Easy Linux/Ubuntu? - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was curious if any of those Linux/Ubuntu installers ( Such as this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zpwebsites.linuxonandroid&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS56cHdlYnNpdGVzLmxpbnV4b25hbmRyb2lkIl0. ) or this method (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4d_diU7i7Z0&list=FLhEB1oIzOYX-VhALWdpq9iw&index=3&feature=plpp_video ) worked. Any answer would be appreciated.

I can confirm the first method.

XDA premium app

Anyone else lose all their "participated topics" after the last update? I even tried using the free version and reverting back to an older premium build. No dice. I even went as far as recovering a backup from. No dice. What's the deal? I can even participate in new threads or post in ones I already posted in and nothing shows up.

Help me please...
I tried to purchase XDA Premium app but it seems it didn't get through. Now I see on the market "Purchased" but when I try download it it shows Declined, you haven't purchased it. I can't download, I can't try purchase it again... I tried this even after clean re-flash of the ROM, so no data about this were on my device... How to break this circle and solve this problem? May someone help me please?

No one to help? Luckily it was solved by itself - I could download it finally. In this case the time was the best doctor... If someone tried to think and help, thanks anyway...

OMG that guide worked fantastically. Also, droidfiles.us had a guide that was almost identical so if anyone is having issues you can also use that one. Thank you so much for the info on where to get files and where to look for the guides. wish i could +1 you or something but I'm a noob lol

One note, the guide on droidfiles.us, the step regarding the bootloader has the bootloader name missing a zero.

apktool errors

So appearantly its just the Jellybean framework-res. I tried GR9 Modaco and gedeROM, and they both worked. I tried Jandycane and CM10 with SGT7 enhancements, but they both didn't work. How am I supposed to decompile so that I can edit XML's? The method I'm using now takes forever.

False. your dad didnt do this.
I tried to install it without rooting and I made it but you will have to enter the files and install the apk, when it was finished you had to click Open because the stock Kindle launcher wont show the app. The solucion was rooting it and install Cyanogen.

simple and stupid question

I just installed stock jellybean 4.3 from hashcode for two reasons 1. To compare it to my 2013 nexus 7 2. Because a person suggested it to me in my "best ROM post" and I want to know if I have adb after using kindle fire utility a few times or if I have to get android SDK and all of that stuff
