SlimICS 4.2 + Franco M4 = best ever. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I have flashed just about every JB rom and kernel yet nothing compares to running SlimICS 4.2 and Franco Milestone 4. It is absolutely the most stable, clean and the batter life is off the charts.
Anyone else not really that into JB and sticking with a solid ICS setup?

Omg I just flashed Super Dooper Pooper ROM and Fasturz kernel.. its so smooth!
Give me a break. These ROMs all come from the same source with about 1 feature differing from each other it seems nowadays.
But any who I'm running trinity kernel and rasbean jelly.

Been using SlimBean and the battery drain is too much for me. Also too many little issues with Play store etc.
I am sure I will get to he just like SlimICS soon. I just really like the small file size, stability and reliability. This combo works. I don't use Google Now and don't use voice features etc.
Just curious if anyone else uses this combo. Also love the smaller dpi. Just all around solid and like the dev read my mind. Love it!

Had the same problem. Most processors and radios have low power modes, they are somewhat complex to implement and I suspect Samsung hasn't gotten to it yet (or finished it).

As far as I know, this is normal for a lot of Samsung phones regardless if you are on gb or ics... It happened when I was stock on my phone (for the first two hours lol) and my woman's og epic... It seems to even itself out after awhile.

No unnamed Rom battery was twice as better as this ics but it will take some time to tweak the kernel and Rom we just have to wait.

on CM9, if you install setcpu, and change your governor to on demand or conservative, your battery life goes up big time..
can't speak for these FB leaks, as, I am not going to install them for awhile..

Best JB ROM for Verizon Nexus

Hey all, my girlfriend wants better battery life on her Nexus. What ROM and kernel do you guys recommend?
Tell her to try it for herself. Every phone is different, thus they react to ROM differently. Only way to find best ROM is to try all out.
I would personally start with something popular, like AOKP, cm, and code name
Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Trinity Kernel, overclocked to 1.4GHz
In before the lock.
good day.

Slowly?
I recommend just leaving her phone stock and not touching it. Otherwise you'll have to do everything phone related for her.
Maybe she should adjust her settings (sync time intervals), extended battery.
But.... CM10 + Franco or trinity.

Stock JB with leankernel if you want some options, otherwise just stock JB.

OP no one uses their phone the same as your girlfriend and therefore cannot tell you what will get the best battery life for her. All ROMs are the best but every user and every phone react differently to every ROM and kernel. You will need to try for yourself or herself.
Thanks

ROM with these two features?

Hey guys and gals
Okay so there are these two features that I have yet to see in any other ROM. I have only seen it in supernova.
And the flashaholic me is kicking in so I want to try another ROM. But I like these two features so it would be nice if my next ROM could have these two.
Okay so first one is a ram bar when you press the recents button. So when you press the recents button on the top there is a ram bar.

The second one is this nifty little feature on the status bar. Its showing how KB/s your WiFi is.
I find it pretty useful. So do you guys know any other Roms that support this feature?

i think the first rom i saw with that memory bar on recent apps was AOKP.
XenonHD.. And I thought Ultimate Xylon also.

Carbon has a recents ram bar, but it looks different (better to me). However it is inaccurate. If you touch on it, it brings you to the settings ram bar. See the Carbon thread for a screen shot (one of the last messages in the thread).

[ROM][4.3][Unofficial][Unsupported]PAC-Man Build 1 09/11/2013

Here is a build of PAC-Rom 4.3 that I put together. It's been running great so far. 1080p video isnt working (like with the latest CM builds) and I don't know about BT audio/calls. Other than that, performance and battery life have been great. Paranoid preferences is working correctly. Headphones in calls were working on my last build but haven't tried them yet on this build (but PA prefs was screwy on my last build).
I won't have much time over the next little while to maintain this or my other roms, so I'm just throwing this up in General in case others are interested.
Download: http://d-h.st/B8u
Gapps: use any 4.3, but slim gapps will let you invert colors if that's your thing
I love this ROM. I figured it would've had a few more thanks than this

Just want to add my thanks as well. I just started branching out from the Stock ROM and find PAC so dynamic. Sad to see such a fun ROM be unsupported, but I guess it's just temporary. (I hope so, lol.)

PAC-man is live!
Awesome build. Coming from my SII running PAC for over a year, I have to say this is one fast, efficient, feature rich no-bloat.
Its running like a champ, and if you enable Android debugging while charging, a little Pac-man keeps on chewing at the top left of the notification bar. Noticed it while Flipboard was daydreaming.
Now all I need is the magnet-activated sleep/wake for my cover-case.
kudos
