Screenguard for Gnex? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Currently using the free screenguard that I got with my phone. Its "Professional ScreenGuard", should I switch to Scratchguard? I'm just worried because on the name its written "For iPhone and iPod" and it doesn't fully fit my screen. Thanks

I actually use a cheap (price-wise) screen protector I got from eBay. You get 6 for $1.75. I believe the brand was 'bullet proof guards' or some variation for that. I can link you if you'd like.
my boyfriend used a spare iPod touch screen protector on his sensation. Used it for about 6 months until it ripped. (His keys' fault.)

I got the "Skinomi TechSkin - Samsung Galaxy Nexus Screen Protector Ultra Clear Shield + Lifetime Warranty" and it's really nice, it only comes with 1 so make sure you stick it perfectly

[Q] Crystal Clear Screen Protector?

Has anyone found a screen protector that is crystal clear? When I say crystal clear, I mean almost unnoticeable. I've tried the ones off eBay, they're never amazingly clear.
My brother has the http://www.powersupportusa.com/ on his iPhone and it is absolutely amazing. It's almost impossible to tell the difference between his to an unprotected iPhone.
Suggestions?
Edit: Looks like I found it. For anyone who's wondering: SGP Ultra Crystal (cheaper on eBay than SGP site)
+1 for SGP !
Try real look it sold on amazon. I have it installed on my Atrix

Martin Fields. But you have to pay more than SGP.
I took a look at Martin Fields. It came out to be $33 shipped for one protector. The price is deadly.
I am using the Steinheil Ultra Crystal for the Atrix and the Zoom and it is as clear as not having a screen protector.

3 bucks from seller belldandy-chan on ebay, shipped from ca. CRYSTAL CLEAR, i am amazed at how unnoticeable it is.

Reporting back with the SGP Crystal.
Ordered mine off eBay on Saturday @ 1pm, shipped @ 3pm, arrived Monday @ 12pm gift-wrapped and with a personal thank you note!
The protector is literally non-existent although it felt pretty thick before I applied it. It made this phone so much better (switching from anti-glare). I never really noticed how nice the screen was because the anti-glare was already on the phone when I bought it refurb from AT&T.
Also, it feels really nice on the fingers, very smooth.
I have to agree, I've had this screen protector on ever since I bought my phone and the quality of it is just amazing.
I'm glad you went with the Steinheil. I am sure you will like it as much as I have. Now I am debating if I should get their Incredible sheild skin for the phone....the carbon fiber looks sick on the Xoom!

How are these chumpies with fingerprint markings?
Well, that is a down side to the product. On one hand you can see VERY clearly...on the other, its like giving a bucket of paint to your kids and expect the wall to be clean by the time you get home...
Im good with my Zagg.Protection is what matters to me and with this one I got plenty of it,everything looks crystal clear

+1 again on SGP.
though sometimes I debate whether I should have gotten the oleophobic
for years (back to the ipod 20Gb) i have never had issues with any of my protectors purchsed off koren vendors on ebay. they are always clear and i get like 3 for 99cents. if you pay more then a few bux for one the companies marketing scheme is working. as long as you apply it correctly (with some water under it and then squeegee it out, its amazingly clear.
check out hk_plaza on ebay
here is a video i made which the protector is on

I agree with the eBay protectors being good for the price but they are definitely not the same. I can see a clear (NPI) difference between the one on my HTC Aria, eBay and the one currently on my Atrix, SGP Crystal. The eBay distorts some of the light and causes some rainbow-ish color when viewing bright white.
trust me, the $3 protector from belldandy-chan on ebay is hands down the BEST i've had on any phone. i used to pay $10-20 for the expensive protectors and realized how foolish it was when I bought this phone. the image is PERFECT, crystal clear, zero distortion or discoloration, and for $3, I can buy 4 for the same price as an SGP.

[Q] Skinomi or Zagg screen protector?

As stated in the object, based on your experience which one would you suggest me for this beautiful phone?
Thank you..
Never used Skinomi but zagg is pretty good, used it on my atrix
Never liked zagg, it turns yellow and grungy. I have had them replace it a few times but it sucks that I need to pay shipping on a warranty.
Ive used neither. I have ordered a skinomi in anticipation of getti g my nexus hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
Sent from my samsung gt i9250 using powers of the unicorn.
Oh forgot to mention, i usually order a bunch of el cheapos from hong kong. Premium protectors usually do last longer, but if you find some decent cheap ones it can be more economical. I usually get 5 for $4 shipped from hk, and the skinomi i just ordered was $6 for one. Usually 2 or 3 premium ones are $10-$15. Doing the math and usually changing protectors about every 6 weeks id rather buy 10 from hk and that will last the life of the phone.

I've always been a big fan of ZAGG protectors. I have them on most of my devices. They can be a REAL pain to apply, but once you get the hang of it, it's not so bad. I've never had a problem with them. I did screw up an installation once.. was a bit too aggressive with the squeegee, left a bunch of marks, but they were nice enough to ship me a free replacement
This time, I'm trying Skinomi. Mainly because ZAGG now charges a ridiculous shipping fee for Canada ($17 on a 12$ protector!!). Whereas Skinomi ships for free to Canada.
Anyways whichever you decide, here are some lovely coupon codes
skinomi: get25 (25% off)
zagg: youmobile (cant remember but it was 3$ off my order)
I ordered a Zagg. Also have one on my Vibrant and I'm used to it. Very durable and wipes clean since it does collect smudges easily. Replacement warranty is good, too.
If you're in the states, verizon sells a 3pack of pretty decent screen protectors. I picked mine up at a local store.

Waiting for the martin fields screen and camera protector. Should be available shortly after the galaxy nexus gets released in Asia (whenever that may be).

I always use Zagg on all my electronics. JSYK www.zagg.com is running 50% off today and tomorrow site wide and free shipping for orders over $29.99. I got my GN and full body MacBook Air shiel for $34.99 shipped.
I was using Zagg Invisibleshield in my last 2 devides (Nokia E61 and currently the Nexus).
However, I bought the LG Nexus 4 yesterday, and I wanted to buy the Hi-Def Insisible Shield (not available yet to Nexus 4).
Because of that, I will try a different protection and buy the Skinomi for a change (front and back cover).

Tested zagg before. Lasted less than a month. Hate the feel, hate the orange peel, hate the yellowish color. Bought skinomi and everything was better

I will never buy anything other than Skinomi protectors anymore. They are really easy to set properly and the protection is great. I've used them on 3 Android phones, all from different manufacturers and they work amazingly.
Never tried Zagg since I started using Skinomi first.

I have an extra skinomi screen protector, with the entire package. I can send it to you for free if you just pay for the shipping.
I don't really like the rubber feel that comes with skinomi/zagg protectors, although it offers probably the maximum amount of protection you can get with screen protectors
I can definitely vouch for skinomi. i've had it for my last two phones, and i don't think id get any other brand. one think that i didn't even realize i appreciated about their protectors after buying an alternate brand is that they make the screen look really nice. they don't take away or interfere with the color at all. very appreciated. got another brand of screen protector when i first got my gn, and its like it put a matte finish on my screen.
i do swear that next time, if i can find someone to put my screen protector on, i will pay them to do it. i am terrible at it apparently. i have tried ALL the tricks. steam.... steam... you name it.
there was a tiny tiny speck of dust that made a little bubble on the screen, and my skinomi was on a bit crooked and it kept creating bubbles in the corners where my case overlapped. it drove me insane, so i just took it off.
i go commando now. screen looks awesome BTW.

Galaxy nexus Otterbox

Can someone that has the otterbox for the Galaxy Nexus post some pictures of it? I love otterbox for the Iphone but do not know if it will look the same for the galaxy nexus. Thank you.
would also love to see it.

It would be nice to know if they show the Google logo. Not to be picky, but I'm proud to buy a Google phone and would like to have the Logo visible like you would see on the iPhone.
Looking at the Nexus S, I have the impression the Galaxy Nexus case will also be a fail.
My comment is listed on the site, where I hope they will respond.
There's one listed on eBay right now with free shipping. Only one pic though .

Here are a few of mine with an Otterbox Commuter. The fit is perfect. The volume and power buttons are easy to press and line up well. It adds a bit of bulk but i dont mind that.
I got the Zagg screen protector since the otterbox screen protector only covered the screen portion. The zagg is probably temporary since i leave on a holiday soon and it was available in stores. Its not too bad though with less orange peel than previous ones in my opinion but it does still feel rubbery.

I walked into a Bell store in Mississauga, Ontario last friday and picked one up. I was surprised to see that they had it in stock since the Otterbox website itself said that it was coming soon. The bell website says that they are available to order online I think. It feels great and i would highly recommend one.
can you remove the screen protector that's preinstalled with otterbox?
Yup, the screen protector is just a separate dry application protector. It doesn't cover the entire front face since its cut out to only cover the screen portion and not the entire front face like the zagg. I had it on there for a couple of days. It was actually pretty good but when sliding down the notification bar you would always feel the screen protector edge which was annoying. It came off very easily and left no residue when i replaced it with the zagg.
The actual case doesn't have a front protector, i believe the defender cases have those, not the commuter.
Regarding the zagg, it feels less rubbery now after using it for a while and i actually like it. I'm sure that the many options available online might be better and cheaper but i needed one right away and i think they have improved on them a bit.

Where are you located? The Verizon stores in Utah are being assholes about accessories, lying to me when I ask for them.
"we don't have any cases or accessories for that device yet"
Liars.
I'm in Wisconsin. I walked in and said I was looking for nexus accessories. The guy was lime we don't have the phones for sale yet. I said I know, I just want accessories cuz I have one. Once I showed them they were not so impressed cuz I use it with att. The guy said we have them in back, let me see if they ring up. They did so they gave me all kinds of stuff to pick from. Got a dash mount for driving, screen protectors, a tpu case, an otter box defended, and a bad ass incipio double protection.

I want to buy case and screen protector

Hello All,
First of all i want to say im new to XDA developers site and new in Android phones.
Recently (like 2 weeks ago) i bought my Galaxy Nexus I9250 and i want to protect my phone so i need case and screen protectors( Ebay or Amazon need cheap and good ^^) and battery cuz when my batery is fully charged(100%) im using Wi-Fi and surfing the internet using not so much applications on and the battery finish in 4 hours so if u guys can recommend me on a good battery from ebay amazon i dont mind(the version of the phone is 4.1.1).
Thx for help.
Otterbox
I bought this with my phone when it released back in 2011. I really like it. its on og the best case company: http://www.otterbox.com/Samsung-Gal...or=20&start=2&cgid=samsung-galaxy-nexus-cases
I prefer the Commuter case too. And it will fit the OEM extended battery w/o the door.
I have the gsm model. As for a screen protector I like the Skinomi drytech protector, I had a ArmorSuit one but it has that rainbow effect, the Skinomi one is clear, but, the one I received was cut to exact fit and you have to be careful when applying it because it will stretch slightly over the edge of the screen. I have a SGP Hybrid case and it is great, I also have an Otterbox Defender case for work, I love it, a little rainbow effect on the screen but it's bearable.

Favorite case and battery friendly rom
I found this nice case from Nilkin: NILLKIN-PU-Leather-PC-Flip-Wallet-Cover-Case-LG-E960-Nexus-4-LCD-Film
The ROCK flip case is also my favorite but it sold out everywhere I look.
Btw. I am using the latest Paranoid(15 febr) rom and the battery usage very friendly.:
I think Xtreme Guard screen protectors are the best and easiest to install. They usually have coupon codes. I think I bought 3 for less than $5.
