I have tried the rom, and for the life of me i can't understand why anyone with a brain would want an evo that runs and looks like a piece of **** iphone.
If you are so determined to be another brainless zombie then go buy the iphone and stop polluting the good name of android by using a rom like MIUI.

Fast, efficient, themes, intuitive, GB, tons of built in useful apps...
Sure, not for everyone. You lose Sense. Its not your typical pure AOSP Rom.
But for me, its the best experience possible given my usage habbits.
Why. This is Why!
MIUI just has so much more built in stock! Think of it as an alternative launcher of sorts. Its still android just with MIUI on top. I would compare MIUI to Sense, Launcher pro, spb. They just emphasize the themes more.
Built in FTP, screenshots and eye candy!!!!!
You obviously haven't ran it for longer than a week........
There's more to MIUI than looking like an iPhone. I don't like the iPhone, I don't want an iPhone, but I like MIUI. It runs well, it has some nice rom-specific apps, and with easy theming it looks really nice.
Anyone that has to rant that much about hating the iPhone and anything that looks like it needs to grow up. Sorry. People like what they like, I'm not sure why you think calling people names over personal preference makes you better than them.
My Evo + xda Premium App = This post.
I would like to add that the Iphone is a great phone. I would recommend it for any one not tech savy (intermediate user), on the other hand android is for the more advanced user who is NOT scared to void a warranty lol.
Only self indulgent turds use miui. Its overrated.

First off lol Iphone is over priced and insane price for the plan. Nothing new about all of them the latest phone's kick the crap outta them. I hate iphone but have nothing against people who like it personal taste.
Miui isn't all that bad it's fun to mess around with to see what you can do with it worth checking out nice features in it. CM7 is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet takes my cake
well i like my LP better on VP3.2 but to each his own, i think miui is a good transition rom for recovering appleoholics like my wife who traded the iphone for an evo, but couldn't really get used to it at first, i gave her miui and earned myself a nice BJ, couple months later made the flash to real android with azrael and, happy ending
lol. I love when people get mad about rom choices. If you actually used MIUI and saw all of the benefits(wireless FTP alone makes it awesome) then you would not cry. It offers things that no other rom offers. It is faster. Because it looks like the iphone you hate it. Why do you hate the iphone, because you love Android? If you love Ford do you have to hate Chevy? Grow up.
When MIUI gets the errors out of GB I'm switching back to it. They were becoming so excellent with 2.2, wimax was around the corner, then GB leaked.
MIUI is a great ROM. Just because it looks like an iPhone launcher doesn't mean it's bad, not at all. If you're going to whine and complain about the iPhone, then do it elsewhere, because I for one don't care. MIUI with Launcher 7 was one of my favorite setups. I had great battery life, the menus are easy to navigate, and it has lots of cool little features. MIUI is a very creative ROM, especially when compared to other ROMs that don't bring anything new to the table.
It seems to me just you're letting your hatred of the iPhone blind you to the greatness that is MIUI.

Why does he have to b!tch elsewhere lol this is his thread! He can hate on miui all day if he wants to in HIS thread you people came in here. Miuis text bug is lame, and have you scrolled through the menus that **** is laggy as hell. It doesn't have 4G(will never have it) and its just overrated imo. Only thing good I have to say about miui is the battery life is nice.

Dirk you're a dumass and I'm saying it the Red Forman way. It's his opinion but it obvious he didn't use it for too long. It's funny that he hates the iPhone but still flashed MIUI which he just said looks like the iPhone. It has more features and will soon include 4G.

IPhone is a REEALLLYY good phone. Apple does high quality work. Not the software part. Everything inside the iPhone works together soo smooth ohoho
A drop of Chuck Norris's semen was placed on Android OS. We now have CyanogenMod.

You surely have already heard about the Darkedge ui theme..in my eyes, the most complete dark black theme never seen on Android. Not only the system apk where inverted but the whole framework , including new apps installed, turned inverted, so that the black text invert white on black background. This is what we miss mostly on the curent themes we have on ICS . If themers could concentrate on that specific part of the framework, that would make themes looks even much better, i attached some pics of the Darkedge theme..i miss it
Darkdge was the best theme I have ever used...hands down. It was so complete and so sleek, it is what I miss most about my OG Droid. I would love if Darkedge came out on the G Nex, but I don't think it'll happen. I'm pretty sure that team is no more. I would love to be wrong, but unless someone can confirm anything else, that's what I'm going with.
that's nice man
i agree! it was for sure the most complete theme of all time! i would rock that on my nexus in a heart beat!
You can always try the DarkEdge ADW themes.. not nearly the same, but not bad if you really like it.
darkedge = awesome!!!!!

i tried to contact the themer Xedoxus, but no answer..the last news i got, was that they were working on a similar theme called "Sentio ui" and would be avalaible on the market for all android systems...well, not done yet...
wow this is unbelievably beautiful a theme...would be so nice on nexus
The theme just looks great...i hope someone will port it soon to our nexus

Most themers don't mind if you port their work as long as you give credit to them and don't ask for donations. Wouldn't hurt to ask

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/xeudoxus/43628-release-darkedge-ui.html
In the thread, they say to reach out to this email ([email protected]) to get approval for porting/modification.
I'd love to see this as well. Additionally, I think it would be flippin' awesome to modify/customize it to make it fluid with ICS as it already exists. Maybe that's just me.
It would have to be more than just ported over. Every image would have to be redone for our screens.

The most difficult part would actually be the tons of XML's not the png's,as they TOTALLY Inverted each part so that when you install any apk on your system, it will turn to white text on black background.. no one has done that before and no other theme till now!! All the modifications have been made in the framework-Res.apk
If you success porting it totally...you are a pro!!
POLL TO TRY AND GET DARKEDGE UPDATED FOR THEME MANAGER AND ICS. VOTE SO THEY CAN SEE HOW BAD WE WANT DARKEDGE BACK.

Not gonna happen. People have been asking for a long ass time and they don't want to do it. I agree that it was probably the best, most complete theme I have ever used and it would be even better on the GNex considering all that it is capable of, but I wouldn't hold my breath over it. Hopefully someone decides to try porting it, I know it would be a huge theme free or paid.
+1 for dark edge. Waiting for that theme to be released was a huge thing back in the day.. while I seriously doubt a full port will happen, that would be really awesome

I got a question of opinion ive had my s3 for a few months now and i love it and all but im starting grow out of it, meaning, my thumbs are just to big for it. Texting an typing are just too much for me. I checked out the note and like the size. I think its perfect. My question...how is it compared to the s3. Can i flash as much as i lke like the s3? And performance wise, i read numbers on a web page, thats one thing, but in the hands of a user is another. Just need some insight.

I think you'd get better answers in the Note 2 forums seeing as we're S3 users over here.

Hey, download the Swiftkey Keyboard (free for 1 month trial) and type in landscape mode for bigger buttons...but allow Swiftkey to auto correct for you. It learns and it is incredibly good at fixing mistakes. Just snow plow through a sentence and you might be surprised how well you do with your big thumbs! :good:
Ill look into the swiftkey thank man

I'll second SwiftKey. It's predictive abilities and the way it learns your own language is absolutely phenomenal. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

More praise for SwiftKey. I just button mash and it's almost like it's reading my mind. Think it's currently on sale too.
Im lovin the note2.. I have both s3 and note2...amayzing phone .first thing I noticed is keyboard is bigger and has 5 lines of characters now instead of 4....I guarantee u will love
Another happy SwiftKey user - it's personalization options are second to none! Really! And once your brain acclimates to it, you'll find you can really fly in portrait or landscape view. SwiftKey really takes the work out of texting. And the weight/size of the sgs3 give a user-sense of near weightlessness. Have fun. It's easy. Be patient with yourself and your thumbs'll thank you for it!

I assume everything with download mode and ODIN will be identical being that it's Samsung but developer support will be worse due to the less dev-friendly SoC and smaller user base.

I don't mean to sound like an a*s or be stupid, but WHY????
Miui is practically iPhone.. The whole apple vs android war is a little complicated due to Miui.
Why bother getting an S3 when you just want it to look like apple? Don't get me wrong, it's different, but it cosmetically looks like apple software.. So... Yeah....
Anyone want to discuss? XD
It's just a middle finger to the ifanbois who argue how much better and cleaner/simple iPhone is..thing is, iPhone can't really alter it's UI to match Android, but Android has no qualms of doing this. JoyOS is almost an exact iPhone replica, look that up. MIUI was something started in Asia, you know those crazy Asians do all sorts of generic and off-brand stuff, for all we know it could have been an Android OS developed to go on a iPhone-clone device, seeing as it's easier to build an Android device than an Apple device in a counterfeit factory..somewhere there's a writeup of where it came from on xda..if you search.
Also, FWIW, it's pronounced 'Me-we' or 'Me-U-I'..depending on who you ask.
Try it out yourself, it's not just an iPhone looking thing, it has a lot of themes to chose from and you can alter it any way you want.

Well you should try it before thinking it is exactly like iPhone. The only thing that is like it is the launcher. It has no app drawer, but everything else on MIUI is customize able. You could have one theme for SMS, one for icons, etc. You can't do that on iPhone without jail breaking it. Even then (because I did it on mY iPod touch when I was 8.), the themes for jail broken I phones theme everything. You can't choose a separate theme for everthing. You can change the launcher with anything from the play store. So its not like iOS at all.

Honestly, Touchwiz is a blatant rip-off of iOS's Launcher. Technology has always advanced from taking someone else's work and making it better. I really like MIUI and it's design. Regardless if it's cosmetically similar to iPhone, it's still Android and that's what matters.
MIUI is made for people who like androids customizability and the simplistic style and look of the iphone. If u think it's too ipbone-ish then it wasn't made for you

I don't think the same, but personally I love the metro UI especially in large screen devices like N4, lying my friend that I got win8 running in my N4 could be a fun and very cool too !
I love how we can modify android to our liking, the Ubuntu mobile interface and swiping control, how iPhone's every apps' icons look the same size and neat and Win8 Metro UI
Cheers
To each his own, and different strokes for different folks but how close is this to windows mobile ? because if this is anything like windows 8 mobile interface thank god I am with Android, for me this launcher sucks, but hey its my opinion try it yourself and see ? I installed it tried it and delete it.
