Real Brightness fix? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

hi all
i was going over some old threads and found "Real brightness fix".
now, the thread was not for T-mobile gs3, it was international gs3 thread.
i was wondering if there is a separate version for T-mobile?
or is it safe for me to use this international version file to my t-mobile gs3?
Also, if anyone has done this mod, did the brightness get brighter or dimmer?
thanks

What are the differences between AT&T Tilt 2 and Touch Pro2?

Hello
What are the differences between AT&T Tilt 2 and Touch Pro2 international version?
I know that AT&T Tilt 2 supports AT&T 3G, but is there anything else?
I see that there's some changes in the keyboard, look and color, and I found from the pictures that Touch Pro2 is nicer.
What do you say?
Really need your help
Your help is so appreciated
The main differences are:
1. Of course the ROM (ATT specific vs. international HTC generic ROM)
2. 3G hardware bands
3. The US versions don't have a front camera for video calling like the international versions
4. The ATT keyboard has a completely different layout from the international versions
5. The ATT version has a push-to-talk (PTT) button on the side
Thanks for helping.
What about the color?
What do you mean about the difference in the ROM?
Please help

He means that the Tilt2 has an At&t specific ROM. A lot of bloat, tf3d modified for at&t, etc...
The color is about the same except for the back plate. On the UK version it is grey and on the tilt2 its glossy blk

That's correct -- essentially the Tilt2 ROM has a lot of AT&T carrier specific items on it. I believe that the new international WWE ROMs with 6.5 are also using a newer version of TF3D than the AT&T ROM.
For the color, I have heard that out of the American versions of the TP2, the Tilt2 looks closest to the international version, but I would scrounge around on the web for pictures of each version if you really want to see the difference.
They have an unboxing and comparison on pocketnow.com
Thanks for replying guys.
OK In general, which one is better or more recommended despite 3G compatibility?
Does AT&T ROM use Windows Mobile 6.5?
And how can I get the latest AT&T ROMs available?
Thanks
Im still waiting to see if the international version has the radios and they just need to be enabled through a new radio rom to get us 3g.

I personally despise the At&t version. I would switch to verizon before buying that piece of junk. I'm really big on the keyboard and their mutilation of the keyboard is something i just can't get on board with. I have the Euro version now and i love it (despite the 3G coverage).

Don't count on it. The hardware is present just like the touch pro and the touch diamond

What i despise is in the message. I thought it was pretty clear.
Actually it wasn't in the message. But assume you're referring to at&t's decision to embed a keypad rather than having the number runs across the top row. Personally I much prefer this - I find typing emails much faster. Do wish, however, that they'd have switched the CAPs and Fn keys.
Ehhh I don't see how it wasn't in the message. The difference between the keyboards is already known and i said i don't like how they mutilated the keyboard. I guess i could've dumbed it down for people to follow but it seemed pretty simple to me.

Thats the point, I believe this might be doable and I want the international version, not AT&Ts. Still no word that I can find yet that it can be done though.
I don't think its doable because the HW isn't there. I would say you can't get a 3G signal without a 3G antenna but that is just me.
Sorry for misunderstanding
OK, how can I get the latest AT&T ROMs available?
I'm gonna guess that At&t will provide the ROM updates but I dunno. HTC may provide them.. Actually i'm going with HTC.
Does AT&T ROM have some issues or defects not exist in HTC TP2 ROM?
Hmmm I would think it wouldn't. I would think that it would just be setup for At&t with a ton of bloat and crap. I dunno for sure since i don't have the at&t tp2

Has ATT given you unlock? 3g/4g switch/battery life

1. Has anyone gotten an unlock code within 90 days of their US ATT galaxy s3 upgrade? It might be my luck with a particularly CSR but they wouldn't budge on 90 days no matter how much i sweet talked them (I have been on ATT since before 2010)
2. I am guessing that 3g/4g shouldn't give you much more difference between battery life...but is there a noticeable difference, and if there is, are there any good switches out there
3. what is the turn on/off data tab for? I mean why do people use it? Why not just NOT use internet etc set your automatic update preferences correctly?
Bump
this has been answered and discussed and is mostly opinion based so im closing this thread

[Q] Utilizing AT&T Galaxy Note II on T-Mobile (New to Android)

Hey folks,
I've been wanting to get a galaxy note II for Christmas! Fortunately for me, I had a relative use their upgrade to get the Note II and trade me for my iPhone 5 (kind bored of iOS) but it is a AT&T version.... I need the T-Mobile version lol
I'm new to the Android Community and had some questions for you folks.
What steps do I need to take to setup my new phone?
1. Charge phone to 100% before use
2. Unlock the phone to T-mobile using the method posted here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2014982)
3. Use new phone?
4. Possible root/new rom to remove bloatware? (Can anyone recommend a stable rom that doesn't lose any features of the original stock rom without bloatware? It would be a plus to be able to increase battery life/make the phone faster)
5. ??? missing any steps?
I also was wondering if anyone who used the AT&T version on T-mobile receive HSPA speeds (without the 1900mhz refarm or a radio flash-does this even exist yet?) or is pure edge until they redo the towers (been on edge with the iphone 5 and its getting annoying lol)?
Additionally, does anyone have the correct APN to use with the AT&T note 2 for the t-mobile network (should be the same as the iphone apn correct)?
I did search for some threads regarding this but I was hoping for a more comprehensive answer
Thanks in advance folks!
bump anyone?
Go ahead and use the unlocking method you linked. CleanROM is a pretty good debloat rom with options to install a lot of the removed apps.
I just solved some huge battery drain issues I was having on all 8 devices in my house. My wifi network was putting out a lot of useless traffic causing all of my devices to wake up frequently. My note 2 had 100% cpu wake time in 10 hours with 1 minute of screen time.
So I changed several settings on my router and pcs on the network.
set up static ip
disable upnp
disabled file sharing + media sharing on all computers + dlna devices.
Suddenly the wlan_rx_wake wake locks I saw in better battery stats went from 90% uptime to less than 10%.
However, my nexus 7 and our gs3 running touchwiz were still not deep sleeping properly. The nexus 7 was getting a gtalk_async_conn wake lock which didn't go away till I formatted the internal storage, and the gs3 was getting location service wake locks because the stock touchwiz clock/weather widget was checking location way too often.

I am having similar questions. Mostly, can I get 3G/4G from t-mobile network on my AT&T Note 2 (SGH-I317), or am I stuck on EDGE only? I get 3G once in a while, but not reliably or consistently. mostly on EDGE, so how am I getting HSDPA/HSPAP/UMTS 20% of the time? Were you able to get any answer to your questions?
As for unlocking, if you call AT&T they will give you the unlock code if you terminate early and pay the penalty. another method with different degree of success is to insist you are traveling abroad and you need to unlock the phone.
I really wish I could get even 3G reliably and consistently on my unlocked AT&T Note 2.
Also, would I lose my unlock (unlocked w code from AT&T) if I root my phone and put bloatware-less ROM on it?

[Q] TMO S3, switching to ATT. Any tweaks, rom advice?

Hey all, atm I use the stock rom, rooted for tmobile. (Stock rom isnt that bad for JB tbh.. to my surprise) However I just switched to ATT, waiting on my nano to micro adapter to come in so I can switch back to use it. Now as far as I read, I should have the 3g and 4g bands just fine, I just wont have LTE on ATT, correct? Next up, aside from using titanium backup to force uninstall TMOs software, was wondering, should I change out my rom too or is stock still cool to use for ATT?
That or what is everyone else doing if they took their S3 to ATT or tweaks that could help for network speed etc. That or apps that are good for ATT on it. Thanks.
Anyone? Or is there no tweaks or more ideal rom builds. Atm I mange to get 3-4 Mbps download speeds. Not sure how fast Iphone 5 gets.. Didnt test and dont feel like taking the sim out again tonight lol.
As suggested by the ATT S3 section of the forums, Ill put my post here too with more details on what I could be looking for.
Hello, Just changed from Tmobile to ATT. I already unlocked it, and am running it on 4G. Sad part is, download is only like 1-3 Mbps it seems. While my Iphone 5 can get close to 7 Mbps (Now this is just 4G band, NOT LTE)
So I am wondering if there are some tweaks I need to adjust in the build.prop or anything else. Atm I just use the stock rom thats rooted. (Since it seems nice enough for JB and honestly, I havent figured out which custom rom beats the stock rom 100% without losing any features.
Also noticed I cant install the ATT Visual voicemail as it claims device isnt compatible. (Which that I am sure I can use a build.prop edit for the model. Question is, which model and items do I need to adjust and to what value?)
Anyways, if anyone has some good advice about using the tmobile S3 on ATT and getting it tweaked to be the best it can be, or a rom that is perfect for switching between ATT and Tmobile (should I use my prepay tmo sim in it again) and provide high data speed. Would be great.
Oh also.. just so I know. Can I use the ROMs posted in this ATT section of XDA for the t999 tmo s3 or do I need to still only use roms from the tmo s3 section of xda? Thanks. =)

Not sure about the other stuff, but with regard to this, your phone is still a t999 no matter what carrier you are with. Hardware doesnt change, so I would recommend you stick around in the tmo section.
Some att ROMs may work, but not sure which, so if you DO want to use an att rom, I would suggest asking the dev if it will work for the t999.
Sorry I couldnt answer about the rest, im too noobish for all that
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Yea thats the trick, Seems its hard to even find that advice lol. I mean long as I dont use the international s3 roms. Just between Tmobiles and ATT. I dont know. I dont even know if its considered the same model and could use the same rom. Perk of using an ATT rom, may increase my network speed some along with being able to use their apps. Atm I cant use the ATT Visual voicemail since it says my phone isnt compatible. Which I know I could prob bypass that with the build.prop provided I knew which model to make my phone.

Probably you are better off posting this in TMo section too... cos there would be higher chances for finding someone who already tried putting the AT&T version of ROM on his TMo phone.
Posted there too, not much luck on responses yet. So figured maybe this side knows more. I dont even know if one can use the ATT Xda rom side for the tmo s3 for example. Was there any hardware differences (aside from the radio since I know tmos doesnt have LTE) Also what is the model for ATT s3 for the build.prop?
Anyone least know if the roms in ATT section would even work on the Tmobile model? Kinda thinking I should switch out and have all the setups and apps for ATT.
