Hello
SO ive been trying for hours for my computer to recognize my G2. I plug it in and no notifications appears.
I downloaded HTC synch and still no luck.
I quick googled my issue and i found that maybe my usb settings werent set as 'Ask me', but i cannot find 'Connect PC' in my settings app.
Adnroid 2.3.4
Anyone?
Thanks
does your computer make a noise when you plug it in? if it made the triple dull ding then it's a driver issue. uninstall the driver then plug it back in. it should reinstall the driver.
if that's not the issue, then you need to identify what rom you're using. anything with sense should have a "Connect to PC" option in the settings menu.
lastly, it could be a bad usb cable.

Launch the car mode app and hit exit car mode. Its one of the big buttons. It should not be starting itself automatically... what rom are you using?
I know but i deleted that apk and it still showing off on status bar and when i click on it i get to home screen because of missing apk. But i got it, settings/locations and untick first option....i think that was a problem.

Check your USB port. It could just be dirt shorting the contacts.

What does that have to do with anything?

The usb port is very sensitive to voltage change. And a piece of dirt can trigger the car mode because it thinks the car charger is plugged in.

+1 thats the way to do it
Check with Titanium Back Up to see if you have an app named "Connect to PC". I did uninstall the app once and could not switch to disk mode. Have to reinstall the app. Luckily that I have the app backed up by Titanium.
I'm new to SGS-II and am trying to take a screen using ddms.bat in the SDK. All my prior phones have been HTC starting with the G1 and all I had to do was plug the phone in and double click on ddms.bat in the tools folder. I have USB Debugging checked. Doesn't seem to work with the T989 SGS-II. My SDK is up to date and works on the HTC Sensation. Any ideas would be helpful, thanks in advance.
EDIT:
I have the T989 USB drivers downloaded and installed and it doesn't show up in the device manager either.

Its more like a quick tap of the two. You can't hold it for too long.

Exactly, barely hold the home button and very quickly tap the power button. If you do it correctly you should see a snapshot animation

Okay, got that but I'd still like the sdk to work. The T989 doesn't show up on Windows 7 device manager when plugged in even though I have the USB drivers downloaded and installed.

Try installing pdanet. It installs device drivers which may relieve your situation. Also make sure USB debugging is checked

I've got usb debugging checked, I'll give pdanet a try. All the phones I've had and rooted since 2008 have always been in the device manager. If I go to my platform-tools folder and with the correct path and cd (enter) adb devices (enter) - nada.
How do, I'm trying to sync my One V to the sync manager, but even though i have "USB Debugging" unchecked, it turns itself on everytime i try to start the sync manager, subsequently telling me that its unable to connect. what do i do??
turn off 'developer options' .

On aokp mtp is not working so I want to enable mass storage. Going to storage then going to USB settings only has CTP & MTP. I've already done 2 clean installs fixed permissions nothing is working.

Make sure USB debugging is on in settings, its hidden somewhere I think in developer settings on aokp/paranoid.

Yep that's already done

Faulty cable, that should allow the mass storage mode. Is that a bug in the ROM maybe?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
When you connect the usb cable and see the usb icon in the taskbar, slide it down and select "usb connected", then select the grey bar on the bottom that says "Turn on USB storage"
Seen this in another thread..
Go into storage in settings then hit the menu key.

Done all that it's not faulty if you look in the aokp thread more than just me is experiencing this issue....I'm asking how to actually add it to the ROM.
I've tried one thing it didn't work....

she/he isnt' the only one having a problem with aokp and external sd card access. I just flashed my note II before the OTA was forced on me and i am unable to access the card even after formatting it on the pc first. file explorer, titanium, elixir all can't access it. can't access it though usb either and i've enabled it via the unobvious menu button option. the PC doesn't see it as a device not does the phone. So it isn't just his phone.
I am having the same issue...I know is not the cable.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thank you!
