i'm pretty sure you cant just s-off with fastboot. only way i know to s-off on desire is through alpharev.

wrong flashing rom
i tried to do all thing just befor the flash complete the mobile make 7 vibrate and turnoff and never go up
also with gold card when the flashing ruu on 63% it do this
if someone tell me this is hardware issue i will stop but no one help

Actually were you using a custom hboot from alpharev or anything like that?

I have wildfire S which was bought from singapore. I am trying to unlock my bootloader through the HTCDEV website. I am in the step 1 and little confused as to which RUU to select. Please help.

I have a Singapore or Hong Kong market A510e and had to update it to the European ROM before I could update the bootloader, but that was back in January. Hopefully the HTC Asia RUU will work for you.

No need to unlock bootloader. Just go ahead and root it.

Hey! I gave it a try. I successfully ran the HTC Supertool v3 and i got a message ROOTED blinking in different colors After restarting the mobile i just checked the titanium backup tool , but i got an error cannot find root and also i could not find the superuser app installed.
What could have gone wrong ?

may be you can try another way ,first recovery and then root，because you are not unlocked the bootloader you can not use the tools with the ADB command.
I also want to know the hboot and cid of your phone,may be your phone the cid is 11111111,this phone is hard to recovery and root.there is a recovery in attachment，you can have a try.if it is not work I have anyother way. recovery version is 5.028

Tried the recovery suggested by you. It failed and below is the screenshot of the same:
Then went on to use the SD Tool App and found the details. Not sure what my CID is.
A recovery already exists for my phone:

how you already had the recovery？in attachment there is a root.zip you download，and put on the root of the sdcard，and phone boot to recovery，find install zip from sdcard，and then choose zip from sdcard，and find the root zip，and power button.

Not sure bro! It was S-Off and with recovery surprisingly by default! By the way bought it from an authorized HTC dealer with warranty!! Even i am puzzled !!! Anyways i am rooted now and also managed to install a custom ROM....everything looks fine!! Thats all matters

Ok, A lot of people flashed the OTA...
But now you got the ugly watermark...
Yes it can be removed...
It does require root.
Copy the services.jar to your computer and run ADB.
Code:
adb remount
adb push services.jar system/framework/
adb reboot
Your watermark is now gone.

Thank u for ur help, but in that thread I did not find the solution I was looking for, or I couldn t understand it. Once again, my HOX is stock, on latest european rom 2.17.401.2 and I would like to upgrade it to this JB 3.09.401.100 rom. Do I need to unlock bootloader and root the phone to do it, or I can do the upgrade without doing that, some other way, so I don t lose the warranty.

You could try putting the zip file into the internal memory and rename it to update.zip and boot to stock recovery and flash it from there.. Normally the ota file would get saved into /cache/ folder and flashed by the system from there....
I didn't try it as I'm receiving this update officially as part of the user trial program

Hi! I am one of the lucky ones that got an S-OFF HOX. How do I install this ROM? All I ever did to my phone is flash a stock ROM using RUU from my PC(the 2.17.401.2). Do I need to root my phone? Also, how do I remove the watermark if my phone is not rooted? I am a complete noob!

Put OTA in internal storage.
Got to HBOOT, start recovery.
PRess volume up+power
Select flash zip from internet storage.
Select the ota.zip and flash.
Thats it.
To remove watermark, check s-off root on modaco.com
And follow the steps in post #1.

i was trying to root my htc desire hd with aahk, and it asks for downgrade as my htc dhd is on 2.3.5. It tries to download

But says 404 not found. So I tried to find this file everywhere on the other sites bust couldn't
If anyone of you still have this file. please upload somewhere. I really need it

I dont think so, but I think you need latest hboot so that htcdev can unlock it. But i am not so sure myself. But no need to downgrade. The tools should unlock your bootloader, flash recovery and install superuser binary to gain root.

Yes, I used easy ace root tool. And it was really simple to root the phone.
Friend can you help me ? When i install it PD9810000_Ace_Sense30_S_hboot_2.00.0029

You don't need a goldcard. You HBOOT/FASTBOOT is borked. You won't be able to flash anything at all..if you still want to insist use this:

Maybe you are not reading....YOUR HBOOT IS MESSED. No sdcard will solve that. If you read you would have found the answer.

i bought htc desire, there was "alpharev hboot-6.93" and S-OFF ,but i think it's unroot
i want to root it back, and i tried many times with unrevoked and it's not working.
i tried to downgrade or flash to stock hboot from alpharev and it didn't take any changes

Just flash supersu through your custom recovery (which I'm assuming you have since you s-off'd. If you don't have one, let me know and I'll tell you how to get one.
