Appointment Locations for Google Now? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi,
what is the right way to enter the location of an appointment so that Google now reminds me that it is time to go?
I´ve tested it with only a city name in the location field and it worked, but when I insert a location like: postalcode city, street housenumber it doens´t work.
Any ideas?

That's always worked for me... or the coordinates. Maybe put the address in Google maps first, might be wrong.

I just put the address in the event box in Google calendar. So, for my drs appointment, i set an event for the date and time in Google calendar, and there is a place for location.

You don't even need the address if the location is listed on Google Maps. I set a concert venue's name as a location and Now had the right address and navigation time.

Your problems probably that you put the postal first, put the house number first and postal last.

Check the Google Now settings and see if the next appointment card is on.

Voice search, wrong location

Hey XDA
I'm located in Denmark, and i'm a great fan of the voice search thing.
However, when i ask about weather, it always comes up with the weather in Washington, unless i ask specific for Denmark (which is quite large)
Imo it should just give me weather for my current location..
Anyone know how to change this?

Perhaps a silly question : Is your GPS on?

Try going to settings, then Privacy and Accounts, and make sure the "search on Google.com" box is unchecked. This way your local Google site will be used instead. Worked for me

Latitude necessary for Google now?

I have set up my work and home location through location settings properly. Google now seems to be detecting it properly as it shows time to get home whenever I'm out. Can I sign out of latitude now and have it continue working since I don't want any additional battery drain from latittude. Thanks!

Hi Terence you don't need latitude at all to use Google now. Your traffic habits and commuter info are independent of latitude Altogether. Hath.

How do I get Google Now to show

Holding the menu key down does bring up the Google search, but going through the settings I don't see anything for Google Now. I don't have Google +. Is this needed? I added a valid gmail accound as well to my phone.
Figured it out. I needed to make the gmail account the primary account. I tried to delete the thread but perhaps it will be helpful to someone else.
I see it in the notification pulldown, but not in the top bar. Wonder if there's a setting for that.

In the google (now) app, there's a Privacy and accounts option in the settings when you hit menu. Click on that and click google account to choose which one to use. It'd be nice if we could use a non gmail account with Google Now. My university (utexas) partners with gmail, so it technically is gmail but without some of the perks like google now.

Thanks for the info, I just checked I don't even have the Google now app icon anywhere, I might have chosen not to use it when I first setup the phone, ... what can I do to get it back?

It's the Google app. The one that searches.
OK I found it just open Google search, setting, there is option to turn it on,...played with it for two minutes, I found it no use to me, turn it back off...

I you use chrome and search for a landmark, after you find it, say a specific McDonald's, next time you open google now it will present you with navigation to that McDonalds.
Google now is amazing. I arrived at BWI on Sunday and when I turned my phone on, it had directions to the hotel up, restaurants listed near the hotel, and the local weather. It does sometjing similar at home too. Probably one of the nicest upgrades thats functional.

UCCW Location Issue

I've searched the forum to no avail.
I am making a widget which includes location and temp. No matter which location I enter (Orlanda, Florida, USA) the temp is always 39 F. Auto location says that location is not available.
Google search brings up nothing as well.
Thanks ahead of time.

Adding Appointments Using S-Voice

I need your help! Can someone please try to add a new appointment using s-voice.
My device is not allowing me to schedule new appointments using s-voice? I can edit or delete appointments, create tasks, set alarms, open applications, answer or decline incoming calls or even call & text contacts. I really like s-voice and use it regularly. However, the only command it won't perform is to add new appointments to the calendar. What I've done so far:
Changed and adjusted calendar settings and compared mine to other users/friends were the application does work.
Contacted Samsung who had me perform a soft reset by removing the battery and restarting the phone
Contacted Samsung who had me perform a hard reset and swipe the phone clean and start from scratch
Contacted Sprint who had me do another soft and hard reset.
Contacted Sprint who sent me a brand new replacement device
Contacted Sprint who had me again do a soft and hard reset.
Contacted Sprint who asked me to take the device into a corporate store tomorrow hoping someone there can diagnose the problem
None of these options have worked, and I still cannot add new appointments using s-voice.
Here is screen shot with the message I get when trying to add an appointment. Please help!

Thank you for responding. Do you use Google Now to add appointments? Can you screen shot this for me to see how you're doing so. I use Google Now for voice search of Internet information, but adding, editing, or deleting calendar items I was not aware Google Now had this capability?

Well, after spending up to 45 minutes at the Sprint store today I went away with a device that is still incapable of adding appointments to the calendar using s voice
However, once again Sprint didn't disappoint and agreed to send me now my third device. I should get it in two or three days and hopefully this one is the charm. Thank you to everyone who has responded, and done your best to assist me.
The issue has everyone at Sprint and Samsung puzzled, but other than the minor inconvenience of taking the old device to the post office to ship back, I'll keep pushing until I get a device that works.

With a special thanks to a new friend over at Android Central the problem has been found and corrected.
I had to create a new primary gmail account, and just like that I can now save appointments to the calendar. It appears the gmail account I always used as my primary account must have been corrupted in some way (I'm not sure how). Therefore, no matter how many phones Sprint sent me the result would be the same, because I always would use that Gmail address to set up the phone.
I am now using the new gmail account I created as my primary account, and the other one as the secondary.
Since all my applications, YouTube, and everything else is associated with the old account I now need to go through the really laborious task of redownloading my apps under the new account.
I feel bad about having Sprint send me another phone so I will contact them and cancel the replacement. Now I understand why the issue was unique to me, and followed me no matter which phone I used. Thank you all for your help! A special thanks to my new friend

What I've experienced and read is that S-Voice will save the appointment only to your local "my calendar." Google Now will save to your default Google calendar

Hey guys I've been following a few forums on this. It just doesnt make sense.
Anyways, I don't have a solution but I've discovered something that might help solve this from another angle.
S-planner seems to use the last calendar you created an event for. S-voice follows suit... so I'm able to get it to work with my primary personal gmail calendar and my primary google business apps calendar by temp creating an event in s-planner for one of them.
My problem is that I created an secondary calendar with my personal gmail account and share it with my wife as the family calendar. If I do the same in s-planner then try a new event with s-voice it fails.
I hope that gives you a new angle and maybe you can help me bc id really like the family calendar as the default..
Cheers!
