Hi all,
Got a new GSIII from Virgin Mobile in Canada (Bell clone). The unit works fine. I created a IPSEC with PSK VPN configuration. The VPN connects but all data stops flowing (cannot surf, cannot access anything inside the VPN cloud or outside). This is unique to the Galaxy S III 4.0.4 seems.
I have a Galaxy Nexus and a Galaxy Tab 2.0 and neither one is exhibiting the same issue (i.e. The once the VPN tunnel is created, all data flows smoothly).
I called Samsung and got the run-around stating it was a Google issue.
Anyone else had this issue?

Does anybody tryed VPN client for HTC3300, supporting Windows Mobile 5.0 and Nortel Contivity switch?
I have tried several solutions, incl. Bluefire VPN, AnthaVPN, ApaniVPN, NCP client - but could not get satisfactory result - some of them doesn't work at all, some of them couldn't establish connection or run on Windows Mobile 2003
Some experience with Bluefire VPN:
I have installed trial, it works on WiFi connection, but doesn't work on cellular (GSM/GPRS). An error -56 appears (no physical connection is present) although device connects to GPRS successfully and I could browse Internet
Could anybody advice?

My experience
I had to set up such a connection to my company VPN. Ok, I wasn't working on HTC p3300 but I was in the same condition for days. At last, I discovered that the provider was masking off the VPN frames. I had to buy another service and I had to connect to another "access point". (I don't remember how it is called exactly in GPRS). From then on I could either navigate internet or use vpn, but they are mutually exclusive for the provider policy. "we did it for security purposes..." they said. The problem is that one technician on 100 knows it. The compant was Vodafone ITALY. So I suggest you have a check with your provider. Maybe there's nothing wrong in your configuration.
Bluefire VPN is currently not compatible with WM5 AKU3. It works on devices wiht AKU2 and below. This has something to do with the way AKU3 names the GPRS data connection. It is different than previous versions.
Bluefire is aware of the issue and said they will have this corrected in the next release, due anytime now. I am running a pre-release build that the sent me and can confirm that it works with GPRS. The problem is this build breaks wifi on the device.
need some help with VOIP and the samsung galaxy S2.. I am trying to set up a secure vpn. VyprVPN so that i can use my sip client with my tel. provider over 3g. in my case Telia.. Sweden. but they seem to block all ports having to do with Sip.. and voice over IP.. has anyone got any solution to work.. using encrypted tunnel. like with VyprVPN.. I get VyprVPN to work but when connection over 3g.. I get no connection at all. Only on wifi..
any help would be really great I am so lost on this matter
Are you sure that vyprvpn is working? What I found is that the phone would say that it had connected to vyprvpn but would stop working after about a minute.
This is a known problem on the current versions of android. VPN is fubar.
Hi folks,
I have problems getting a VPN connection connected to a Fritzbox 7390.
Before I switched to the Galaxy S4 Mini I had a Galaxy S2 running being able to connect to my home router via VPN.
Now it is not possible to connect wit the S4 Mini?
Due to the fact that the S2 is running I think the S4 Mini has a problem here.
My S4 Mini Details:
- Rooted with RootKit V2.0
- Android 4.2.2
- Build: XXUAMG8
I also do not get any feedback from the device why the VPN connection is not getting established.
Does anybody has the VPN connection up and running?
Or does anybody experience the problem? Any solutions?
Thanks in advance,
NoFear
Did you try it on your S2 recently?
My telco here in Singapore denies all VPN connections when connected via the default 3G APN. But when you change the APN to the one used by 3G dongles for PCs, VPN connections magically work.
Not sure if its the case for your telco (could be a recent implementation) - you could try calling up your telco to confirm!

I used the Fritzbox VPN on my old phones, just remember that it needed a patch for the vpn to work, since the fritzbox has it's on special connections. Maybe that is not within your S4 version?
Sorry to just have a hint, but now using OpenVPN.

Yes i have a VPN connection from the s4 mini DUOS to fritzbox 7390 no problem.
No patch or something needed (android 4.0 or higher) - just select "IPSec Xauth PSK" and it will work.
Search at google and you will find instructions directly from AVM for VPN connection from fritzbox to an android device.

I have problem with VPN. I am using hamachi (mesh network, no central server) and hamachi works on every other android device (exactly same setup) . And on my A50, I can't get successfully connection. Setting up app as device admin is not option because there is no app, only 3 certificates that are installed and add VPN setup. I know there is issues with samsung devices and VPN, any chances that is fixed on some way? Thy in advance.
Hey guys,
since years I have an unchanged WiFi setup at home, including 2 routers FritzBox (server and client, all connected via LAN) and a WiFi repeater (also connected via LAN).
I am having same passwords and same SSIDs on all of them. The server FritzBox is in the celler, the client FritzBox on ground floor and the WiFi Repeater on the 2nd floor. So we re living in a bigger house, as you can see.
Usually our cell phones are connecting from one device to another (server, client, repeater) when walking around depending on best signal. So a simple WiFi Roaming setup.
This was working with my old S20FE, is currently working with my wife's S21 Ultra and was also working with my Fold 4. A few days back I ve realized, that it stopped working on my Fold 4. Apparently I can say, it happened after the last android patch update from January.
When chaning to the stronger wifi (for example from server to client), its showing me no internet connectivity. But the client is having connectivity for sure, as my wife's S21 Ulta works and 2 other devices, connected to LAN port of the client are working as well.
When disabling/enabling wifi on the FOld 4, the connection is there. Walking around further the vice verca direction, same issue occurs.
Does someone else of you experiencing issues while using WiFi Roaming with your Fold 4?
Thanks and BR from Germany!
