Hey everyone, I've soft-bricked my Samsung Galaxy S 3 i747m (Rogers, currently unlocked on a Bell network). I want to flash back to the Bell stock rom if I could. I know how to get in to download mode and use Odin to flash a rom, but for whatever reason it doesn't seem to be overwriting the existing rom and settings. Is there something I don't know about the Galaxy S 3 747 to get it to take a new rom? Any help is much appreciated!
Sure you got the right version?
Make sure the rom you downloaded is the bell's stock and not att or Roger
And make sure you run Odin as admin

Is it possible to restore a AT&T Galaxy 3 with a Rogers Galaxy 3 Rom?
why would you want to do it?

why wouldn't he? maybe he bought an AT&T one and wants the Rogers bloat instead of AT&T's.
We have an AT&T device however it does not install any of the rogers applications. The AT&T apps are completely useless to us as the device is unlocked and in Canada. I am going to have to root and then install the other firmware I assume. Can someone point me to the download.

Scroll down for the rooted rogers one.
Of course make sure you have your correct APN.
Also here is a semi custom one based on Rogers I believe

Yep, I've never tried it but I have tried the other one I listed and its a great ROM. Since I'm not sure if he wants just a blank slate or a custom ROM I linked both.
I forgot to mention to flash the VLDLK4 modem is going custom ROM.
I would like to load the Rogers rom to the phone..... its the easiest place to start for me. Once that is done then I can root the phone and load AOKP or CM.... Do I have to root before loading rogers rom or can i just use odin? If I load the Rogers ROM does that remove all the AT&T stuff?

hold on dude. is your s3 running the stock at&t firmware now? if so, you dont need to flash the rogers firmware onto it just to go ahead and flash an aokp/cm rom over it again. just think about what firmware/rom you would prefer running on your device and go from there. custom or stock?
If you just want something completely custom in the vein of aokp or cm then just root or flash rogers prerooted in Odin to avoid tripping flash counter and then install custom recovery.
Never saw if you were rooted already. If so just flash an at&t custom ROM and use rogers APN.

Is it unlocked ? Unlock it and then flash a stock rooted ROM in odin for Rogers to root it then flash what ever ROM after that. Of course make sure you install CWM or TWRP and you are on your way.
Yes it is unlocked so that I can put any sim I want into the device. Will I lose my unlock with doing these things?

You won't lose the unlock, no...
Flash the rooted stock image, AT&T or Rogers, it doesn't matter, and follow the instructions to get a recovery on:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
Then follow whatever the ROM thread says for whatever you're flashing, and flash it, then last flash a Roger's modem from here:

Hello, I have rooted my stock Galaxy Note 3 T-Mobile 4.3 and now I heard that Samsung is rolling out soon KitKat update for the Note 3.
My questions is, do I have to unroot and return to stock then update then root the exact same way I did before ?
Does updating to KitKat require a different root method ?
Can I restore my apps and how ? I dont seem to know how to use Titanium backup and I even purchased it!
Please help me and thanks

I believe that you can update to Kitkat via Odin when the official update comes to T-mobile while rooted but you will lose root in the process. As far as rerooting, I believe you can flash recovery with Odin and then flash SuperSu in recovery to get rooted again, although, I think I read somewhere that it wasn't recommended anymore?. Not sure though. I used auto root method which I'm sure would still work just fine with kitkat. For restoring apps I would recommend the App backup and restore from the play store. Very easy to use.
Why dont you flash a 4.4 rom that's out there

I generally NEVER accept OTA updates until Devs have a chance to look at it and okay it, or see what others feedback is after accepting. Don't take for granted that you are rooted and have unlocked boot loader access. And until official KitKat is released its all hearsay as to when it'll come out.
Hi everyone, I rooted my Galaxy S4, but I lost my backup files and now I need to restore all as factory, I mean Galaxy S4 T-Mobile with the original android modified by Samsung and T-Mobile Anyone knows how to restore my cellphone with the original systems????
Flash stock firmware with Odin. There is a thread in general with stock firmwares
Don't forget the factory reset, if you want factory original out of the box.
Pp.
When I first rooted my S3 I was looking for ROMs to try. I remember coming across a link to download the stock Rogers ROM with the bloatware removed.
For the life of me I am not able to find it again now that I would like to go back to the stock ROM. Does anyone know of a stock Rogers Canada ROM for the S3 (i747)?
Thanks,
imcndn
Depending on your bootloader, you may not be able to flash a de-bloated ROM if the de-bloated ROM flashes an older bootloader.
The boot loader is I747UCUEMJB
Do you have an i747 or i747m? Only the i747 (at&t version) has an mjb bootloader and flashing a Rogers ROM onto an i747 may or may not work well.
