use apex launcher, it is based on the stock ics/jb launcher but with much more functionality, one of them is to make the apps in the app drawer scroll vertically.

Any luck if we can change scroll orientation other than launchers..default launcher should scroll vertically...

no it shouldn't.
it called variation,
it called improvisation.
there's a change we should get used to it

Well original ICS and JB have launchers scrolling vertically.
Great new fearure

Launcherpro question?

How do I get that app opening zoom effect back? Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
try using adwlauncher-EX, it features more animations than launcherpro =)
For the app drawer? menu > preferences > advanced settings > app drawer opening speed. If it is set at 10 there will be no zooming effect. Mine is set at 4.
The app drawer is absolutely perfect with the zoom but it isn't doing that with my apps.

That's wierd.. It looks like the app opening and the app drawer opening speeds are set by the same control... my drawer and apps do it at the same speed..
Maybe you could try setting it the way you want it and then rebooting, if you havent already.. that's all I got

Uses more memory, less overall performance
[email protected] and the app doesn't zoom at all, just the app drawer..

Go launcher double tap app

I dunno of Anyone uses this but if ya have go launcher and double the screen it allows you to draw a gesture as a shortcut to open an app.
I am wondering is there an app like this without installing go launcher!?
Hope someone can help!

Try LMT Launcher.
It's free and has gesture controls and optionally a pie menu where you can assign different funtions to each segment.

If the long-tap method doesn't work, you may have to go with a launcher such as Nova or Apex that allows custom icon packs. Both have free editions.
Ya tried the long press didn't work..its d stock launcher ..m rooted any hack available? ?

I'm not really sure what Nexus interface looks like but I'd recommend using Go Launcher Ex
It's a user friendly, very smooth and most importantly very customizable launcher
You can make it look like anything you want with endless themes to choose from, along with making folder, sorting, hiding, custom arranging options. Not to mention screen scroll and transition animations.
Give it a shot, you won't regret it
Play store link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gau.go.launcherex
Possible Nexus theme you might like (again, I don't know how nexus interface looks like, I just liked this theme on first look ) : https://play.google.com/store/apps/...erexthemes.ultimatenexus7golauncherexprotheme
Don't forget to hit Thanks if it helps
I will try

Use a different launcher like nova or adw that let's you swap out icons or use an app like anycut, bettercut or desktop visualizer.

Use Quick Shortcut Maker. I use it all the time. Create the shortcut in an open spot on your homescreen, and then just drag and drop it where you want. Your OP shows the phone icon, so if you want that you can install icon packs for other launchers like Nova, Apex, etc., and then when you create the shortcut, just pick from the icon pack you have that has the one you want. It works great. The best way I found is to use the widget version. You can use the app itself, but sometimes it doesn't create the icon. Instructions for both are included on the app page on Google Play.

Enjoy!
Thank You. Desktop visualizer works perfect.
