if there was, then switching between tabs in chrome wouldn't work would it.
Most phones stock, and almost all roms, you hold home and it will pop up recently used apps, at least since froyo. In ICS it works even better.. but besides that, no, there's no way.

They DID make a multitasking animation for the GNex with WebOS, WP7, & Sense 4.
So this animation is very possible. I recommend you go to AOKP or CM and email/PM your idea.
If they like it & are willing to do it, Donate to them. That'll truly show your thanks and possibly make them happily do another one of your ideas down the road.

I'd like to be able to pull down the notification bar when I am using the browser.
I'ts nice 99% of the time that we get 100% full screen when using the browser. But my not. bar has the time, icons for if my gps came on, if I have a message, etc.
It would be cool if some sliver of the not. bar were there and we could pull it down to view while in the browser. I only use the stock browser and this might be an option in other browsers, but I think it would be nice as an option any way.

Back on track, I would like a little lightsaber to cut wedges of cheese to put on crackers. I imagine it being a little melted even.
In reality, to me the phone is pretty much just what I want. Especially now that there's so many developers working on different roms. Maybe more AOSP roms since the only two are CM and Miui.
For me.... moar gbs.... and maybe it could build me an island and then turn into a jet and fly me there

I too would like to see more AOSP roms. CM is one thing, but it is more stock AOSP which is cool but not what I want. MIUI on the other hand is something COMPLETELY different than anything else out there and that's what I would be interested in. Not something like MIUI, but something built off AOSP source that was completely different and original.
MIUI is amazing.
Lol that would be kinda dangerous and I want to try making a asop rom next but I'm still learning I'm going to release my first rom tonight just to see what people ask to change so I can attempt to fulfill there request and learn at the same time

Can somebody please make an APK allowing installing the GB keyboard alongside the ICS one?
With all due respect- the ICS stock keyboard sucks. The GB stock keyboard was awesome!
Please help!!!
Just download it from the market.
EXT LTE Galaxy Nexus - 4.0.4
Asus Transformer - ICS
Actually, I extracted the LatinIME.APK from a CyanogenMod 7 file.
Then used Root Explorer to install it.
My fear is, and I have yet to check, that installing a new nightly (which I do whenever a new one become available) will reinstall the ICS keyboard over it.
Although I could go through the process of manually reinstalling the Gingerbread keyboard, I would much rather have a solution which doesn't require that.
https://market.android.com/search?q=gingerbread+keyboard&c=apps
This is the oddest problem I have ever heard.... what do you like more about the gingerbread keyboard?

First and foremost- swiping the space bar in order to switch between languages.
Excellent keyboard but that of gingerbread ics remains better in my opinion!
Updates:
Switched from the KANG version to the official nightly.
My workaround seemed to work on the KANG version, but doesn't on the official nightlies.
I agree that the ICS keyboard looks better.
I would very much appreciate it if anyone could create an APK for the ICS keyboard which allows swiping the space bar in order to switch languages.
I don't really know why this feature was dropped. Maybe I just don't know how to set it up. If you do- please educate me.
Thanks!
I have no idea why ics keyboard doesn't have the swipe keyboard support for changing language input. this is a step backwards for android.
You can toggle multiple language support in the keyboard settings,Then just long press the space bar

Well from your original post you did say swipe but you didn't make it clear that you were aware of the long press feature,I was just trying to be helpful & being rude or a smart ass isn't helpful nor does it earn you brownie points!!!
Besides,Swiping & long pressing aren't exactly day & night. It takes maybe a millisecond more to long press than to swipe.

I was neither rude nor a smart ass.
Just to be clear- long pressing the space bar isn't enough. You need to select the language too (yet another redundant press).
I don't know about day and night, but for me the difference is noticeable.
I'm still looking for a better solution than my current one. Would very much appreciate help, wherever and whoever it comes from.

In some other post you said that SR Zeus 1.3 is your fave ROM, most stable, etc. I totally agree, but your ICS theme for it makes it all the more special. Now with this mod, even sweeter! I'm currently rocking CM7 (i need a fully working camera, so no CM9) b/c I'm a flashing addict (ROM flashing, that is). Are there any support groups for those of us who can't go more than a few days w/o flashing? (Sorry for the off-topic).

editing of the .smali code in the systemui.apk
requires decompiling, editing the code, then recompiling.
that said, I've never tried to even do this MOD, if I did I'd make it, in the mean time, I can just make that icon transparent..
it will be a blank space if say the sync icon or something else is next to it

For those of you who are excited an about 4.2 simply because of the Redone Camera UI, or just want to have have some leaked 4.2 on your phone a couple of days before the actual thing is released.
Here is the download for the NEW camera.
YOU MUST BE ROOTED!!! NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK IT SOMEHOW!!!
Android v4.2 AOSP Camera:
http://db.tt/Vla2qFhu
You will be able to keep the 4.1.2 camera so don't worry about it if you want it still for some reason.
For those of you who don't know(living under a rock eh), here are some new exciting feature and changes:
1. Full screen camera and video, no more gray boarders. Completely redone UI.
2. No nobs and settings in view, just hold the screen and they all be available in a circle dragging view.
3. Pinch to ZOOM in and out.
4. New Photo editor UI(duh)
a. An original/new drag bar(you'll see
what I mean
b. New slide out edit history
c. New Ratio cropping(I think that's new)
d. Etc.
5. PHOTO SPHERE!!!
6. New Gallery UI(similar to 4.1.2)
7. Few unlisted but you'll find em
I take no credit for making this file. Originally found on AndroidPolice. This file is for the people who would like to use it and still have no knowledge of this download. So dont get all mad. This will be useful for a few days, yes I know. Not sure if it will work on Touchwiz, Sense, Moto, or anything else. Confirmed working on 4.1.2 AOSP.

The Nexus devices show a transparent floating list on the right side of the screen where you can swipe away open apps, CM goes one step further and gives you a button to close all open apps. The HTC One takes you to another screen with really small pictures of apps you swipe away one by one to close. Ideally I am looking for the CM version of that, or would even settle for the stock Google version.
