Hi any1 help?
A friend has managed to brick his xperia arc s and handed to me to see if I can do anything with it.
I have never come across a phone bricked this bad.
No charge
No switch on
No nothing
The only hope I got is the fact if I plug it in it asks for qhsusb dload driver. Managed to seek and install driver but that's about it. Not responding to SE update software.
Any suggestions?

Get it into fastboot mode > flash a firmware (ICS or GB whatever hes using)
or...
If you have CWM > Format system > Clear Data > Clear cache

Flashtool has drivers in its own folder. Install them before connecting the device and then use Flashtool to flash the firmware.
you are connecting the phone is flashmode right? for flashtool...

Hello.
Downloaded "Fastboot" and "SE 64x/86x drivers", but when i connect my Arc i fastboot mode, it just says "waiting for device".
My question is, where the h... do i put the drivers?
Best regards
I assume your bootloader is unlocked?
If not you'll have a long wait ;-)

How can i unlock the bootloader, when i can`t connect via fastboot?
Check the device manager, the android fastboot should not have a question mark. If it has, just right click over it, update driver and that should fix it. I know cos I had that problem a few hours ago cos I was using another laptop without any of my usual android related stuff.

Thank you very much! Working like a charm.
Hi all,
i just bricked my Galaxy Gio... i installed Rom Manager, downloaded CWM Recovery 4.0.1.5 which according to this:
http://clockworkmod.com/rommanager
page is the version to use with the Gio. After flashing CWM Recovery I turned the phone off.
Now my phone is _completely_ bricked... it doesn't respond to any input at all, it doesn't respond to my pushings of the on/off button.
Any ideas on how to solve this?
Flash stock with odin, plus there was a thread to not to flash cwm from rom manager.

Odin won't detect it... I guess I'll have to turn it in to my operator.

They will charge you for money, i think you need peteragent5s guide to unbrick your gio....

I found this:
http://androidflip.com/unbrick-samsung-android-phones-click-guide/
in a thread here... trying it now...
It seems that the phone is bricked permanently... it won't even go into download mode... :'(
Look for unbricking tutorial thread in
The Android Development section here by Peteragent5. There is a soultion to unbrick gio. And if you ever want to flash CWM, flash it from stock recovery (press home and power button at the same time when phone is off)

everyone! Its no use, you have to bring it back, say that you dropped it or something, they repaired mine for free
Sent from my good ol’ Gio
Give it to the service guarantees if you have
Say that when you update your phone software Kies is disabled and will not turn on
The program you probably burned RomManager Memory Storage Capacity
So for anything they should not come
A Kies as it gets updated Boot can load anything so as to disconnect the phone is dead
Perhaps exchange the motherboard and that's all

...for your commitment folks, i really appreciate it.
I turned the phone in to 3 today, they will probably have to replace the motherboard as Rom Manager seems to have... messed it up bigtime.
Hopefully they won't charge me much for this though in the reparation log it says:
Warranty: None
Insurance: None
I got the phone just a few months ago when changing mobile operator to 3... i'm really happy with the phone, just have to fully understand that in the Android world your not quite as protected as in the realm of iOS – for better and worse.

Man, try to send it for service. A friend of mine melted his cellphone motherboard just by installing a ROM with RomManager. Don't use RM anymore, it doesn't always work properly and sometimes may cause really BIG problems..

Have you found any solution....pls let me know.....im also facing this problem
I've been searching tutorials from start to finish and can't find solution to my problem.
I have a Arc S from a friend that's bricked it gets stuck on sony ericcson logo.
Tried PC Companion not detected
Tried Update Service not detected
Tried Flashtool it detects phone as connected but without developer mode
18/005/2012 14:05:49 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
18/005/2012 14:05:49 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
I hold back key, no green led
I hold menu key, no blue led
Doesn't enter fastboot mode or flashmode.
Anyone knows how can i recover it? I don't know if it's unlocked bootloader or custom firmware or anything.
I think it maybe a kernel problem but didn't find tutorial to flash it without flashtool.
Regards,
Tried that already, when i hold the buttons (either back or menu) no led lights up when i connect usb it just shows the sony ericsson logo...
Regards.
Usb debug needs to be on

From what i've been told it died overnight during an OTA update.
The only too ways the computer detects it is by getting stuck on sony logo and flashtool detecting it as usb debug disabled or by doing the testpoint and computer detecting it as a Zeus Flash Device.
All the other ways, holding buttons etc's always gets me to the stuck logo no leds no nothing.

Is there any tool that can flash a device in Zeus Flash mode?
If you can't get the Phone in flashmode as you've already stated then you need a service centre. The only other alternative is to contact Alejandrissimo or Jinx13 who have SETool and will try and help remotely.

So were you just doing a standard OTA update and then you ran out of battery?
If you want, you could try Sony's new EMMA software for returning devices with unlocked bootloaders back to stock.
Did you unbricked you phone? I have the same problem after a wipe data from clocworkmod and i am unable to go in flashmode or recovery. Fashtool detect my device but just like your with debug off...
So did you manage to fix your device? Thx and srru for my bad english. Oh and my phone is locked.

hey i'm new here
basically atm i've been trying to get cm10 onto my xperia s i'm able to do all the steps except flashing the kernel whihc requires fastboot, ive tried about everything i've read online, using vol+ while plugging the usb in and flashtool. for some reason my phone just never goes into fastboot mode and no blue led occurs, instead it either just boots normally or goes straight into charge! i don't know what else to do, i'm sure theres something i must be missing, any help is much appreciated!!!! thanks

The Drivers won't install, when I run Flashtool-drivers.exe (that was the only one that existed) and select all of the xperia S drivers, the fastboot drivers and Flashmode drivers only Sony Eriksson Comunication something something is installed, the rest sas couled not be installed (but in swedish). You don't happen to have a solution for that. But installing the drivers this way wont help sins I still has to get it into fastboot to unlock the bootloader, to get the recovery upp and runnling... when I run the phone into fastboot from flash tools it dose the exact same thing as when I dose it manually, going into fastboot for ca 5s. then enter the Sony and then the charging screen.
Once agan, using windows 8 64-bit, have acces to a vista 32-bit. I have no experience with virtual macheans so if it was possible to avoid that, that would be good.
Thank in advanced
