I am running AOKP Milestone 6 on my d2att. I am trying to set up voicemail, and it seems that I cannot push the dialpad button to open the dialpad. Actually, aside the speaker button nothing works.
Anyone have any idea what is going on or how to fix?

Can anyone tell me how to switch of the DTMF tone on dialling?
THanks
PS - I'm a newbie when it comes to android - got bored with WM.
DO you mean the keyboard tones? DTMF tones are something else entirely!
when in phone press menu and look in settings for keybaord tones.
but be warned, when you turn these off, DTMF tones will also be disabled and your voicemail will stop working, because you wont be able to select menu items when you call automated lines like voicemail.
and yes i know i said they were different things entirely, and they are, it just for some stupid reason, android has linked them together!

Click to collapse
Thanks for that. I've turned them off and can still access the menus within the vodafone voicemail service. Just found them annoying especially when in work!
Hi All,
Installed the updated Mod keyboard (v27) and now whenever I long press the search key and Google voice search comes up it gives me a notification sound on completion of the search or a different one if cancelled.
These are not the stock HTC notification sounds - shorter, just a couple of notes.
It didn't do this with v25, though I am not sure it is a keyboard issue as the defaults go when updated.
I CANNOT find how to stop this - not in keyboard setting, web settings, sound settings, not anywhere.
First - do you have the sound? Long press the key (the physical key with mag glass on) and make a voice search. Does it sound when it completes? Or if you cancel?
Second, do you know how to mute it or delete it?
Nobody gets the beep sounds?
Everybody gets the beep sounds?
Somebody press the button and tell me if it plays a tone!
There has to be somebody out there who has voicesearch and can find 5 secs to press the button and tell me if it sounds a tone when you press cancel.
Apparently not. Maybe its the world cup
It sounds like a soft cricket for me. Kinda like Dzz.
So it does appears on your install of the voice app?
Peculiar. It first appeared when I updated the keyboard app, not when I updated the voice app. I've rolled back to earlier versions of both, but it still is there. Could it be direct from google somehow? I wish I could turn it off (can only be done by muting the speaker.)
My media volume is set to 12/15, system volume is 6/7, ringer is 6/7, and I could baaarely hear it.
With my Epic on CM7 with any nightly and either the stock or Shadow kernel, when I am on a call, the other person constantly asks me to go to a quieter area when out in public. I have tried to change settings in DSP even tried to uninstall it. I am not sure what else to do.
So, is there a dialer code or terminal code that can be changed to adjust the microphone volume level while on a call?
I am running stock rooted Android 2.3.4. My dialpad works except while I am in call - it becomes glitchy. Any numbers I dial on the dialpad while in-call usually registers twice. For example, I work in the hospital and usually need to page someone but when I press keypad during a call to leave numeric #: 12345, it instead leaves 1122334455 or some times 111223445. Tried rebooting, long presses and short presses without any help.
This also happens for anything that requires dialpad during a call: voicemail pin: 1234 but it says invalid "you entered 11223344". It also happens with bank account, calling cards....
My keyboard/dialpad work without problems during regular use.
Tried to use Dialer One app but it pushes me to stock dialpad while in-call. The one app that has worked is TalkaTone VOIP - its uses its own dialpad while in call without problems but its a voip program.
Anyone know of any other dialer apps that uses its own dialpad while in call?
Others had the same problem but no solution:

Are you on speaker phone during those calls im not rooted or custom rom but my phone does that while on speakerphone
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Tried with and without speakerphone but it didnt work. But I have noticed switching speakerphone on and off sometimes helps with the first few digits but its not gauranteed.

I'm looking for a way to change the native dialer to replace the waterdrops with DTMF tones. Looked at some threads below but they didn't have a solution. Anyone know of a mod that can do this?

+1 if this can happen. I was playing with my phone just now and wondered if there was an option to do this. Sounds it's possible on a rooted phone by changing some sound files, but I wouldn't know what to touch.
I don't think this will work. I've looked at it and the stock dialer uses 1 sound effect for all buttons. it's located in the standard area media\ui. You can easily replace that 1 file with another but that's all you'll get is a replacement single sound.
Only real solution I've found is aftermarket dialer with it coded in. Question is, why would you care what the button presses sound like? The actual REAL DTMF coding occurs when you press the dial button.
