I tried loading a couple Jelly Bean roms for my Verizon GNex.
It's unlocked and everything and it was on 4.0.4 Build IMM76K with superuser and CWM recovery. The whole deal.
I ran recovery and tried to load these 2 ROMS, 2 seperate times starting from a fresh 4.0.4 build each time:
BAMF you jelly v1.3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1744389
and
Team Liquid Vicious-toro V3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738018
Someone suggested to try a different kernel, but I'm not sure what that means.
What should I do?
are you using the touch recovery?
Did you WIPE DATA first?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Try Team Vicious's again, and be patient. I remember when I first flashed V1 I waited about 2-5 minutes before it brought me to the welcome screen. The Kernel that comes with Vicious is fine, although I've been using Faux's Kernel and am LOVING it.
You can flash kernels the same way you flash ROMs, as long as it is in a ZIP file, you are good to go. Just make sure it is compatible with Jelly Bean.
Let me know what method you are using to flash ROMs and I will try to be more detailed if needed.
Yes I am using the touch recovery. Am I not suppose to?

its been known to have issues. use the regular cwm
Did you fix permissions?
What loading screen? Google screen or boot animation?
Jeez, people need to search for real, like 3 threads on this already. Why don't you ask over in respective rom thread? Better yet, I don't believe bamf or vicious devs would release a rom without making sure it boots.

GNex stuck at Jelly Bean ROMs boot animation loading screen
I'm in a similar situation. After I flashed my Verizon GNex to Vicious Jelly Bean V3 everything seemed fine. So I decided to try my luck at flashing a theme as well. The phone is stuck on an endless JellyBean animation screen. My laptop no longer recognizes the Samsung drivers ie. they won't load, so I have no way to talk to this thing. I've tried to initiate recovery mode on the phone and it won't work either. Anybody know something I could try? I'm obviously new at this so any help would be appreciated.
Same problem over here with a friends Gnex. Same JB that installs and boots fine on my Gnex will not run on his. Weird issue

As the title says I can't get any jellybean ROM to boot. I have tried different recoveries, wipes, locks, unlocks, and I've tried to flash TeamEOS, Are you Jellin, my own aosp creation and Jellybro. None will boot past the boot animation if I go back and flash a ICS ROM everything works just fine I'm lost and I could use some help from my fellow developers and peers, please and thanks.

not really this is a development question pertaining to why jelly bean roms wont boot past the boot animation on my sprint gnex in hopes to get the developer community help to solve this issue for myself and anybody else who has this issue as there probably are people who have a sprint gnex like myself that has this issue .......guys please don't take this the wrong way but if you can help please don't post lets let the moderation team do their thing is this is out of place as we don't need folks "trolling" preventing those that can help from helping by not wanting to deal with reading useless post and back and forth banter .... thanks

whats amazing is that this thread got moved then lost in the shuffle however there is at least two other threads here with people that have the same issue with cdma galaxy nexus and jelly bean not booting or boot looping which is why this thread was originally posted in the develop section so that developers would see this and help find a resolve

Having the same issue. Won't boot past boot animation using either CWMR or TWRP to flash 4 different jelly bean roms. I have never had these problems with and ICS rom either.
About to lose my mind trying things lol
anyone have any luck? I've tried pretty much jb rom and they all do the same. Obviously it something with the phone causing it but i dont know else to do. I wipe everything can possibly wipe...
Jellybean takes a long time to boot. First EVER JB BOOT took 30 min.
29 min at the Google screen. Then 1 min at the boot animation.
After that it boots in 30 sec-3 min. Just be patient.

Myself and a few others have let it sit for hours. I have at one point had it sit for 12 hours. Don't think that was a good thing to do to my phone. It seems that some of us are having an issue with the phone not get past the new JB disc check.
I figured I would try something new today so i flashed the factory 4.0.4 image making it 100% stock, then i super wiped it and flashed bamf 4.1.1 and its gapps, the boot animation looped for about 45 min before i gave up. Just...dont...get. ..it...
Same here, tired of looking and trying to fix this boot loop issue.. I think are only hope is the official jb rom..

I'm in quite a pickle here. For 2 days now I have been trying to install the BAMF Jellybean ROM with no success. My device is currently running the latest CM9 nightly. I have tried multiple different recoveries, used superwipe done the manual wipe, tried different ROMS, re downloaded the files, went completely back to stock and re unlocked and rooted the phone.....I am out of ideas. It absolutely will not go past the boot animation no matter how long I let it sit. I am out of ideas. Any suggestions?
I'm pretty new here, but this Rom you're using is it for gsm GN or cdma.

Its for the CDMA VZW Nexus. Its frustrating the hell out of me.
Try another kernel maybe?
Or potentially another JB rom?
And Jelly Bean boot times can be long.
Actually, I though I was one of those that had zero problems on Jelly.
But I flashed a LeanKernel experimental build a few days ago and thought I was bootlooping for sure.
I went downstairs and made myself a sandwich just in case...and came back to the "Upgrading your applications" menu that pops up after dalvik wipes. So that means ~10 minute boot time.
Other than that ONE time however, it's been booting fast.
I'd say take a shower or something while it loops.
You may be wrongly assuming it's looping.
And sitting there staring at your phone just makes it seem longer.

Same problem Here.. but the first time vicious jb rom been public I manage to flash it without problem and I was able to use it for a couple of days.. then I decide to try different jb rom then BOOM! infinite boot loop.. been jumping from different forums and I couldn't find any solution. Try all kind of cwm ,kernel,jb rom.. kernel and rom combo with no success. Also flash jb boot loader.. but I can restore flash ics rom with out any issue.

lulz, might as well just do it from command prompt. I never have faith in toolkits. They only carry out a set of instructions. If anything doesn't go perfectly they fail.
once imm76k is unzipped:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-toro-primela03.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-toro-i515.fc05.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio-cdma radio-cdma-toro-i515.fa04.img

Hi!
You don´t need to unlock your bootloader cause this Rom works with stock kernel. But you´ll need to root your phone and install CWM.
Oficial 4.0.3 is rootable, so you won´t have problems to root at all. It´s pretty easy and fast.
CWM you can install using the play store: search for cwm for xperia
then, download 4.2 or 4.2n Icebean Rom and be happy.
Best regards!
Thankyou very much!
I downloaded a auto install root from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601038
I did this. I got stuck on SONY logo.
Im using stock kernel of ICS 4.0.4, rooted my phone by doomlord. I believe, the Ice Bean really require the ArcKnight kernel. Any idea why i got stucked? Can you advise???

Hi!
Did you solve your problem? 'I guess you did...'
I have heard of some users with 4.0.4 kernel having problems...
Honestly, I don´t know if the problem is related only to this stock kernel, but if you use 4.0.3 kernel or the new one released (587) you won´t have problems at all.
Another thing that SOMETIMES happens is to get stuck on SONY logo, but if you remove the battery of the phone, put it again and turn the phone on, then it works...
Wish u have solved before my post, but if u didn´t, try what I just wrote.
=)

I can't do a system mount and can't boot into Jelly Bean because of the checks that are now being done on Jelly Bean. Plus this error: "Could not stat dex cache directory '/data/dalvik-cache". So there is no Jelly Bean Mount issue? I should be able to boot into Jelly Bean without hours and hours of Boot Loops? Man I have been trying to get Jelly Bean since the first VZW CDMA Rom, I hope it's easier than I thought. /Crosses fingers.

You need to start off fresh. Pull all you data off your device, flash the stock images using fastboot (like this), and then apply the updates (from here), without installing any apps. You shouldn't have any issues.
