Hello everyone.
Will recovery from a nandroid backup cause any problems? Ei. Im coming from a JB rom and want to restore to an ICS rom. Is it ok to restore straight away or do I have to flash the boot.img from the ICs rom. Currently away fron a PC that's why im checking.

Hello All,
im running a 2.3.6 rom , but i would like to run an ics rom. my question is, do i have to go back to stock and update or can i just flash the ics rom? any help would be great, thanks.
you can flash an ICS ROM. Just make sure you first flash a compatible modem, and do a complete wipe using darkside wipe and darkside cache wipe. Dont restore data either.

Hi, not sure if this has already been asked but I have a question...
I've got a stock rooted galaxy nexus yakju with 4.1.1 on it and wanted to know if I make a nandroid backup of that, would I be able to flash cm10 on just to play about on it and then go back to that backup I made of everything stock when I've finished playing about?
Or would I not be able to flash a stock nandroid backup?
Thanks

Yeah you can make a nandroid backup, wipe and flash a new ROM, then go back to your nandroid and the phone will be exactly as it was when you made that backup.
Thanks dude, this is going to awesome

I am currently on tbalden's latest CM9 build and want to go back to ARHD 9.1.0, I have a nandroid backup of 9.1.0 and should I just restore from that backup or reinstall the rom. Does restoring from a Android backup also change the kernel?

No not the boot.img
no the backup will restore all data except the boot.img which you need to get off your sdcard/clockworkmod/backups/XXXXXXXXX/folder
restore your rom then flash the boot.img
i have a question too.
i have a nandroid backup of my stock rom.
how to restore this?
I wanna experience what JB has to offer, my question is: normally when I have to do a full wipe to go to a new base on a rom e.g going from a 1.29 base to a 2.17, I did a nandroid backup upgraded then restored just the data from the back up it worked fine will that work if I am doing it with an AOSP rom incase I like it? Thanks

Use tb to backup your apps then restore after upgrade
I used to do it your way. However much less app problems with titanium backup.

I made a nand backup before I flashed custom rom. Now the backup is in .dup format.
Recovery which come with rom doesn't show any backup at all, but clockworkmod v5.8 skips them.
How can I restore it now?
