I think Music is one of the poor features of the phone.

are you serious??
your question is invalid.
Yes, we DO hear music, either from the speaker, or from the headphones. However, the speaker is not the loudest you can find out there
But sounds from headphones are high quality and loud
My phone don't play music very loud even if the headphones are connected. Does exist an application, which can incrase the volume of my Blade?

use poweramp and check if u have inserted the headphones properly in the jack.
We have android Music 4.0 on Blade I have been using it for a couple of months and got hold of a MIUI Player , its good but dont know if it genuine or not as I have not seen the MiUi Music Player myself.
Great app. I most like the "sleep mode".
It works all right
You can't install it as a normal apk. You'll have to copy it to your /system/app folder with a root enabled file manager (like ES File Explorer or Astro) and rename it to Music.apk.
Don't forget to copy the original one to the SD card (or rename it to Music.bak or something) in case anything goes wrong.
Link
Btw the File Manager works as well, installation is the same. I prefer the MIUI one because a)it looks awesome and b)it has a built in FTP feature which is even more awesome.

You guys can also check out here for more Miui stuff to mingle with.
I've tried the (older) music player version given on there on my gf's Blade and everything was working fine; even the lyrics search which wouldn't work on my Defy... Some apps there are even installable apk if I remember right. But nevertheless, those are system apps; so yes, it is better to push them with adb or a root-enable file explorer AND change their permissions to 644 (same as the other apps in /system/app folder) + reboot.
But all that being said, I much prefer the N7 music player (free from the Play Store) as mentioned here. I've also given an ICS Music.apk player (taken from ICS's system dump release by Google some months ago) that works perfectly fine on CM7 on a post on that same thread..
Enjoy and rock on!
No music on the Blade: good one!!

Hey guys, I don't know whether ur scared of the topic but no one has found ways to better the sound quality of the phone . Everyone is able to port stuff and create roms but never anything about sound improvement like porting dolby from other android mobile.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Nothing wrong with my Desire, I can make calls just fine thank you!!
I reckon people with issues with the volume are the ones that will suffer from deafness early in life as they probably crank up the volume on all devices
i didnt mean voice calls, i meant when playing music through the ear phones. before u say get better headphones, i got senheissers cx400s. the sound quality is rubbish at best. my n95 and n73 both played music better than the htc phone with the same headphones.
I got to agree on the sound quality issue. The music is just too flat on desire.
I am reconsidering galaxy s and iphone4 due to this...
Hopefully someone can port a better music player or fix the issue soon...
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Surely its a hardware limitation.
Aside from putting a better dac in the device (probably impossible) what can be done about sound quality? I don't get how a better music player could help.
You can try with DSP Manager... included in some modded rom... like mine...
music is fine on mine (dsp manager + Sennheiser CX 400 II's)
it was rubbish compared to my ipod shuffle using the same headphones, before using dsp manager
I use mixzing player with equalizer with a custom preset for better quality.
What's dsp manager? How to use it?
yeah what is the dsp manager ive been hearing about

DSP manager is an equalizer built into the ROM. It can have seperate settings for phone speaker, bluetooth and headphones. I used to to take some of the tinniness out of phone speaker. It's in CM6, and probably a lot of other roms too.

Don't know if this can be flashed to OD, but OD is not based on Cyanogen, it is a build from Android source.
DSP manager is brilliant. The compressor pops a bit too much for my liking though.

hey guys just wanted to ask if the equalizer is better than the ones found on music apps on market place like mixzing, astro player, etc
Just to let you know...I've flashed it onto OpenDesire 4.04 and it works...
You need the DSP Manager apk, too.
I took the one from this Post: http://ip208-100-42-21.static.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7999377&postcount=6
Thanks =)
Thru loud speaker, Desire wasn't really that good. But thru headsets with Mixzing, is quite good.
completely agree. speakers on the phone are horrible. i think im gonna invest in a new pair of earphones. hope i dont get any compatibility issues which bug other users

As far as i know, a couple music players work with them but not too well. the stock Evo music player had play/pause functionality, but after I tried installing other music players, cubed for example, I lost the functionality in the stock music player. I'm not sure about this music player, because im letting my brother borrow my headphones, but i will definitely try them when i get a chance.
Also, does anybody know if their is a music player that will give the song changing controls in the notification bar? same concept as when in a call and the notification bar is pulled down, the "end call" button is right there. I see it as being a simple concept but im not a developer so no disrespect to any of the awesome devs out in the world. still waiting for full Desire HD rom
Yes, i guess i did forget to mention this isn't from cyanogen, but it was from an aosp "like" rom that had the g2 launcher on it. I pulled it form that, but since it looked like the cyanogenmod one, i just uploaded it

Awesome Beats for SGS3:
-Root required
1) Tested on SGS3(i747) and GNote(i717) and GNex(GSM)
2) Root Required (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746665)
3) Download the attachments “AwsomeBeats.apk” and “com.motioncoding.beats-2.apk”
4) Copy AwsomeBeats.apk to /system/app/...make sure to fix permissions to rw-r-r ( you can use Root Explorer or similar software)
5) Install “com.motioncoding.beats-2.apk”
6) Use“Beat audio installer” in the app drawer to install “Awesome Beats” and it will ask for reboot.
7) After reboot, head to settings> sounds>music effects and change the music effects to “Awesome Beats” ( music fx stopped working message may come up, but it only happens once)
8) Head to “Awesome Beats” app in the app drawer and enable audio boost for speaker, headset and Bluetooth.( and any other changes you like)
9) Done….
Note: if it doesn’t work for you simply reset the music effect to Music Fx and uninstall the app.
Thanks to immor2al
Nice. Thanks!!!!!

What are the advantages to this app?
is it just to adjust audio settings? (I have an HP ENVY beats edition so it has the audio control)
Hmmm I'm not seeing a single change other than now I get a message every so often saying MusicFX.apk has stopped
I've following the OP's instructions, and tried this using AudioGalaxy , Google Music and Samsung's own music player. Nothing I do in the Awesome Beats settings app has any effect at all...
Has this been tested and confirming working on a Sprint Device?
It provides Audio boost ( plus equalizer and bunch of other stuff) for speaker, headset and Bluetooth and to me tunein radio and music sounds better. When I got my SGS3, I was a bit disappointed with audio output quality comparing with iPhone 4 but this app fixed it for me.

I tried it on Telus SGS3 which is similar to AT&T and it works. I haven't got musicfx has stopped working message at all and I am sorry you got that. I even tried it on my friends GNex and it worked. Did you open the app after installation and enabled the Boost option?

Yes, I enabled Boost in the Settings (vs leaving it at MusicFX).
Here's the steps I did so we're all clear... note this is on a Sprint Rooted S3..
1) First copied the AwesomeBeats.apk to the system/app folder and changed permissions as indicated
2) Ran the com.motioncoding.beats-2.apk which caused the phone to install 'something'.
3) Went into settings, changed the Music Effect to "Beats"
Immediately received an error about MusicFX not responding.
4) Tried several music apps and while music was playing went into the new AwesomeBeats app in the app drawer and modified a few settings to extremes to try to see if anything worked.. no sound change..
5) Thought maybe a reboot was in order (not mentioned in OP but hey never know). After reboot, verified beats was still selected in settings, it was.
6) Retried music and beats setting app.. no change.
7) Noticed another app in the App Drawer called "Install BeatsAudio" or something similar... CLicked that, and it said it was installing some files and then it rebooted the phone.. (I thought Aha! OP forgot to mention this)
8) After reboot, verified Beats was still selected in settings... tried Music and AwesomeBeats app again... still no changes no matter what settings were tried.
Since then I've removed the AwesomeBeats.apk from the system folder and rebooted.. menu is now gone in settings and things seem 'back to normal' (though nothing really changed that I could tell).
So there you have it... everything I've tried.
BTW this is on a STOCK Rooted S3 from Sprint... no custom ROM nor Kernel... perhaps that's a difference that is required and not mentioned?
The steps are all good....when you install com.motioncoding.beats-2.apk, you need to used the app called Beats Audio Installer to get Beats audio working, music fx stopped for me only once but after that everything worked perfectly.
did you try to use the get "Boost audio" enable in the app after?

I think the only player I have installed that uses it is Google Play Music player. It has to [pardon my terminology if this isn't 100%] hook into the android 'music effect' that you set in settings.
If you guys are you using the stock TW Music Player and say that it works...well check again. This mod will not work with the Stock TW Music Player because of the libs that are associated with the stock app. This mod will only work if you use a different music player other than the stock one. I'm personally using the CM9 Music Player (not Apollo) and it works flawless.
I've attached the apk for the Transparent CM9 music app. :highfive:
Worked great for me. I played a audio podcast in Pocketcast and Google Play. Google play with beats audio enabled is noticeably better. Great job and thanks. I like it.
I have awesome beats on my infuse and it's not much of a difference from my stock GS3 sound. Maybe a bit more bassie but nothing like beats audio on HTC one x! Now that's the best sound I've heard coming out of a phone. Just saying...
But me love me GS3
White Hot! GS3.
Happy to hear that it worked for you guys, please don't forget to hit the "Thank you Button" as I am new and don't have many.
I have tried this MOD with Poweramp, Google Music and Tunein radio and have noticed %40 to %50 increase in audio output. When I first got my SGS3, I started using the stock Samsung music player and I was pretty disappointed but this mod solved my problem.

When beats is on you can turn it off in notifications then disabled beats notification app by going to settings > apps > all
Find HtcBeatsNotify
Click it and then disabled beats shouldn't ever come back.

Love this device, but there's two things left on my list of things to update/modify which I'm stuck on.
I rooted the device
went through the Xposed catalog
updated to KitKat
downloaded a bunch of apps like Dropbox, Google Drive, Coursera, emulators, games, synced all my e-mail/social accounts, etc. etc.
bought the Samsung OTG adapter to connect a 1TB external HDD (Game of Thrones Seasons 1 - 3!)
Later I plan on getting a controller and keyboard for games and productivity.
So the basis for this entire post;
The last 2 things I'm trying to get on my tablet is flash and Viper4Android.
My GSIII on PacRom (4.3) has flash enabled using an older version of Dolphin Browser (allows me to watch full episodes of the Colbert Report/Daily Show on Comedy Central). Also, Viper4Android works flawlessly.
I can't seem to find a solution for my Note 2014 tho.
My main questions are does anybody here know how to enable flash and install Viper4Android on the Note 2014?
What I've tried so far;
trying to enable Flash
-downloaded Dolphin/Boat/other flash enabled browsers after dl'ing the recommended files from Adobe's official website
-use the old version of Dolphin the same way my phone has it
trying to install Viper4Android
-install to System/apps then another suggestion to install from System/priv-apps (all permissions set as suggested)
-followed a few guides that talked about editing build.prop (found a solution for the Note 3, however, the lines required for me to edit weren't there on the Note 2014)
Mainly I don't expect my tablet to turn into an amazing sound system, but one of my minor gripes is that it's speakers are somewhat quiet. If V4A doesn't work for us, is there a sound hack to increase how loud we can set the volume (especially for movie watching, even MX Player's 200% sound increase is a little lacking for me)
Thanks! regardless even if there's no known solutions yet.

This kind of works! Thanks! With one caveat however, I played a few songs using PlayerPro (bought the full version and is my preferred player) the stock Samsung Music Player, and Google Music Player; but it doesn't seem to fully function. Driver Status says Processing: No.
So I set the FX Compatibly Mode from Normal --> Compatible and selected Force Enable V4A.
Retested the three players on my tablet, and the Google Music Player has an audible difference. I tested this by putting the reverb to some ridiculous setting, and the Google Player was obviously audibly different, while Player Pro and the stock music app were the same. Can't check Driver Status in Compatibility Mode however, but it was clear GMP works with V4A while the other 2 did not.
So now, the problem changes from getting V4A to work (because it does with Google's music app!) to getting it to work with PlayerPro and universally across apps in general. Curious if there's anyway to do this? Im hoping to find a way to get V4A to work with MXPlayer and PlayerPro as well!

Make sure you delete or freeze MusicFX from your system. This will ensure that V4A is the default system sound equalizer. And of course make sure it's installed as a priv-app.
