Had the same problem so I moved to 3g watchdog and It solved it.
Wish Onavo worked though, cause it's much easier and neater to use.

4g works great for me when I am tethering. Netflix just screams.
However when I have 4g turned on and try to view web pages on the phones default internet browser or Dophin HD or Mini then pages just don't load. The progress bar get's about halfway and then just stops for up to 5 minutes sometimes and then the page continues to load. I click on a link and again wait for up to 5 minutes and then the new page loads....
If I turn off 4g and just browse with 3g then browser pages open right up no delays at all.
This is very frustrating. Does anyone else have this issue or know what is up or how to fix it?
Do you have AdFree installed? If so, uninstall it. AdFree is known to cause web browsing issues when on 4G.
Yes I do. I am using Koni's Elite Series II mod. I will try uninstalling that app and see.
Thanks!
It didn't help to uninstall Adfree.
Any other Suggestions?
Did you reboot after uninstalling? That might help. I would probably wipe cache and dalvik too. Other than that, I'm not sure what else could be causing it.
I would check in the thread for the ROM you are using and see if anyone else is having the same problem.

I rebooted but I didn't wipe cache and dalvik. I did check the thread and I couldn't find anything.
Thanks for your help!

Can you explain the logic behind how adfree affects 4g? All it is is a front end for updating the hosts file which does nothing but redirect certain ad sites to either local host or some other IP, depending how you have it set up.

No actually I can't explain it. I just know I've seen it mentioned several times and people reported that deleting it solved their problem.

I still haven't come up with a solution for this. So if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
Don't just uninstall it -- that doesn't revert the change it made. In fact, you'll need to go back and reinstall it. Open it up and click the revert button. Then you can uninstall it.
I think you can also just delete /etc/hosts, but using Adfree to do it is probably a bit easier.
ok I will try that. Thank you.
hello folks, after upgrading to ICS .....3G data speed has gone down terribly low...speed test shows only 3 kbps.

check with your operator that everything is ok with your plan/account first then see if they can send you the APN details to your phone.
Pvy.

Try the APN settings. I found that for me I only need to have 'default' in APN profile, everything else slows down the speed.
As it was suggested above, check with your provider. On their home page you should find the link to manually make the settings, use that to double check with your existing ones...
When I look in data usage it shows application "10152" using the most data on my mobile network but when I look under settings>>apps>>>all its not listed....can't find anyone with same problem or anything on Google about it.....any help is much appreciated thanks!!!
Have you wiped completely and tried reflashing? Usually solves most problems.
Have you installed any apps not from the play store?
That could have compromised your device to a virus that eats data.

Yes of course I have lol which is what I thought immediately.... I tried about 6-7 anti virus software programs and all say my phone is clean....I actually also went through each "non-playstore" apps and checked the permissions for each...again...and nothing out of the ordinary that I see but I appreciate the feedback thanks for your time guys
Hello everyone!
I don't know why, but since last week the battery drains faster than it has before. There is no apparent reason for it. There is only one anomaly, one process that seems to use a lot of the cellular network, and that is the WhatsApp...
How can I examine this further on an unrooted phone??
Thx in advanced !
If the cellular network at your place is weak, your phone will use more power energy to maintain network connection. In such case, I think you'd better install the app named Greenify to stop Whatsapp from background running.

That's the thing... It's not weak. It just drains the battery more than it had before for some unknown and not apparent reason at all.
i was having a problem like that, i turned up mobile data and using only whatsapp, with a big battery drain, the solution for me was disable fast telephony from the hidden menu in the telephone and now the problem is gone
I guess "fast telephony" = "fast dormancy", right?

Let us know if it works.
Disabling fast dormancy is ok if your carrier does not implement it otherwise if they do you want it on. Given your problem happened suddenly i doubt that is the reason.
When people have problems with whats app. clear cache or failing that, reinstalling the app has fixed it.

Well, it doesn't seem to have any effect on the usage of mobile data of the WhatsApp app...
Also clearing the cache and uninstalling and reinstalling the app didn't have the desired effect.
Any other solutions?
@spartan do you have any ideas ?
I have this weird bug since day 1 where some apps and websites never load using mobile data but working on Wi-Fi. At first I thought it's my data that acts up but the thing is it's working when I turn on my VPN:

Anyone who got the same problem or an idea for a fix please? Thank you.
