Where is the ESN/MEID located on galaxy s3? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I am about to buy a s3 and want to check the esn. Where would I find this info on the phone?
Also where are the water damage sensors located?
Thanks

Everything should be located under the battery cover where the battery goes. The ESN should be on the box as well, if that makes a difference. You'll see the DEC and HEX numbers where the actual battery would go.
As for the water damage sensor, I think that's what's in the lower right corner of the same section, where the battery goes. Little white pad with small "x"'s all over the place. I think if water has been present, they should turn red, but I'm not about to test that theory out for you .

The liquid damage sensor that Samsung uses turn white when exposed to water, not red.

Remove the battery and You'll Find the ESN DEC and whatever else you need.... the water mark test thing is by the battery contacts on the phone... Should be purple x'd to prove it hasnt been swimming...
Also you'll find your ESN on the box... but the best reference is your phone

Finding your MEID on a Sprint Samsung Galaxy III just dial [ *306# ]
Looking up your MEID on your Sprint smartphone (at least for a Samsung Galaxy III) is as simple as dialing; [ *#06# ].
Saw this first on YouTube (search for "How to find imei MEID samsung Galaxy S3"). Works.

attention tmobile users

hopefully there are some of you guys that can help me out
I did search the forum but didnt get the answers i needed
today my touch screen went out on my tmo branded tp2 and i am going to send it in for a warranty exchange. I need to know where all the water damage stickers are first, to my knowledge it has never seen water but you never know
so of the ones i have found so far there is one on the bottom of the battery and on on the inside lip when you take out the battery on the sd card side. there also appears to be one in the top left corner( small black circle where a screw should be)
i am wondering if there are any that i missed?
also what color are they supposed to be?
please help me out i love this phone and hoping that itll be covered under warranty so i dont have to use my insurance
pictures would also be very helpful
Thanks
Nick
nick, that sucks man! sorry I can't help you with the location, but I'm almost 100% certain that these stickers are basically like litmus paper. They are normally white, once wet, they turn light pink, or a heavy dose of water, full pink
The water damage sticker is underneath the battery on the inside lip. It'll be a white sticker unless your phone is water damaged.
yea the sticker is white and turns pink with a lil water damage or if it got steamed up if u left it in the bathroom with u and it turns red when it gets dropped in water there is only one you can see on the device which is on the wall below the bar codes. As long as that is fine and there are no broken pieces and u have stock rom back on the device and locked u will be fine.
They ask you to check them before, of course you can lie if they are pink since they can't tell over the phone but of course you'll see that nice hefty charge on your bill later. I did a warranty exchange with no problems for the SD slot not taking any of my cards, and they just asked me to take the battery out and look at that moisture sensor.

help i need the water damage indicator sticker for the EVO

where can i get one online i need the one you see as soon as you open the back case
I can get you a whole bunch of them, I work for sprint. You do know there's one under the hood right lol you have to open it and theres one near the charging port.
If you have assurance, i believe you can file a claim and get a replacement for $100. I have no idea how u get just the sticker though.
sounds fishy to me -- i mean why would you just need the water indicators unless you plan on pulling some kinda scam job with them?
They put those in there for a reason -- to keep people from being careless with their phone and then trying to charge off their mistake to the company.
I can think of NO legitimate reason anyone would need some "extra" water damage stickers
My 10 month old daughter nibbles on the end of my old hero. The marker on the battery cover is showing signs of water I meant slobber touching it though one on the battery shows so signs. Kind of an example. Phone still operates fine.....for a hero I guess lol.
Sent from my Evo
I wouldn't worry about the liquid indicators. When we open up a phone, we certainly take those into consideration, especially on the battery. But more often than not we look for corrosion on internal components to determine liquid damage. As an example, almost every HTC Hero I work on has the liquid indicator near the charging port tripped. We basically ignore it. If you really have liquid damage, a new indicator will not hide it.
^ Do you believe that the sensor is overly sensitive? Is that why you look at the board to find further evidence of water damage?
The indicator right at the bottom on the back of my EVO appears tripped because I am constantly opening it and doing SD card changes etc. and I assume its from sweat on my hands etc. I certainly wouldn't want sprint to be able to tell me to go away because of water damage when there has never been real water damage.
well were SUPPOSED TO look for actuall corrosion and/or water damage on board and not just base decisions on stickers but most of the time if tech's are feeling lazy (i don't include myself in this ) they'll just look at sticker and send you home.
zagg screen protect tripped mine but no water damage
it's too bad they don't keep these sensors just white, now making them with the red lines all over the place.
I had a 3gs that got extra soaked, so I put white out on the indicators and Apple replaced it. You can't do this with the Evo (nor would I, I have the TEP on this phone)
The only reason I did that with my iphone was because I hate Apple and they never offered an insurance plan on the phone. Had they, I would have gladly paid for it
I don't think they look at the bottom one as they actually are not putting them on newer phones (or placing them in another spot)

[Q] Lack of water damage stickers?

Are the water damage stickers hidden on these phones? I also noticed my battery doesnt have a water damage sticker either.
Kinda late reply, but i was looking for the same thing and couldnt see anything. I need to return my phone to Rogers tomorrow and spilt a small amount of coffee on it and cant see any stickers. All is running well though so i guess im safe
Don't see anything on mine. I wonder if the stickers are carrier related and google doesn't care?

I called Rogers and they said theyd look for water damage. Maybe not look as deep as a tiny white sticker? You have an interesting point though, maybe the stickers are carrier related and Rogers didnt have any on the gnex? Because doesnt verizon have some on the battery?

Thought I would let you know that there are no water damage stickers on my Verizon G-Nex. I think Google just really doesn't care if your phone gets wet.

That's so weird. I spilled a little tea on my phone about 20 minutes ago. I was just going to search this question up myself but here it is right at the top of the forum. We're syncing up guys! Gross.

I have a water sticker on my battery and phone(next to 4 pins where battery connects). Its a Verizon nexus.

Most phones in addition to having one that you can see by the battery also have one on the motherboard. That way they know if you paint the one on the outside.
Well I just took my nexus to rogers and got my new one with no questions asked. The guy didn't even check my boot loader or anything. Maybe when they ship it to Samsung, Samsung will check it out and run tests?

Green stickers inside Galaxy Nexus

Hey all. I dismantled my Galaxy Nexus in hopes to fix my vibration squeal, and when I opened it up, I found tiny green stickers that are planted inside the housing. I attempted to remove one but they are stuck there pretty dang good. Check it out.
Plus, it's not a bad idea to take it apart just to clean it. Mine was dusty so I'm glad I did it. Make sure that if you do do this that you do it in an area that's safe from ESD, which electro-static discharge. That last thing you or I would want it to have your Galaxy Nexus be fried.
Anyway, what do you think these green stickers do and why are they there? To me it makes the phone kind of cheap because of this. But no bother.
Thanks.

It's possible that they are water damage stickers.
Also, I do not recommend people start ripping apart their Galaxy Nexus phones. This voids warranty and it's possible that there are parts in the phone that get snapped or moved if user opens it that will be noticed by the tech support technician.
Dust is not a problem for mobile phones, since modern phones don't have ventilation systems that depend on flow of cool air. Your phone would have to be in use in bad conditions for a very long time to need any internal 'dusting'.

They're not liquid sensors. Take out your battery and you'll see a white sticker with 16 purple x's. That's the liquid contact indicator. The green stickers serve another purpose which I have yet to muster up a reason for. Taking apart your device for exploration is not a big deal if you know what you're doing. Obviously don't literally rip the phone apart, come on. Be smart about it. Also, there are no internal warranty void stickers inside, so you have nothing to lose if your hands are skilled.

Possibly a refurb by some slight chance...maybe your particular phone didn't pass one of the tests and had to be fixed...NFC maybe...or IDK?
Also, lol you're posting from an iPhone.

No way no how is this refurbished.i would be very sad if that were the case. I bought it back in November. Had the Samsung seal of greatness on it still intact. So I doubt it's refurbished. I took it apart to just check it out for myself, and it was toooooo easy to do.
Yeah ha, sending from an iPhone indeed. I have both units. Both I love equally. Haha.

maybe since you got it open you can check to see what the rattle is behind the camera? or maybe it is the camera sensor itself? dunno, but I noticed it the first day I bought it and seem just slightly annoyed by it. If you hold the phone in your hand and tap your finger near the camera lens you'll see what I'm talking about. Would be nice to know what it is.

It would be better if you would upload a better quality pic with both the plastic cover with the green stickers and the part on which is mounted.
maybe this is NFC transmit like on Blackberry Bold 4....

The GSM Nexus has no warranty void stickers or water indicators. The stickers may be tiny antennas

No clue what they're for, but yours isn't the only device with them (so I doubt it was a refurb, as previously suggested).

It looks like they are possible being used as a buffer to protect the way the case rubs on some of the components. Possibly like an antistatic protectant

It's probably electrical insulation.
lol as if they would be slipping refurbs back into the market as new phones! Not having a great pic to base it on these are either shorting or wear protection

[Q] [Help] Possible water damage, warranty need someone to identify something.[pics!]

My speaker and mic stopped working, I was in the shower and some water got on the screen, but it didnt seem like it went in. The two water damage indicators are fine, no sign of water damage.
I called and they are sending me a refurbished phone, but said if they detect any water damage they will charge me with $300. I have insurance, but it will cost $100 for a new phone, but if the phone is malfunctioning because of something else I don't want to pay $100.
There is what looks like rust on the right side of the sim card. Can anyone identify it for me?
the water damage indicator should be this little white sticker behind your battery. The thing in the image just looks like dirt to be honest, you could always use some cyber clean to clean the thing up.
make sure to check the little round white water damage sticker behind your battery. if it is white its ok. if it is red, then you're dead.
The normal indicators are white with pink x's on them which is normal. Its not dirt though. How extensively do they check the phone?
There's also one inside the phone, just below the camera. Not that I've ever seen it
