i went back to Stock ROM and doing root. Now i have made an Backup from this ROM and now i want to modified it.
the only what i need is the system.img from the 2.17 Vodafone UK ROM or Backup.

Those are the source code for the kernel, so it cannot be flashed. You need the RUU (rom update utility) for your phone. Check them at the development - > shipped ROMs thread.
If you say a country we can guess what is that you need, but the CID of your phone will be better (download CID getter from market)
Hi all, i made 2 ROMs based on official 3.14.401.31.
First is authentic, second is de-odexed (1.4.1) and zipaligned (SDK r21).
I made an update package for both ROMs, this update contains:
» Busybox v1.20.2.
» init.d scripts support.
» removal bloatware and Google/HTC crap.
» SuperSU + su binary v0.99.
» unsecured boot.img.
Don't forget to flash new boot.img when you flash the update.

Download Update
Download ROM De-odexed and zipaligned
Download Update
Download Authentic boot.img
Download Authentic firmware (Hboot 1.39)
Download Authentic recovery.img
Feel free to use it as base for your ROM, mod or whatever.

No, you can't. You have to update your devices hboot version.

No you can't, you can use this tool to update your hboot to 1.36 (came with this base) After that you can flash this rom.
my device is a t-mobile,so i thing it wont go....
so far the best

If you have hboot 1.31 or higher, unlocked bootloader and custom recovery, yes you can!

i got HTC desire 816w from china but i am originally from Egypt
anyway this was my first time to root my device and install custom rom but unfortunately i deleted my backup stock rom by mistake
and now wanna back to stock but dont know how so pls
if anybody can explain how to S OFF and install stock rom ( i searched much for S OFF for this device but didn't find and also can't get the stock rom from HTCUI.com donno why cant download from baidu ) and finally big thanks to kinghunki all info i know about this device by his Threads

Try this European version single sim version RUU from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52995489. I did the similar mistake and unable to find the RUU for the dual sim english version. If you or anyone happen to find one, please please share that rom or RUU.

Heloo to everyone...i have problem and i need your help..so i have htc one x cid: vodap110 swiss-vodafone ch-de. (international htx one x).. so my firmware was 4.19.166.3 original stock rom.
I rooted my phone and installed some android 5.0, 5.1 just testing for fun.Now i want get back to the stock rom but i cant found it enywhere.i search all web but there is no firmware.

I know.i made mistake..i already searched for nandroid cant find that firmware only 3.xx.166.x, so if i install that can i update it to version 4.19.166.3 swiss?

CQC1 is the latest odin stock - odin file I can find. This will not relock your bootloader but you have to disable ota after installation.

its on sammobile...its the 2nd option down shows there as being a newer release however
STOCK FIRMWARE WILL LOCK THE BOOTLOADER. there is no root method here and im not sure if its downgradable
