Hello,
I've been searching the forums for two days now but can't find the answer. Could sombody please help me?
My problem is:
I have an s-off and rooted Desire. I rooted it after I had put on gingerbread. That was all working great. Until I decided to return to the standard HTC ROM again. I've now tried different RUU's even the last Gingerbread.
I think I've done something wrong because every time i get stuck when installing the ROM.
When I boot my Desire I get a black screen with HTC logo in each corner a triangle with exclamation point. I cannot boot into recovery anymore.
The error message I get is partition fail. and [6] system fail-pu.
With HBOOT is 6.93..., Alpharev CM7.
Who knows a solution to my problem. Please a detailed explanation. 'I m more of a noob than I thought.
Regards,
Ruvo
You have the CM7 hboot? RUU does not fit in that I think

You have to flash stock hboot and AlphaRev downgrader before flashing the RUU. Can you go into fastboot mode? If you can't I think there's a good chance your phone might be bricked.

Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I would like to return to the stock ROM on my Desire. Problem is, I don't know which RUU to get. At the moment I am using CyanogenMod 7.
Did some digging and found the app called CID Getter. If there is any info there I must provide, please tell me.
Also is there anything special to be done with the RUU or do I install it as I do any rom?
Thank you.

Would doing this remove s-off or clockwork or anything else? Or could I just re instal another custom after?
It will remove everything. You can use revolutionary after you install a custom recovery and s-off.
This is the kernel, albeit you'll have a hard time achieving what you told and it will net you virtually no gain because poor cpu is not the main drawback this phone has.

Will this RUU remove custom HBOOT also?
I've used revolutionary to achieve s-off and flash CWM. Afterwards I flashed cm7r2 hboot with P99IMG.
I am selling this unit so i need everything completely stock.

Try reflashing the ROM. Make sure you do all the wipes. If that is still not, working just try a different ROM and see what happens.

How Is that? A brick Is lifeless. If his phone Was bricked, he wouldn't be able To turn it off. If recovery Was deleted, he will get a black or blank screen

Read the troubleshooting guide sticky at the top of q&a, it explains everything. Yes it even covers your EXACT situation...
It turns out you're not the first person to try to run an RUU...
Guides like that have been made to specifically explain every single eventuality, so you don't have to open another thread explaining exactly the same thing. We are not here to copy paste the very same instructions. Please read and use it.
That file worked for me. U sure u even got stock hboot.

Hello! How are you? I've been researching but I couldn't find anything suitable for me. My device is S-off, and after I upgraded my hboot my sensors started to fail and they are not recognized by the phone. I've been reading and downgrading is possible, but I didn't find any tutorial. Can you give me a hand?? Thank youuu
