Help with clockworkmod... pls

so each time i made a selection instead of going to the screen, the phone actually turn black, and nothing else
for example, in the clockworkmod home if i select wipe data with the power button, instead of seeing the other screen which will show wiping data , my screen just goes black and nothing else happens
Why is that

You don't select with power, you select with the track button

Haha, I remember when I first rooted my phone I wanted to download a ROM and see what the big deal was. So I get into ROM Manager, select a rom, and start the process of flashing it. Halfway through flashing, I accidentally hit the power button. Lol, the screen went blank, but I was too afraid to touch it for fear of making it worse. Finally, when it didn't do anything for like 3 hours, I hit the power button again and it just resumed.
I felt SO stupid. Specially since it was around 3 in the morning, and I was tired.

[Q] forgot lock code pattern

please help, i forgot lock code pattern, phone not synced with google account and he is not rooted,instaled android 2.2 official, what i can make?

afaik, I've never tried it, I think if you get the code wrong 10 times it can/will wipe the phone.

it so happened that I new user of android devices and i look what setting contain OS, and found that lock code patern it's crazy, please help
sorry for my bad english

Just turn it of n then turn it back on in hboot and do a factory reset

Stock 2.3.6

My sgs2 came stock with 2.3.6 but all the roms i see are 2.3.5... Shoukd i dump a copy of my 2.3.6 so the devs can use it? Or does it matter...i see there is only one 2.3.6 rom and it was ported.

Also, do you have lines across your screen? It might be fixed in 2.3.6...

Go to settings then about phone and take a screenshot think its home +power simultaneously someone clarify lol been on jugs so long i dont remember

Yes press and hold home key and very quickly tap the power button. That should do it on stock ROM

Posting a screen shot is really easy and can be done with the phone through the XDA app. It takes less than 1 min. From taking pic to posting.

I've read on a few sites that the 2.3.6 is already rolling out for the skyrocket but haven't heard anything about it being pushed out for the T989.

[Q] Remove annoying HTC One X volume tone?

Hey peeps,
New to XDA, finding it an amazing community of modders...
Anyways, am I the only one who hates the tone that's made from pressing the volume key on the side? We have quad core phones yet the sound it makes is like "my first phone" toy.
Maybe it's just me who doesn't like them but either way, can i remove/disable/replace this sound?

I've been in one or two quiet places (notably at a company presentation) and ah, just hate the tone that goes off!

So any ideas? Maybe a location for the audio files?
Would deleting them effectively make it silent?

Not at all, gives me the pains as well.
Guess you can probably delete these sounds when you are rooted, which is unfortunately out of the question for me.

Doesn't bother me other than when I'm in work, and everybody looks at me thinking I'm playing a little xylophone!

So the solution was a lot simpler than I thought ..
1) root the phone
2) go to /system/media/audio/ui/
3) backup (just in case) then delete "Volume-1.aac" - "Volume-7.aac"
Simples.

The magical search button and your firmware notification

Hey everyone,
I've noticed about 500 new posts a day saying, "I'm rooted and go an update notification. It's probably JB, should I take it?"
I'm here to help you out.
1. It's not JB. When it does come out you'll see people by the names of Freeza, zanderman, MrTimz, TEAMERA, clark44, etc get very excited and post about how awesome it is that JB is out. We'll be more than happy to at that time. Googling tech blogs and such will also help you stay on top of developing news of this nature.
2. If you have a custom recovery go ahead and accept. The installation will fail and everything will be fine upon reboot. If you have a stock recovery you can update but will probably lose root. Root again using normal methods.
3. The only JB out is leaked build that you would have to install normally.
4. Feel free to flash these builds to try them out and stop asking if you should. It's safe but ultimately your decision, not ours.
5. Stop posting in the dev section. Those of you who can't yet, it's for good reason, not to be mean. The only things you should post in the dev section are Roms, kernels and modifications to Android that you created.
6. If you aren't sure of something and don't want to sound silly, PM an experienced member. I've never had a question posed to me on here that I wasn't happy to help answer within my abilities.
7. Enjoy the place but please stop cluttering it up with the same question over and over. The search button will reveal that you probably weren't the first to ask your question. If you are, then kudos, feel free to post it in the Q & A section to be handled.
