NOTE: If anyone has any further questions about modems on the S3, please note that I have moved on to another device. Sorry!
Hello XDA!
I’ve taken over this thread, and I’m going to try to keep things a bit more organized.
First, you need to identify your model; This is fairly simple, you just need to either know what carrier it came from, or have the box it came in. If your phone came from AT&T, it’s an I747U. If your phone is from a Canadian carrier such as Telus, Rogers, Bell, Fido, Koodo, Sasktel, or MTS, you probably have an I747M. If you’re unsure, look on the bottom of the box it came in; Canadian models should all say SGH-I747M, while I believe AT&T models only say SGH-I747. Please let me know if yours says something different.
Things you’ll need:
- Root (Technically you don't.)
- Custom recovery (See my signature for help with this!)
- The ability to click “Search” when you need help
- A basic ability to read
- And most importantly, a GALAXY S3 I747!
All modems posted in this thread will be flashable ZIPs, usable in either ClockworkMod or TWRP.
How to flash:
1. Choose a firmware from below and download it to your device’s SD card or internal storage.
2. Reboot into your custom recovery.
3. Select the option to “Install” (same as installing a ROM) and locate the ZIP from step 1.
4. After flashing, clearing your cache and dalvik cache is strongly recommended.
5. Reboot and enjoy!
Modems are listed in the following format:

F.A.Q.
Q: What is a modem, anyway?
A: The modem is the chip inside your phone that controls the connection to the cellular towers. This is a collection of different firmware versions for that chip.
Q: Firmware…?
A: Firmware is a type of software that directly controls how a piece of hardware operates. It’s a bit like a driver on your computer. (Yes, I’ve oversimplified this. Wikipedia can tell you more.)
Q: Which one do I use?
A: Make sure you’re using one for the correct model; Beyond that, it’s completely up to you. Results will vary from location-to-location, and even device-to-device. Try them yourself and see which one works best for you. (Note: Some people say that their reception gets better over time if they let the firmware “settle”. This doesn't make much sense, as the firmware doesn’t work like that, but feel free to try anyway.)
Q: I flashed the wrong model’s firmware, am I screwed?
A: Probably not. Just reflash the correct firmware and clear your dalvik cache, and you’ll probably be back in business. In worst-case situations, I’ve seen a phone require a full ROM reinstall including wiping /data, but that’s the price you pay for not reading the directions.
Q: Can I install this if I am not rooted?
A: Technically, root is not required for this, but how do you plan on getting the custom recovery on there without root?
Q: Will this give me LTE?
A: If you’re not getting LTE now, you probably won’t get any different results with a different firmware. Check your carrier’s network map to ensure you have LTE coverage in your area.
Q: My data/voice/SMS performance is much worse with X firmware…
A: Try another! Keep track of which ones you’ve tried and post back here with your results. It’s even more helpful if you give us your general location along with your results.
Q: My phone says “4G”, but my speeds are terrible… Will a different modem firmware fix this?
Short A: Maybe, but probably not.
Long A: Are you still on a carrier-built ROM? Carrier ROMs “lie” to you and label HSPA (which is a 3G technology) with a “4G” badge. This was a marketing ploy long before LTE ever existed. Now that everyone’s used to being on “4G” networks, they needed to come up with a way to differentiate LTE as something “new”, so they kept “4G” as the label for HSPA, and have added the “4G LTE” label for when you’re actually getting real 4G service. Most custom ROMs fix this, and properly tell you if you’re getting “3G”, “H”(for HSPA), “H+” (for HSDPA or HSPA-DC), or “4G” (for LTE). Flashing the modem firmware can't fix this specific problem.

Thanks for this. I must say, I tried out the lh1 modem. I live in Philly and for reasons I don't understand, it doesn't work so well for my area. When I did speed tests on it, all the servers that were able to connect to were all for the Midwest region of the USA. Lg1 seems to work best for me in the mid-Atlantic region. Just my observation so far and figured I'd pass it on in case someone was wondering.

you will have to ask one of the mods.
Good idea adding the map. Get tired of people asking which modem is best.
Nice work brother. I listed in Directory as you asked. You may want to blanket all the AT&T ROM threads and post a link, so people know they are here:good:
Thank you for putting this together.
Cant edit map details on your map for whatever reason. I can add locations though. If someone wants to add this to the map, feel free.
These tests are on the Stock UCALG1 Samsung Rom. Just flashed back from CM9, unfortunately too buggy to my liking still.

Alright members of the I957 community, I know it's been a long time coming, but I'm proud to (finally) present to you a custom ROM designed specifically for our devices: Contingency! There are a couple of things I need to rattle off in this description before I can get down to business. 1. Due to some error in updater-scripts causing incredible lag with CWM flashes, this ROM is Odin-based only. If you aren't very good with Odin/need a refresher, look down below for a quick little tutorial to help get you started. 2. Due to my lack of an actual cellular data account for this device, it's difficult for me to tell you whether or not the data is working... I'm 99% it is functional in this build, but in future builds I may need a tester to discern for me.
Features & Added Apps
Da_g's OC Kernel
CWM Recovery
Rooted
Zipaligned
Deodexed
Bloat Removed
Build.prop performance tweaks
System Tuner for OC/UV
Titanium Backup
Go Launcher HD (If you're a Touchwiz hater)
As you can probably see, this is a very bland ROM right now; I just had my first successful Odin flash of it yesterday, and the testing lead all the way up to today.
Stuff To Add/Do (Taking Suggestions)
Extended Power Menu
CRT-Off
Bravia
Xloud
Edit Name in build.prop
Put data monitor back in
Theming
Due to my little experience in the world of Tablet modding, I could really use some help as to what you guys would like to see in future builds of Contingency.
Instructions For Odin Flash (It's In Red Because It's Important)
A data wipe is optional, but I recommend it.
Download the .rar of Contingency from the link below
Extract out "Contingency vX.tar" to a place you'll remember it
Open up Odin
Navigate to your Contigency.tar and load it into the PDA slot
Make sure your Tab is in download mode (Power Button + Both Volumes)
MAKE SURE RE-PARTITION IS UNCHECKED!!!!!!111!!!!!111?!?!?!!11!11!%[email protected]^#
Hit start
Go grab a snack, sit back, and watch that progress bar
Screenshots
Look at your Stock Tab... Now back to me. Unfortunately, I'm not your stock tab, but that's what Contingency looks like.

I'll flash this in about 12 hours when I am back at home with my i957, and I'll let you know how data is doing. If I get no data action, what is the fallback to get to the original rom?
Thanks very much for this!

if you want wifi hotpost use quick tether from market. it activate usb and wifi tethering.
I'm gonna charge mine up for a little bit and try this rom out later. I only got 30% charge currently.
Bought mine used a couple of months ago. Still has an active SIM in it from the original purchasers account. Guess the termination fee was too steap or they needed the cash and decided to live with the $30 a month
I mainly use it on wifi but will test it out on ATT network to see. I just pop it on once in a while to see if it's still active. Just checked and it was!
If it's a nogo I can just use Odin with the original rom from ATT/Samsung? I already have it downloaded as I've use it twice to reset mine.
Waiting for ICS sucks!
Does this still have the ATT data monitor app?
Thanks!

Yea the only one that worried me was the 3g booster and dalvik heapsize. Honeycomb also has a few already built in as most edits are based off of gingerbread.
Cool stuff tho

No issues with flashing the rom. First bootup was a little scary as it stayed on the Android animation screeen for a while. Wound up doing a factory reset once up and running to clear up some issues. Seems to get more responsive after it sits for a while and after a couple of reboots. Had a couple of issues with updating the app store and maps but it seemed to work itself out after a couple of tries.
ATT data is functional for those who are interested. I don't live in a LTE area but it's getting closer by the month.
ATT data monitor app is gone. No biggy but was nice to see how much free data I have left....Hoping original owner keeps my data plan going!
Active applications widget can be added but only clicks when touched. Guess the app is no longer included....No big deal just thought I'd mention it.
Looks like there is alot of stuff to play around with as far as tweaks go. Not sure what they all do but guess I'll check them out later.
Thanks again!
I'll let you guys know if I see anything else that is worth mentioning.

Now that you mention the AT&T data monitor app from the tablet, (poster above) I was trying to get the app working on the galaxy note and I failed. I installed the apk from the tablet to the Galaxy Note via Titanium and manually... I see the app and the widget on the Note perfectly, but I am unable to link it to my phone data plan... Any ideas? I was able to get to a screen were is asking for some credentials that are out of my hands... I guess they are AT&T credentials for my account in order to set or link the monitoring app...

It would be best to save a copy of your nandroid backup somewhere safe like on your computer just in case you need it later. Not sure if Odin will nuke it or not. My tab was pretty much stock when I flashed it today as I used Odin to restore the stock rom a couple of weeks ago. If I remember correctly a folder in root is no longer there. Not 100% sure what it was called but I'm thinking it was preloaded or preinstalled. Not needed anyways as it was ATT apps/bloatware if I remember correctly.
I'm not sure about the rom failing and nandroid back thing. Maybe somebody else knows forsure.
I'm thinking if you for some reason don't like this rom you'd have to maybe use Odin to flash the stock rom back first, then install the kernel you were using and then move the nandroid back to the tab if it was deleted and then flash it back.
As soon as there is a link to download the original Stock AT&T ROM I will be installing this ROM...

Anyone else flash this on an AT&T (not rodgers) 957? (Not 957R)
Just did, it comes up, but is amazingly slowwwwwww.
Curious if anyone is seeing the same behavior...
Edit: going back to the stock boot.img did away with that problem. Appears to be related to OC kernel?
UPDATE: reflashed the "1944mhz" Da_G kernel to the boot partition (untar'ed the ODIN tar, dd'ed boot.img to blk0p8) and no slowness was observed, set to 1.72ghz, lets see what 200mhz buys me -- hopefully not a crash :-D

Mine is running fine. Better than before actually.
Broadband APN got me on LTE also. PTA didn't work. I think that one only works with phones?
Either way, I'm getting my usual ~25mbit speeds on AT&T LTE's network, so that's a good sign
Seems this ROM is a little faster, but that's based only on software install times from the play store, which is the most intensive thing I've done so far.
Looks like less lag on storage access, maybe.

I don't think the hardware should matter here, though.
I'll try the OC kernel as included in the .zip again in a little bit

Just did, it comes up, but is amazingly slowwwwwww.
Curious if anyone is seeing the same behavior...
Edit: going back to the stock boot.img did away with that problem. Appears to be related to OC kernel?

GPS working for anyone? It appears non-functional here in Texas, hasn't locked in 30 minutes and the "GPS Status" market app shows no sats locked in.
Is there possibly some config that needs to get changed to make it realize it's not in Canada anymore any should look for other birds? or something or that sort?
GPS was really solid on the stock image.
I'll try to troubleshoot but right now just curious if it's just me or all us
UPDATE: Magically started working while poking around trying to see why it may be broken. Maybe the GPS receiver just needed a lot of convincing it's in Texas now?
The rogers image has the debug level at 3, ATT at 5 (system/etc/gps.conf) -- Not that we really need that level of debug for normal use, but just another diff between ATT and rogers to note -- sure is less chatty in logcat that way
If you're having trouble getting a lock, might just be best to leave GPS on overnight and let it figure out its parameters.
ANOTHER UPDATE: Got to work, about 8 miles from my home. Tab now has no clue where it is an is using network (cell tower) location only. GPS is not receiving fixes. logcat shows the location service is making successful RPC calls to libloc, and the GPS hardware is trying, but isn't getting a real fix. Let it sit for an hour trying to get a fix, nothing. reflashed stock AT&T ROM, boot, instant fix to 20 meters.
Got back home, ATT image found it's position ~8 miles away in <1 min
So to be more specific about the "test" conditions, I usually turn GPS on only when I intend to use it, sometimes leaving it off for a day or two... This always presents a bit of a challenge for the GPS to re-lock with it's current parameters (GPS parameters drift, and are updated daily via the internet, aka AGPS). An especially good test of GPS functionality is to move more than a few miles with GPS powered down, so it has to essentially "re-fix". Seems whatever is different in the ATT image makes this process faster?
Any suggestions on what to look at? I don't know much about how GPS works on Android, but I'd guess this would be pretty easy to remedy if I knew what to hack at. It doesn't seem to be a delta in config files (there's not exactly much of those, regardless) so I'm suspecting something in a library or jar (ie: the android framework) -- you guys think the delta might be in something released by samsung? I can grab both the platform sources (957 and 957R) and compare, if I can find where some of the GPS code is (there's a LOT of code there lol!) .. I'd kinda like to learn more about android GPS anyways!

Apparently one cause of the negative experience in the first LTE rollout markets is that handsets had been programmed to downshift from LTE to EVDO at a threshold signal strength for LTE that was too high. So many users couldn't get an LTE connection or hold on to in. (See this article at S4GRU.)
The other big factor was skimpy tower coverage at the time of launch. The handset factor magnified this problem.
Any way we can download it via odin because it not showing up in my phone yet.

But you are running a custom ROM. I see that build LG8 is floating around here.
LG4 is announced as an OTA update for stock.
no the zip my phone downloaded says its lg8....the file says 04646f9535b3.update_sph-L710_LG2_to_LG8.zip
If anyone is looking for the RDF from Sprint, you can find it here:
http://device.sprintpcs.com/Samsung/SPH-L710/LG8.rdf
Looks like LG8 is real as there is an RDF page for it. I don't know who is and isn't familiar with these, but we used/found RDF pages for the Epic frequently around upgrade OS time. Most of them are test builds, but it shows a lot of information about that release.
For example, if you change the last part of the URL to LG4.rdf, you'll get a page too as that's a legit build from Sprint. However, if you change it to LG9.rdf you get nothing as that build doesn't exist.
I don't know exactly what the number means but L must be for 2012 and G is for July. I'm assuming the number stands for the build (not necessarily a specific date) of that month. So the first build in August would probably be LH1.
Since we don't have any OS updates on the horizon yet, these may not do much good, but once we start hearing more about Jelly Bean, we'll at least know when Sprint starts working on it.
And FWIW, it's formatted nicely when using IE but I know some browsers don't format those pages well at all. I'm forced to use IE at work, so it's a bummer for 99% of things.

[Mod/Fix]THE AT&T LTE Fix ver2.0 AT&T LTE, SMS, MMS Flashable Solution (4/2/13)
I guess I'll post the AT&T LTE Fix that I created a while back in its own thread since it has been very useful for everyone. I had originally posted in the Synergy and GalaxyMod threads to solve the AT&T LTE problems users were having with the Multi-Carrier ROMS. But it appears that more dev's are utilizing the Multi-Carrier format, so I'm sure this will be useful for many additional users.
I have updated the original zip I created to include the most recent files for even better LTE performance and a dedicated AT&T LTE APN. I also added the GPS config file that should help those that are having slow GPS locks.
THE AT&T LTE Fix version 2.0 (4/2/13)
As always, flash at your own risk. I'm not responsible, in any way, for what you flash, copy, fiddle with, poke, molest or otherwise screw with on your phone....
***THIS IS FOR USA AT&T SGH-I747 GALAXY S III USERS ONLY***
I highly recommend flashing this after a fresh install of a ROM or at least Factory Reset and Wipe Cache/Davik on an existing ROM
BACKUP YOUR ROM AND DATA BEFORE FLASHING!
Instructions:
1 - Reboot into recovery
2 - Make a backup/nandroid
3 - Factory Reset/Wipe Cache/Davik
4 - Flash AT&T LTE Fix ver2.0 zip file you just downloaded
5 - Reboot and enjoy.
Download Flashable Zip Here:http://www.mediafire.com/?85ir1gd2h3c7t6f
This fix may be regional based and not work for everyone. If you have LTE/Phone/SMS/MMS problems on stock based ROM's, then this will not help you - that is an AT&T issue in your area.
Once again, THANK THE DEVELOPERS OF THE ROM's! They were the masterminds that allowed us to enjoy some incredible ROM's on our devices. This is just a fix for AT&T users that are in LTE zones - allowing the Inbound/Outbound Phone Calls, SMS, MMS and blazing LTE data to work.
One thing...... I've noticed a few users upload my previous zip (ver 1.0) to their dropbox or other file sharing sites and claim it as their own....this is shady..... don't be a leach...... I'm happy to help and provide any assistance when I can, but I do NOT tolerate plagiarism of any kind. I know if you copy my stuff, so don't bother. Just copy and paste the link above and everyone's happy!

Correct - does not matter if ROM is Odex/DeOdex. It does have an updated APN config file that contains the correct AT&T LTE APN, but it will not replace your existing APN if you already have one set up (unless you do a "factory reset" before flashing the fix.

yes, it works perfect. got LTE too...I have been flashing those roms since the beginning, but you could not edit the apn, then I seen this tool and tried it, it injects the att apn perfect. So those roms work perfect for me, it may not for others, wifi/data/gps all run smooth, what else would I need.
You can flash any of the roms, just DO NOT do your email setup until after the rom has been completely installed, at first boot you will get FC on playstore over and over, so you have to be quick, I have a few tools that I flash before the rom is booted, just use root explorer push a playstore apk from one of the att roms, then setup your email, and bingo, everything runs perfect.
my wife is running a sprint rom on her att, and it has been running perfect now for months. so why wait for a rom to be ported over, I didn't want to wait, I am no dev, but it did not take a rocket scientist to figure out how to cheat the system. My motto has always been, if man made it, I am going to beat it.
Hmmm....all this did was delete all my APN's. I'm on CM 10.0.0 Stable

Yes, it was quite clear it would delete the settings. That was not hard to understand...I expected that. I also expected it to inject new settings.
The reason I was interested in overwriting my settings is because I have been on many different ROMs and had recently had issues with my APN settings. I had 3 different ones that all seemed to work to varying degrees, almost seemingly needing to switch every month.
I know the ATT APN is out there a million different places, there is also a million different versions of that ATT APN floating around as well. I assumed that this package probably does more than just regurgitate those settings and therefore asked what specific ones it set in the phones it had been flashed in.
But instead of helping me on that level....you decided to play Gestapo and not only ask questions that aren't helpful, but answer questions that weren't being asked.
Regardless, obviously I wasn't blaming the OP and maker of this issue...no one else seems to have had this problem and I eventually got up and going again by clean flashing a new rom....

good luck
Good job on releasing this, I'm sure it will help a lot of people.
Just wanted to say that this replaces the features.xml which is a place where a lot of tweaks occur. It looks like you've included most of them, but there are still a few missing (One I can see is increasing joinable contacts). So if a rom says anything about CSC edits and you flash this over, it MIGHT break some of them.

When this correct the 4g lte problem where the calls don't show sometimes and sms come real late?

Yes, that is correct. I tried to include as many CSC mods/options that I've routinely seen or used (which are verified & stable). Anyone that uses a new custom feature that requires CSC modding will need to simply add that in the CSC file. But this should give a very good base w/ most features included.
Thanks

I assumed that everyone would wipe data/factory reset that it was a given your APN's would be replaced. For those that don't, this will replace your APN file and replace with the correct LTE apn settings - which fixes some problems regarding incorrect APN's/problems. This was intentional and helps way more often than hurts. Only those who are not following the instructions will be effected by the apn replacement.

Glad everyone is liking it! I think I'm going to create another zip that will have some addigional files and will allow you to flash any North American SG3 ROM and mod it for AT&T.

Hey guys, I recently found an SPH-P100 in a dumpster (score! :victory and I was quite disappointed to see that there's a terrible lack of development for these devices. As such, I've forked the newest device configuration available on github, and I'll be working to release a wider variety of ROMs and to complete hardware support as much as possible. Unfortunately, there is very little I can do to address the complete lack of 3G support, as I have no service whatsoever on my device.
Now, the ROM! This is a clean build of PAC-man 4.3 for p1c. I have removed the hardcoded verizon-specific properties and model identifiers as a first step towards proper support of both Verizon and Sprint models, but no functionality is changed from the newest CM10.1 builds.
I notice that there are not any PAC builds for p1(l|n) posted either, so if there is adequate interest I may begin builds for those devices as well.
TWRP 2.6.3.0 is the included recovery, and has full SELinux support. (Compatible with KitKat ROMs!)

first up - great to see someone working on development for the p1c - good score finding one in the bin!
to make things clearer - i was never a developer for the p1c, my old tablet (the p1 GSM version) was broken by my youngest son recently. my work on the p1c was purely guess work / diagnosed via my testers. p1c lost it's support from it's main developer (jt1134) before kernel 3.0 was released so without a developer to work on p1c related issues, it was hit and miss all the way. both humberos and myself had it booting, but it never worked with data (though attempts were made). now due to a generous donation from one of my CDMA testers, i will soon receive a Sprint tablet he has spare so i can continue developing - which means it will be a lot easier for me to work on issues facing the CDMA variants (but will never be able to test data myself as I live in Australia, not USA).
however - the more developers that work on the p1c the better, so please keep working on whatever you can - also working on something different to CM is definitely called for as i believe the users deserve a choice between custom ROMS for their SGT7.
if you wish to have a crack at data already - shoot me a pm and i'll give you some commits to look into that may help you on your way.
I am another P1C user, the last build around here that worked for me was alrodger's 4.1.2
Terenceng's does not work on my P1C, I am on verizon and it doesn't find the carrier and never activates.
P1C is only $75 on ebay these days for refurbished, great value.
I was kinda hoping to find a kitkat build for p1c that works but none exists and doesn't seem forthcoming by anyone.
I guess I will try 4.3.1
Does this have working usb and wifi tether? That's a biggie for me.

assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") ==
and a long list of devices
does that mean I have a device not in that list?
it then says
"E:Error executing updater binary in zip"
Also on 4.1.2 on my Sprint tab 7. I'm downloading and will give it a run. I dont have 3G but I'll report back after install.
terenceng is working on 4.4 and has "Coming Soon" for the PC1 but been a while. so now one is working on 4.4.
thanks ultravioletnanokitty for giving the P100 some love.
Update : ROM installed with out issue also used PAC gapps. WiFi OK camera OK feels quicker than 4.1.2. So all good for last 30 minute of use. Thanks for this rom dude nice job.
Cheers
update: okay I remembered how to get back to basics and I used heimdall to sideload cwm bootloader recovery
very fun looking rom, however it suffers from the same problem as Terenceng's:
it does not find the verizon radio/carrier and crashes when I try to manually activate it

Hi again, as stated before I do not have 3G connection plan on my Sprint tab, So I cannot test connectivity to 3G. All other functionality I can test.
Rom working nicely, few issues with following apps:
Netflix: movie never starts playing
Youtube: video never starts playing, "There was a problem while playing, Touch to retry"
Pandora: Audio does not start
Google Play Music: Audio does not start
Timely alarm clock: The set time to ring caused app stop
Navigation in all these apps is OK just issue when playing something
Apps working well:
iHeartRadio: Working OK
Gmail: Ok
Camer: pictures OK
Ebay: seems to be working ok but have not tested placing a bid
Let me know what else I can check, weekdays have little time to test but should be able to get something done.
Let me know what you want me to check or report on?
Cheers

Hey great job on the ROM, however I have found some bugs. Upon installing the keyboard didn't work. I installed hackers keyboard. Web videos and audio also do not seem to work either. I was also wondering if charging with USB while the device is on could be enabled.

media playback is flat-out broken in all p1x 4.3+ roms, i believe... also, i've never found charging while the device is on to work at all... if i leave it plugged into my laptop with the screen off overnight, it gets up to 99%. if i want to fully charge it the only option i've found is to power it off and plug it in. i don't have the original samsung charger or cable, though, so that could be it. regarding the keyboard, are you using gapps? i am on my tab, and i don't have any issues... it could be an issue with the aosp keyboard, though.
I just also recently picked up one of these guys, my actual intentions for mine is to get it on verizon prepaid using a extravert as a donor phone and tethering the 3g. I seen a guy offering a service to flash them but I am a bit unsure I would rather do it myself. Have you ever looked into this yet. You might get more bars with verizon than you do with sprint. Plus at like 10 bux a month unlimited internet isn't tp bad ( if you buy a $30 card good for 3 monthes IE $10 a month)
Let me know if I can be of assitance, Looking to flash a light weight rom.

It is my understanding (but not firsthand experience) that verizon can detect this within a couple of months and kill the imei, so be careful.
Instead I got onto a friend's family plan for $10 a month legit (but data cap of course)
Do I install this in recovery?

Lets say I work for Verizon in a department that has privy info and tools at my disposal and I will tell you we have a tool called MVD it is a Mobile Virtual Diagnostic it can detect root and will show if the tool is run. The thing is it is only loaded for tools that have the most current version of My Verizon application installed 10.0 or higher. Anything prior to that it won't load your info so root can't be seen with general tech tools. Just FYI... I am happy you all are working on SCH-I800 But I can't seem to find the the Root and Tar files to load... Any image files link?

Well, that explains the lack of sound and the fact that all video apps crash.
Seriously though, this ROM is a significant improvement for me compared to Cyanogenmod 9.1 (4.0.4). My Tab is far more stable than it was, and has only crashed on me once, forcing me to do a factory reset.
Can I flash back to an earlier ROM, say 4.2.2 or 4.0.4, without bricking my Tab? I have seen on the AT&T Galaxy S 3 (SGH-i747) board that S 3s that updated OTA to 4.3 will hard brick if flashed to an older ROM, so I am concerned.
Also, how close in hardware is the p1c to the Galaxy S GT-i9000? I have several i9000 ROMs on my computer, and if it is close enough, I might be able to get media working on mine. Worth a try. :fingers-crossed:
