Hello!
Maybe many people has asked this, but is there any way to record music from the stock radio app? Or is there any app like soundhound that could detect witch song is playing at the station?
Thank you very much!
P.S.: Sorry for my English! I'm using rooted stock ICS 4.0.3 WPG rom.

u can try google ears for detecting the music played on radio ( it's awidget ), really don't know about recording system sound on ur phone ( it is not a pc, it is a phone ) all apps i know use the mic to record the sound coming out from the speaker
Hi, you have to run your radio and shazam in the same time. And shazam will detect the music. I'w try it, and works.

Thank you very much to you both for your answers.

Well, have you tried that app for this purpose? As I've seen I have to download it thru this forum and install it with cmw, no? Because I guess that it's a leaked app from J.B., am I right?

Well I've tried Shazam too, and I can't get it to work simultaneously with the radio... How do you do it? Because if I initiate shazam the radio won't play the music and if I start the radio, shazam gives me an error...
Finally, I have read that SGS3's radio app has the function of recording the radio... Has it been ported to our SGS2s? Because it can be another solution, to record a piece of music and identify it with my laptop, for example...

Yes, i have used it to identify songs from both stock fm radio and music player , and it's not a cwm zip, there is a version , that is a normal installable apk file

Thanks for your response! Well, I've installed the app, but it doesn't work for me, as the other programs. I can't use them both at the same exact moment... Maybe it's because we are using different roms? Which one are you using?

.
I have the same stock rom, by me works fine. But I use this radio : Tunein Radio (in play store available). Much better, and don't stop, if you start any other program.

Hi again! Wow, thank you, I didn't know that program and it's amazing! I even bought the pro version. I'm glad that I have an unlimited data plan (but not enough battery...). Well, this will be my solution for now, but if anybody has an idea of how to record/identify the songs from the stock fm radio, please, share it with us!
And thank you again

Do you really hear music on this phone ?
I think Music is one of the poor features of the phone.

are you serious??
your question is invalid.
Yes, we DO hear music, either from the speaker, or from the headphones. However, the speaker is not the loudest you can find out there
But sounds from headphones are high quality and loud
My phone don't play music very loud even if the headphones are connected. Does exist an application, which can incrase the volume of my Blade?

use poweramp and check if u have inserted the headphones properly in the jack.
We have android Music 4.0 on Blade I have been using it for a couple of months and got hold of a MIUI Player , its good but dont know if it genuine or not as I have not seen the MiUi Music Player myself.
Great app. I most like the "sleep mode".
It works all right
You can't install it as a normal apk. You'll have to copy it to your /system/app folder with a root enabled file manager (like ES File Explorer or Astro) and rename it to Music.apk.
Don't forget to copy the original one to the SD card (or rename it to Music.bak or something) in case anything goes wrong.
Link
Btw the File Manager works as well, installation is the same. I prefer the MIUI one because a)it looks awesome and b)it has a built in FTP feature which is even more awesome.

You guys can also check out here for more Miui stuff to mingle with.
I've tried the (older) music player version given on there on my gf's Blade and everything was working fine; even the lyrics search which wouldn't work on my Defy... Some apps there are even installable apk if I remember right. But nevertheless, those are system apps; so yes, it is better to push them with adb or a root-enable file explorer AND change their permissions to 644 (same as the other apps in /system/app folder) + reboot.
But all that being said, I much prefer the N7 music player (free from the Play Store) as mentioned here. I've also given an ICS Music.apk player (taken from ICS's system dump release by Google some months ago) that works perfectly fine on CM7 on a post on that same thread..
Enjoy and rock on!
No music on the Blade: good one!!

Does anyone use PowerAmp? I tried playing songs off of it on my new N7 and it keeps saying can't play files. I am able to open the files up with Google Music or the file explorer.

My poweramp is working fine over here on stock, cleanrom as well as cm10.2. Try another third party music player and see if that also fails, if it does then theres something else wrong thats not just poweramp related.
If its in any way related, in quickpic i was not able to use the hide function because the media storage was messing with it, try clearing data on media storage and see if it works.

Nope. Songs play fine on the new n7 with poweramp for me. Not sure why it isn't for you. I know there was just an update to deal with some 4.3 issue, but other than that I don't see why it shouldn't work. Are you on the stock rom or custom?
edit: nvm, I just saw your sig. Your on a custom rom...

I can play music with other media players just fine. Except in PowerAmp. It just keeps giving me errors saying Failed to Play File. I'm on CleanROM 1.2. Stock kernel that came w/ rom.

My gf and I both got our N7 so I decided to try PowerAmp on hers as well. Same result as mine. I ended up using Rocket Player for the time being.
We are both on CleanROM 1.2. But I don't understand why it would cause PowerAmp to not be able to play any files and we can still play from any other media player like Rocket Player, Google Music, ES Media Player, etc..

idk...poweramp and all other players (including streaming apps) work for me on clean 1.3. If you're not running any audio mods, and tried to uninstall and reinstall, I'm not sure what the problem could be. Maybe try updating from 1.2 to 1.3? Backup apps and flash. What could it hurt to have the latest rom anyway...
mine did the same. there was an update in the play store to make it work right on 4.3 and it works great now

Yeah, that's what I was saying before. Poweramp had an update for 4.3. I probably didn't notice it because I just downloaded the latest which has the 4.3 update...oh well...

Ya that's what I thought too. We downloaded the revision 530 which supposedly has the 4.3 fixes, but still isn't playing.
EDIT - I updated to CleanROM 1.3 on my & gf's N7 and now PowerAmp is playing files normally. Not sure why CleanROM 1.2 broke the app.
I'm using the play music app and when a new song supposed to begin it doesn't start, I mean that there is a silence until I'm turning on the screen, why and is there any solution?
Sincerely,

I just tried the "Music" player (the blue+green logo) and it's works great.
I'm also using recovery-clockwork-6.0.3.7-serranoltexx.tar.
I think to remove the play app.

Yep, try removing and then reinstalling it - sometimes such a simple thing solves the issue.
Another day, another question...
Has anyone been able to get SW/HU controls to work on any other players besides the default one on 5.1.1 ROMs? I've tried XposedMTC and the CarService application, but XposedMTC does not work at all, probably due to it only being compatible up to 4.4.4, and CarService starts up a completely different music player. There was an option to get the SWC to work with Spotify, but that didn't work at all. I am guessing that my Android version is too new? I also tried different music players, such as VLC and PowerAmp (which has been confirmed to work using CarService), but had no success in getting that to work either. Anyways, if anyone has any tips/tricks/guides, I am willing to do it. Even if it involves having to mess around with some system files, as I really like the CM13 music player.
Flash the latest Malaysk rom and Carservice will work with your sw controlling 3rd party apps.

I used this and it worked with both my SW/HU controls, but it would only work in Spotify. When I used a player that was listed to work with MTCDTools, it would keep opening up Spotify and play a random song.

Yeah. I installed v1.2. I checked to make sure that the button wasn't mapped to launch spotify. Still getting the same results.
Are you sure you do not have conflicts with e.g. CarService? Definitely it looks like other apps are listening for key press.
What is the second player that you are trying to control?
