everything working on T-Mobile
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
That's another idea that I thought of. But I was explaining the situation to a friend and then it dawned on me. He had an iPhone so he probably has an iPhone data plan. He probably has to call att and switch it to an android plan. I know tmo's iphone, blackberry and android data plans are different so I bet that's the issue.
I have spent hours searching online and XDA reading posts with no luck. I wanted to see if there has been a solution to this ongoing issue that I overlooked. Not having MMS is a huge deal breaker for me, unfortunately if I can't get it to work I'll be going back to my Nexus 5. I was wondering if anyone has MMS working for T-Mobile? If there was a solution? It has not worked for me in any of the listed messaging apps...
Some things I've tried:
Played around with T-Mobile APN settings (from T-Mobile site and user recommended here at XDA)
Tried Textra app, HTC messaging app, Hangouts
Turned off WiFi
Things I have not tried:
Turning off WiFi calling (AT&T unlocked version doesn't have it)
Flashed any ROMs
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
S-off and switch to a T-mobile branded version of the operating system?
Still might not work flawlessly, as T-mobile and AT&T use different bands for some things, but it might be worth a shot.
Same problem here. Can receive texts...not send them....
Search how to Flash t-mobile RUU and you will have wi-fi calling plus working mms and all radios.
So I just switched service from verizon to at&t and have noticed no 4g and my mms not working, as well as some other things like symbols on my notification bar just not working as well when it was on verizon(such as a sim card with a ? And no notification of what kind of service im getting ex 3g 4g), I didnt know if there is a rooted version of an at&t rom (stock obv bootloader isnt unlocked) that can make things like this work, I have changed the apn but still no mms, I am on a rooted version of verizons 5.1 build vs98613B thanks
