my phone start crashing after i uninstalled some apps yesterday
now when i reboot my phone it shows those massage:
android.process.media has stopped
mtp application has stopped
internet has stopped
i have tried factory reset, it doent help.
also in the recovery mode i cant mount sd card
now every app that related to the sd card isnt working, like camera and my files
it also crashed immidiately when i hit the storage option in setting, shows setting has stopped
and the notification bar went disappeared too
anyone can help me pls?

This is why you shouldn't delete anything from your device if you do not know what it is....i'm not sure what you removed but those 3 processes that fail to start are the apps that control your media - ringtones, music, notifications, etc, MTP - the transfer protocol which handles mounting your sd card, and obviously your internet browser isn't working. Without knowing exactly what files you deleted the best thing for you to do is reinstall your ROM. Either the stock ROM or whatever ROM you are currently running. You should be ok with just reflashing over top of whats left if you are running a custom ROM without losing any data but the stock ROM flashed by Odin will wipe your device. Since you didn't bother lettinng us know what kind of phone you have i can't point you in the right direction as to what files you should look for. Do yourself a favor....if you are gonna go just deleting whatever gets in your path, make a backup first .

yes, it is a sgh-i747 phone

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426 ...use this guide to flash the stock rooted ROM. Backup any data that you are able to get to as this is going to wipe your phone. If you have an external sd i would take it out, and i suppose if you really needed to get to the internal sd the file manager in TWRP MIGHT access without the use MTP but i am not sure about this.

[Q] please help, applications on sd stuck on computing

Hi guys writing on this forum is now my last resort in the hopes may be someone has an idea what the hell is actually going on, my desire hd has been causing problems where when i update any of my apps they get stuck on installing, then i try to wipe the market data and cache but the whole system gets stuck on computing so i cant do anything, when i reboot the phone, the apps go away, all the sd apps dont appear, and the system still says computing for all the apps.....ive tried everything, i noticed when all this was going the android secure folder had some.-2 extensions although they werent duplicates so i moved all apps to internal storage, deleted the android secure folder and moved them all back, so they all had -1 extensions, phone worked fine for about 2 months until yesterday, was updating an app on 3g and it got stuck in the installing phase, computing came back, rebooted phone, no help, shutdown phone and back on again and all the apps were then read, took time to clear the mqrket data and cache, went to root explorer since i had stored it on phone storage, went to mnt, .asec and all the apps had the -1 extension, so now i dont know what to do....
Its a nightmare, cant update and everytime the apps do come back after repeated switching on and off of the phone, everytime i try to update an app it gets stuck on installing and computing comes back.....its wierd cuz ive changed the sd card, moved all apps from phone atorage to sd but the problems still there....right now i cant asses the sd apps, ill try rebooting and see of they come back again....ive backed manually all the android secure folder apps on my computer, ive noticed something wierd, when i move batch of 10 apps from computer to phone they are read fine and come up on the phone, i keep doing this in steps, manually mounting and then unmounting the sd card till all my apps qre transfered to the android secure folder and all are read just fine by the phone, but as soon as i do a reboot they all dissapear again, ive also noticed that when apps are working perfect they are located in the mnt, .asec directory when i view em theough root explorer, but when i the apps are not being read like right now they are located in the mnt, staging, .asec directory
Im sorry guys for the lengthy explanation but wanted to give as much information as possible, i guess what im saying is when i do manage to get my sd apps working by repeated rebooting of phone, everytime i try to update an app it gets stuck on installing and computing comes back so the whole process of reboot starts all over again, as that is the only way i can get the sd apps back....
Any help would be appreciated, thanks for the patience in reading all this, oh when the phone did work fine during the last 2 months, the only way i kept it going was because everytime i updated an app the ext-2 appeared on it, so i had to move it to phone and then back to sd card, i dont know if the -2 ext appearing is normal everytime u update an app but since i had exams going on i had to keep the phone working so i never took a chance of updating an app that was already on the -2 ext, but now i guess none of the apps are and the problems back for some reason...
Please ask questiona if this is gettin a whole lot confusing for some
any ideas
Guessing no one knows what i might be talking about then, any ideas would be helpful guys...

OK the -2 just means there was already an app there when it updated. If you uninstall the app and reinstall it then it will be a -1 app again. From your first post it looks like you have alot of apps on your SD card? What calss is your SD card? Have you tried starting from scratch and reunstalling the apps from the market one by one to see it one app is causing the issue? From the statement about computing I would try a greasy start all together. Full wipe and reinstall the rom. Then your apps one by one. Will it be long? Yeah but its then only way to slim it down and find the issue.
thanks
Thabks zelendel, that really helped, strange that its happening, only some of the apps are giving e this problem, i just unistalled all the -2 and have reinstalled them, ill keep u updated if the problem goes away, im sure its cuz of the -2 s the app stalls and multiple reboots are needed to get them working again...whereas factory reset goes, oh boy thats gona be a long one, lets see how this one goes, ill keep u updated, and thanks again for all the help...

[Q] Apps not installed after reboot

I need a bit of help guys, the thing is that I'm running Pac-Rom on my LG Nitro HD because I found it to be the most stable rom
after a long trial and error period as well bricking my phone many times. I have only 1 problem on this custom rom, my apps tend to disappear for
absolutely no reason whenever the phone turns off or reboots. I've been messing around for the past 3 days trying to figure out if it's some issue
with the encrypted .android.secure folder so I installed all apps onto the onboard internal storage and deleted the folder then tried replacing all the
apps back on the SDcard hoping that would work, and it didn't. Not all of my apps disappear though, some stay on the SDCard and work perfectly
fine but games over 20-30MB will disappear and I have no clue why. My next effort would be to format the entire SDCard again because I don't
understand why these apps keep disappearing Any ways I appreciate any help, I've been googling and lurking this forum for days now haven't found
anything but a terminal command that doesn't work for me :crying:
Wow this forum is really dead huh?
so,you try to install app to sdcard, and they will disappear?
if this is the case, then make sure you sdcard is not fake. i have seen cards formatted as 16gb, but actually is only 2gb

Nah it's not fake, I have tons of pictures, movies, and music on it as well I'm running Pac-ROM and it shows me the amount of my storage on the sdcard as well, it's just when I install the applications onto the sdcard and the phone restarts the apps I installed onto the sdcard just stay on my screen (if placed on) and when I go to tap on them it says "app not installed" :\
i've never heard of this but it sounds like some sort of bug caused the by reflashing of the partitions during reboot.
does the app get deleted from the sdcard or is the app still on the sdcard just not registered with phone?
if the app hasn't been physically deleted it's a rom issue, try the rom in my sig its based off stock but debloated with custom kernel, its very stable.
or if you have your heart set on the rom your already using, try redownloading and reflashing, don't just reflash your download file was probly corrupt. and i don't think these forums are that dead, this is just a bit of an odd issue that the average person doesn't want to guess at, i like guessing tho
if the app is physically deleted from the sdcard, i would try doing some malware/virus scans, because that would be really fishy.

Well I ended up getting frustrated and downloaded Titanium Backup Pro then moved all my apps onto the SD-Card which works wonders but I decided to change my rom because Pac was using 500mb+ of my ram for system rom memory rather than the normal 200mb since Pac is a hybrid of AOKP, Paranoid Android, and CM10.1 so now I'm happy I got past the SD Card apps not being installed but now I'm having this issue. Yet I cannot even post in the development section due to my posts...
Nevermind I still have the same problem even switching through roms, I'm now running HONO Full Throttle and I'm losing all my apps whenever I restart my phone and have them all on my SD card.

clockwork mod and root questions on Galaxy s3 question.

I am attempting to install clockwork mod on my Samsung galaxy s3 and want to know if the Samsung Galaxy s3 (metroPCS) in the setup is the right install for model number SGH-I747M. Im asking this because when rooting my phone i used the wrong Samsung root and ending up bricking my phone. I then went to a store where they do that kind of stuff and got them to recover and install root for me. Im still running on stock firmware thou. Wondering also if im fine with stock firmware 4.1.2, but would stock firmware limit me in any way for root apps?
Termal emulator the java enabler scripted for dolphin doesn't work for me. Also someone link me to that muiltitouch scripted.
DroidSailAPP2SD sometimes when i have it guided to install to SD card it says insignificant space for some apps. I deleted the cache for playstore like i read on another post and i think that worked maybe.
when i click on install to sd card it just brings me to the app info page. Is that normal or is there soppost to be some sort of progress bar.
If I install on sd card and take out the card will the apps be disabled or will it crash?
Just installed ADfree didn't seem to get rid of adds on tetris. Maybe i have to set it up some how?
Rom toolbox seems like, a all around program. Worth the full version?
uninstaller app worked wonderfull.

I went in the dolphin settings and checked and there is a flash box i picked it. I think it has flash now. haven’t checked. The forum i must of read was prob old and they added it in a newer update.
I really think apps are not installing on SD card. I looked under clockwork mod and theirs an option to partition the SD card for installation of apps. Like I said I press the install to SD card and it goes to app info page on a different app. I don't see any transferring bar or anything. Next time i gotta see how much memory i have to compare.
Is that what I was I soppost to do? I still haven’t installed clockwork mod im afraid of it being a different version still.
i don't think Droidsail is doing anything. I select the file then click on move selected app and it asks me for root access and when it does it goes to the app info page. No progress bat or anything.
I found another app called foldermount witch I think makes a directory on your sd card with the app. looks like it works. looking at the folder it seems that it just copys the app. When i check how big the app folder is it's the same size both on the sd card and internal. Apps are located at Android/data right?
I need a answer for the clockworkmod asap.
I found another thread about Mounts2sd.It requires me to make a SD-EXT partion do i do this by enabling the cache-move the cache partion to data or sd-ext. going to read the thread thouly

[Q] Help me with media issue?

So i was on g2 apps v5.5 rom for some time when all of a sudden my media stopped scanning, i wasnt sure why, rescan media apps werent working either, so i decided to flash a new rom and i chose candykat, since then all of my files that i used to have, pictures, videos, etc have completely vanished. i cant locate the files in 7 zipper, es file explorer, and media scan apps still bring me nothing. Yet my internal storage still has the same amount of space used that it did before, and also when i go into CWM and choose install a zip it shows all the folders and things that i am missing, but that is the only place i see the folders but i dont have access to my files from cwm. Also i have noticed that when i am on 7zipper looking through files my internal storage says storage/emoulated/0 and i have no idea what the emulated is about, if anyone has any info or knows what im talking about please to help, Im not too great with phone stuff but i am okay, so if anyone has any simplified steps to give me on how to fix this issue it would be appriciated, thank you.
No answers anyone?
Just do some searching mate. And use ROOT EXPLORER and give it access.

The way Kitkat makes the "SDcard"/"Internal Storage" directory is different from how it was on Jelly bean. <--EDIT: By this, I mean that the directory path is different.
The card is reading that X amount of data is on the card, yet you can't see it because your files are technically still there, but under the old directory path.
There are a couple of ways to fix this, but the EASIEST (IMO) way is to first restore a JB Nandroid backup (you can backup your KK ROM first if desired). First thing you'll notice is that the files will be there again. Now, plug your phone into your computer and copy all the files to it.
Reboot into recovery and format the internal SD. It's best to do it from within recovery, because otherwise, JB will just recreate the JB file structure and immediately start saving stuff to it. So when you get to KK, there will once again be the old structure hidden and with some files taking up space.
Now either reflash your KK rom or restore your KK backup.
Boot it up and copy your files back to the phone.
*I ran into this same issue after flashing KK for the first time. This is the exact process I did to resolve it.
Another way is to use a root file browser and locate the old directory and copy everything over to the new one. However, I think this might take quite a long time since the phone can do this only so fast.

[Q] Unable to connect to PC properly after rooting

Hello,
I have had my HTC One M8 for a while now but I wasn't really happy with the soundquality while playing through my headphones, so I looked for ways to improve it. I found a few methods and finally decided to give it a try. These methods require a root so yesterday I have rooted my phone for the first time. Unfortunately I am experiencing some problems now.
The rooting process went without too much trouble. I used hasoon2000's toolkit and have TWRP version 2.7.0.2 installed as recovery and used it to install the provided SuperSU, which didn't work at first. On the forums I found a newer version and installed that one, updated it and got it to work.
Now this is where I think I messed up: I read somewhere that when rooted, you are able to delete pre-installed apps from the phone. I downloaded SD maid and deleted Kid Mode, Zoe and 7digital. When I deleted Kid Mode I got an error saying it has crashed. I tapped away the error but from this point I couldn't go back to my homescreen anymore because my launcher kept crashing (com.htc.launcher crashed). I rebooted the phone and the launcher worked again, but the phone still seemed to be buggy.
After this I tried to install the snapdragon audio+ (this was my first choice for an equalizer). I downloaded the apk and moved it to the system folder using ES file manager. I installed but when I tried to use it (through settings in google play music app) my phone would crash. I uninstalled it and tried again, but when I tried to move the apk to the system map like before, my phone would crash everytime. I then found out the file I used doesn't work for lollipop so I figured that's what caused the crashes.
My next move was to try and install viper4android. I downloaded it from the Play Store and opened it. It told me it needed an installation of BusyBox so I downloaded that too. But when I opened the BusyBox app and clicked install my phone would crash again. After some searching I found that the HTC One M8 requires BusyBox to be flashed manually so I downloaded the file but when I tried to load it onto my phone I noticed this wasn't possible anymore.
Now when I connect my phone to my PC the PC recognizes it, but when I open the map in Windows Explorer it only shows three maps; .showme, _nero_sync and Ringtones. I know there should be more as they were there before. It also shows my phone's capacity as a total of 10GB (shouldn't this be 16GB?). Also when I try to connect it with Sync Manager it gives me an error everytime I reconnect the phone; Device unavailable. Please reconnect your device [4].
I have tried to reset the phone through settings, wipe with TWRP and fix permissions with TWRP. I also tried reinstalling Sync Manager and the drivers on my PC. What I'm thinking now is I maybe have done something wrong in the ES file explorer that would make the folders unaccessible.
My phone is running stock android 5.0.1 and my PC Windows 7 64-bit.
I hope someone can help me, Thanks.
P.S: Sorry for the long post, I figured I'd give as much info as possible.
@Steef076 First update recovery to the latest one (2.8.6.0)
Second if you go and delete vital or integrated parts of the stock rom you will get a lot of bugs. Third, viper4android requires to write system and you can't write system with the stock kernel, you need an unsecured kernel or unsecure it yourself.
10GB is right since 6 is eaten by android. At this point I would just revert to a backup or install any custom rom around here. Most are close to stock and with no bloatware and come with root. You can even clean them further using a tool called ROM Cleaner. It will most likely solve all your problems
Did the deleted system apps reappear after reboot, or do they remain "uninstalled"? If the system is write protected like TempestZ states, any deleted system apps should reappear after a reboot.
Revert your nandroid to restore the system apps. And you didn't make a nandroid, you really should before making any system modifications for the very reason that it allows you to revert if you run into problems.
Another good practice, is if you don't know what effect deleting a system app will have (such as "safe to delete" lists that can sometimes be found on XDA) you should first freeze the app with Titanium Backup. If freezing doesn't cause any issues, then go ahead and delete. If you do have issues, just unfreeze the app.

No, Windows will never show 16 GB. It only shows "internal storage" partition, or the user accessible portion of the storage. A good chunk is reserved for the OS.
Does what is shown in Windows differ from what is shown in ES if you browse to internal storage?
Thanks for the replies. @TempestZ @redpoint73
First of all I managed to update twrp to 2.8.6.0 using adb/fastboot.
To answer your question @redpoint73 the system apps I had deleted indeed reappeared after reboot. Also I didn't make a nandroid before I deleted the files, as I did not even know this was possible. Now I have made a nandroid of my stock ROM that is working decently, except for the TV app keeps crashing (I'm not opening it) and the connection to the PC is not working properly (not sure if this is ROM based?). I have noticed when the phone is in recovery I CAN see the folders through windows explorer. HTC sync manager still doesn't find it though. I am working on finding a proper stock ROM or maybe flash a custom one to see if that will fix it.
I understand now that the OS is taking up the storage space. The space windows is showing is the same as ES file manager so I guess this is fine.
HTC Sync is a hot mess. It often causes more troubles than it solves.
One thing you can try (to see if it fixes the USB connectivity) is uninstall HTC Sync and all HTC drivers. Than connect the phone. Don't let it install HTC Sync. Go to Windows Device Manager, find the device. Then pick the option to manually select the drivers, and pick the generic "Android MTP device" (or something to that effect) drivers.
This doesn't work for everyone. But it worked for me to be able to "see" the internal storage of my M8 on my home PC (Win 7). Annoyingly, it seems to vary from one PC to another. My work laptop (also Win 7) works fine with HTC Sync.

So if I understand correctly, 'version-main' is the same as 'firmware' and 'software number' (found in settings)? If so, my current firmware seems to be 4.19.114.2.
Now, what you're saying is I should do an OTA but this isn't possible because I have a custom recovery right?
Also, when I want to flash stock rom and stock recovery or do a nand don't I need the files that fit my cidnum? How would your file work for me?

If yours already on 4.19.114.2 then no need to do OTA as that the latest.
and my backup will bring back your device back to stock as you first bought it when restore with a full wipe.
Try to solve your problem first, only when you really need the backup then only I will upload ... let me know

Hello, sorry for the late reply.
I have decided to give a custom ROM a try. I now have ARHD 41.0 installed and it seems this took care of my problems. All the maps are showing in windows explorer and HTC sync manager is connecting properly with my phone again. Also no more crashing apps. Your backup would still be of much use for me as I am not sure I want to stick with a custom ROM and therefore would like to have a stock ROM backup.
Thanks in advance.
