Storage space running out error - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey out of nowhere i've gotten this error on my galaxy nexus and i've tried installing different rom's but still the error persists, I can't backup my phone onto the computer and format it and start again because it won't connect to the computer because of phone hardware issues. ive tried deleting photos and videos still no solution I can't install apps through the market because of the issue so that's out of the question aswell as the rom not including a file manager so if someone can give me a solution i'd be extremely happy!
Thanks!

market 3.4.4 on update: first error 492, now crash system

Hi,
I'm running Cy4noobsMod-7.1.3.1 with great satisfaction since a couple of month but recently I got the following problem with the market.
I had updates for standard apps like fb, opera and a couple more ready to download but upon trying to download the market was saying it could not do it and was putting out "error 492".
Although for other phones, I found posts that suggested to wipe phone's cache form the boot menu and I tried that. Now the situation is changed:
the download does occur, but upon trying to install the whole system crashes and reboots..
It might be worth noting that I'm running S2E on an EXT4 partition appearently without problems.
thanks for your help
davide
Hi, it looks like I'm the only one with this problem..
anyhow the problem got worse and it's indeed related to S2E, now it seems unable to see the ext4 partition and can't access any app outside the core ones including S2E itself. the partition is still there though from the mac I can't see its' content and I don't have a windows pc at hand right now to look into it.
please suggest me how to proceed.
thank you
davide
did I break some rule of this forum?
I haven't seen many other posts with specific problem going unreplied...
Had this few months ago just stop using s2e reflash should help

[Q] External SD and Storage Issue

Hi,
I have searched far and wide for weeks trying to find a solution to issues I am having on a Samsung Galaxy S2 T989 (Telus) - unlocked and being used with a Rogers SIM. Android version 2.3.5 | Kernel version 2.6.35.11
I bought a 32 GB memory card (formatted and mounted before using)
When trying to access gallery of photos taken on the phone (I have not added any content from my computer) it gives me the message "not enough memory, delete some items". This also occurs when I try and dl a wallpaper using Zedge.
I have gone through forums that have said to move items over to the "external SD", and when I do that in "Files" it doesn't seem like they are actually being moved over. I have tried to move apps from the phone to the internal SD, and eventually get a message telling me that there is not enough memory on the SD.
I am also unable to connect to Kies (not sure if working on a Mac is part of the issue) and understand this is to be Samsung file manager program. Is there an alternative to this?
I am fairly new to Android, and understand the OS operates quite differently from a computer, but I really feel like I am missing something. And apologize if the answer to my problems is really obvious, but I typically have no issue figuring these things out.
If someone could point me in the right direction, even to a forum or place that explains how it all works, I would really appreciate it. I would like this issue fixed asap, but I would also like to understand why it is happening and am happy to do the research or read about it to learn.
Thank you to anyone who can give me any kind of answers!!!
ODIN back to stock then flash whatever ROM you want to use. My wife's vibrant had the same problem for a while. The only way I could get files on and off was to pop out the sd card and stick it into my computer. After I ODINed back to stock and reflashed CM7 everything worked.

[Q] File Recovery (Pictures) - MTP

Hi guys,
I really need your help on this one.
I have searched the forums and the web for a full day now and it seems that I am not alone with my problem here:
Last night I used Solid Explorer to create a subfolder with pictures within the Camera folder. I then tried to move that folder somewhere else on the "SD Card".
But when the process was finished, the subfolder was empty and all the pictures were gone. I could still see the thumbnails in the Camera folder, but when I tried to open one of them, they also all just disappeared!
Now I have read several threads here on xda about the problems of file recovery on a MTP device... Seems like normal file recovery programs will not be of any help in this case.
However I was hoping, that by now someone came up with a solution to this problem, since it affects all users of the GNex.
Some more infos on my side:
The phone runs 4.0.4, is not rooted and not unlocked - everything is stock.
Data back up via Google Plus and Dropbox was not possible, since I am on holidays in Asia with no data plan or WiFi available.
I have switched the phone to flight mode and (hopefully) not written any new data on the storage.
So my questions would be the following:
1) Has anybody yet found a way to asign a physical drive letter to the GNex, making it possible to be recognized by regular file recovery software?
Or is anybody currrently looking into that matter, trying to find a solution?
2) In case that I will not be able to recover the pictures myself through some pc software off the net, will I be able to let some professional have my files restored for me? If I understand correctly, all it takes is a software, that is able to recognize a ext3 or ext4 storage system???
I would really appreciate any help on this matter, because these pictures mean a lot to me and I really hope that I will be able to get them back somehow.
Thanks in advance,
Patrick.
Edit: Argh! First post and I got it wrong already! Sorry, I meant to post this in the Q/A section but ended up posting it in General :-/
I had to format my sd card losing 13GB of information yesterday. This was also due to stupid mtp. Sorry i doubt you can recover.
Sorry to hear that! Until now I could never understand the objections many people seemed to have concerning MTP, as it handled pretty much the same as an USB device when using a Windows PC. But now that I gained some insight in the matter, it's probably the ONE thing I don't like about this phone.
It just sucks to find that out the hard way...
But maybe somebody else still has an idea and can point me in the right direction?
I've had the same problem, and I'm blaming MTP as well. I finally gave up, formatted my drive and replaced MTP with cloud services or transferring files via adb.

need help, phone crashing

my phone start crashing after i uninstalled some apps yesterday
now when i reboot my phone it shows those massage:

now every app that related to the sd card isnt working, like camera and my files
it also crashed immidiately when i hit the storage option in setting, shows setting has stopped
and the notification bar went disappeared too
anyone can help me pls?
This is why you shouldn't delete anything from your device if you do not know what it is....i'm not sure what you removed but those 3 processes that fail to start are the apps that control your media - ringtones, music, notifications, etc, MTP - the transfer protocol which handles mounting your sd card, and obviously your internet browser isn't working. Without knowing exactly what files you deleted the best thing for you to do is reinstall your ROM. Either the stock ROM or whatever ROM you are currently running. You should be ok with just reflashing over top of whats left if you are running a custom ROM without losing any data but the stock ROM flashed by Odin will wipe your device. Since you didn't bother lettinng us know what kind of phone you have i can't point you in the right direction as to what files you should look for. Do yourself a favor....if you are gonna go just deleting whatever gets in your path, make a backup first .

yes, it is a sgh-i747 phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426 ...use this guide to flash the stock rooted ROM. Backup any data that you are able to get to as this is going to wipe your phone. If you have an external sd i would take it out, and i suppose if you really needed to get to the internal sd the file manager in TWRP MIGHT access without the use MTP but i am not sure about this.

[Q] Host of problems after rooting and using CM10

After a couple of hours trying to find someone with the same problems as me I came up with nothing, so I decided to make a thread.
Firstly, I am no where near versed in device hacking so I am hoping these problems are just due to my ignorance.
My coworker rooted and loaded cm10 and teamwinrecovery onto my sprint GS3 and since then I have had a few issues. The most frustrating problem I am currently experiencing is the phone will not write anything to the external sd. There is no indication as to why this is the case. Under the storage option in settings it shows that it can read the external SD card yet programs seem to not be able to see that it is there. For example my camera will not give me the option to save photos to the external SD and programs like app 2 sd wont give me the option to transfer any of the apps to the SD card even ones that i know are supposed to work like Winamp. Also ive tried using DirectoryBind to change the directory of apps and music but I'm just prompted to create a new file because the data directory doesn't exist and asks if i want to create one. I tap yes and i am just prompted with the same error again and again.
My second main issue is when I dock my phone to my windows 7 PC I get an enigmatic problem. Either i get an error that says the USB malfunctioned and cannot be recognized and the SGS3 won't show up in mycomputer. Or, the default drivers install fine and the device will show up in windows. However, if i try syncing winamp or even dragging files over to my phone it will copy for anywhere from 1 second to 5 minutes and then windows will freeze and if i close the process it will crash windows and/or winamp. I tried installing the samsung usb drivers but then i just get a device ID error and it wont show up.
I was able to find some people with similar issues but not the constantly changing one i have. All the fixes that have been suggested have not worked.
I realize this is more likely an issue with my computer than my phone but when i was running stock it would work fine.
If anyone can provide some insight into these problems or can direct me to someone with a similar issue it would be much appreciated.
I really like CM10 but these issues are deal breakers for me and I dont really want to go through risking bricking my phone in order to try and get back to stock but i will if it will fix these problems.
