This is something im wanting to test for Verizon GNex users, If you flash my AndroidME GNex 1.7.0 ROM and then flash this file after it SHOULD convert it to a working version for Verizon, If anyone is willing to test id be grateful.
This wont change anything you cant reverse so just take a backup of your current setup and if it doesnt work just restore. This WILL NOT flash a radio, only the ROM.
So to be clear download both files bellow, Flash the GSM ROM then straight after flash the Verizon-update.zip, Then boot up.
Verizon-update.zip
MD5: 9a2abb35cd83ca2221996611899fd541
AndroidME_GNex_1.7.0.zip
MD5: 74be013e28fa456c786a73931951db9f
Please let me know asap if it works, If it doesnt ill take this down. Thanks
UPDATE:
Changed ROM to GNex version (Stock Google base) and has no assert (getprop) in updater so should flash fine.
Updated Verizon-update.zip with all the Toro props i could think of.
Sure, I don't mind being a guinea pig. Downloading now. Edit soon.
Edit: No-go. The ROM wouldn't install. Tried to flash in CWM Touch. It said there was a error with the zip file (Status 7) and aborted installation.

The patch wouldn't have worked to make it function on Verizon either.
For this all to work, you would need:
Toro proprietaries, Toro asserts in the installer script for the rom, as well as a modified Mms.apk with the correct uaprof. Then it should (mostly) work.
The framework would still be wrong for radio attributes though. This has yet to show any bearing on how that affects anything.

This has nothing to do with radio. So as long as the file has the right props with a correct build.prop etc it should work fine. I compiled cm10 for both devices and compared side by side and there shouldn't be any issues.

I hope someone can post the radios as flashable zip. Gotta be patient hehe
I guess if u clear the Google services framework within app and press check for update... perhaps it'll work =]… if it doesn't the first time.. try 10 more times. It will say last checked on 1969 ... disregard that

Looks like it is rolling out (or at least starting to).
For anyone who has received it, would you mind looking in the log files in /cache/recovery and try and find the name of the update file (ending in .zip) please and post it in this thread. Thanks.

Just reading through the comments on the article, seems a couple people are getting (Much) better signal strength. Whatever they did it seems to have worked! (Maybe they just poured butter all over the radio code?)

Potentially! Are they comparing them to the leaked 4.0.4 radios? Doubtful since they upgraded and were presumably on 4.0.2 lol.
Either way, someone needs to find the images and make a flashable zip. I need something to do at work, nah mean?
So if I am running Liquid (4.04) will all I have to do is flash the new radios once they are available?
Sorry for the noob question. Just got my nexus last week and new to the flashing scene.

Yes. Radios are compatible with pretty much anything. They are separate from the rom, and do not even "stick" with a nandroid.
OK I'm running the leaked 4.0.4... I'll have to revert to 4.0.2 yo receive this correct? And I installed Franco's kernel last night. Anywhere I can pick up stock kernel?

Hello, I just got my new Galaxy Nexus (with Wind Mobile in Canada) and I successfully unlocked and rooted my phone. I don't believe I am. When I fastboot, it says "Maguro" so I flashed a maguro type rom but when I do that, it gives me an error. So I flash it with a Toro type rom, and then it works. But after flashing it with a Toro rom, it gives me the error I mentioned in my opening post.

You have a maguro (GSM) device. Only Verizon has toro devices, and only Sprint has toroplus devices. Everyone else in the world has marguo.
The best thing for you to do is to flash the stock images (follow the "flash" link in my signature). Once you are done that, then flash whatever custom ROM you want (maguro version of course).

Sextape has a very good source. He gave us several ICS tar leaks on the Epic Touch ( this part edited for wrong information) but yeah I flashed several of the stock ICS tars he leaked on my ET4G....edit..if you are headed to Dallas you may want to wait and see how the radio you have works first

Happy new year!
First of all you should consider to use the Nexus S specific forum ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=880 ) not, this one which is for the Galaxy Nexus (i9250).
Anyway, there are the official images for the 4.1.2 version, released by google. ( https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=it-IT#sojua )
The procedure to flash it is quite straightforward: just use the simple "flash-all.bat" inside the zip file.
Take a look to the stock rom and than read the forum for your device (you will find a specific cdma sub-forum too) .
Your phone, the i9020A, is Google Nexus S, not a Samsung Galaxy Nexus (i9250).

google never released an official 4.2.X for the nexus s. its not longer supported by google, not for jelly bean at least.
In the changelog for 4.4 RC 1, we are told that we need to flash a new bootloader and radio. This has not been part of my normal process. Why do we need to do this? You don't need to update anything then. If your device didn't come with any new boot loaders or radios then there is obviously nothing to update.
