Google Now working on SGS3 (need root + CWM) - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

This isn't posted anywhere in the Sprint SGS3 forums (that I could find from searching - yes I did and I apologize if I missed it), and if you are like me, I don't really pay attention to the other SGS3 variants as diligently. I thought it deserved its own thread for people to see here.
Here is how to install the Google Now on your Sprint SGS3 on the stock Rooted TW rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29756226&postcount=2856
I have done this on my phone and it works great, just like on CM10 preview. You need to be rooted and you need a custom recovery, but other than that, its really simple.
Also, the home button double tap does launch a "Call ____" feature that doesn't work. So if you want to launch Google Now or Google Voice Search from the double tap install this app Home2 Shortcut and set the double tap to whatever you want.

Already have it installed. Just a tip to anyone who is having issues, use the "Back to Stock" zip then re-flash the M6 (or latest version) zip file. I have seen many people in that thread state this resolve multiple issues (at least issues that at not known bugs).

Flash Back to Stock zip, then reboot, then back into recovery, then flash M6 (or latest)?
Or just flash Back to Stock, then flash M6 right away still in the same session of recovery, then reboot?

I flashed the M6 Online/Offline zip and lost ability to receive text messages.

That's odd. Mine are fine.
Did you flash the Back to stock zip and then the M6 version again?
Maybe try to wipe your cache before next flash?

Marcusant's Revival & GPS fix

I'm currently running Marcusant's acs-ics v4, acs recovery 1.0.0.5, cwm4. I flashed the gps fix and that's working great.
I'm looking at Revival and haven't seen anything in the 19 pages about anyone having gps issues with his new ROM. Will I still need to flash gps fix after installing Revival?

I was thinking the same thing. I haven't tried the ROM you're referring to, but I would assume it's probably included in it already. Flash the ROM, check it out. If it's bogus, then you can always flash the GPS fix after that.
Thanks. When I didn't see it listed on Marcusant's Feature List http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375345 I thought I'd ask.
Here's a couple of noob questions: Do I need to update to the latest versions of ACS Recovery and CWM to use/download Marcusant's Revival ROM? If so, how do I update to the latest versions of ACS Recovery and CWM? I obviously installed the earlier versions, but that was weeks ago now and I'm old and already forgot how I did it. I'm currently using ACS Recovery v1.0.0.5, and CWM4.
No. just flash

I just tried that zip, it doesnt work. However in general a patch like this will work on our phone, we just need one that is right for us. And also this may be already baked into our roms.
Edit: I looked at the forums of my old phone and found a zip that works Link
So I was bored today and so I tested the different drivers with quadrant
Here are the results:

Best values are highlighted
How it was tested:
Rom: Unofficial CM9
Procedure: battery pull, test first without then with 2D acceleration, flash qualcomm drivers, repeat tests
Conclusion: I am going to use the qualcomm drivers with 2D acceleration on because it is the best in two, almost three, out of five categories
Disclaimer: As I may have fudged this up, not gotten a big enough sample, or have slight differences in hardware, I strongly suggest that you try this for yourself
Edit: if your phone will not auto-rotate after you flash the drivers just do a cache wipe and it should start working again

I hope I don't come off as a **** saying this. If you have to ask, you need to do some more reading and learning before you start messing with stuff like this.

Too scared to update since I'm not on stock rom and it might make more problems with my airave but it's 39.7 MB.
Any news on this?
trust me if you are rooted it an't gonna install. If you keep pressing install later then it will keep poppin up that update notification. Just click install and it will try to install but it will not and you will no longer receive that notification.

hmmm, think its the lg8 update. i see you have the lg8 baseband but the build says lg2. if i'm right and the notification becomes a burden, replace your build.prop with this one and i bet the update notification goes away. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39180283/build.prop (right click, save link as). Its from blazer just modded to look like its updated.
I'm still stock. Should I do this update will it make it harder to root? What is the l g 8 update?

flash this, you will be stock LG8, but rooted and all that, then flash theme afterward.
I'm guessing that it's just the notification for the "official" LG8 update that came out 2 weeks ago. I'll bet you've only been on custom roms since it came out so the system thinks you haven't updated yet.
I'm on Build number IMM76D.L710VPALG2. I tried this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KeZx65twLk and downloaded the recovery file that it shows and the update file but when I try to install them I get an update aborted notification.
Do I need to update to a different version from LG2 before I can update to the latest LG9? Not sure where the problem is coming in
Also I still seem to have Superuser even after flashing the recovery file which is supposed to be stock with Odin. I'm not sure if that is what is causing the problem. Odin flashes the recovery file fine, not sure why its not taking.
The error that I'm getting is
E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Update:
Looks like something is just weird with the instructions on that Youtube video, I can't get that to work. Ran the Odex version in the developers section, (Odin stuff, Update, Modem) and now I'm at the latest. If anyone else runs into problems with the Youtube version it might be best to just use the instructions on the developers section, you don't need to erase your data it seems when you flash the Odex versions.

Bell gs3 jb leak install (how-to)

I'm not specifically sure where I would put this thread, but is a tutorial on how to upgrade your GS3 to a leaked JB official rom
(Bell).
Note* External SD Card may be required, was the only way I could get it to work.
*Forgot to mention this removes root, so you will need to root again if you don't like this leak
Firstly, follow these instructions on using odin to flash to the latest firmware. All downloads provided in link. http://www.theandroidsoul.com/mvlalh1/
It is pretty straightforward and similar to other rooting methods. If you have a kernel installed do not worry, this firmware will overwrite it and restore all stock drivers etc.
**If you get stuck on a boot loop or the boot screen take out the battery and reboot recovery and wipe data/factory reset.**
Next you want to download the OTA leak here http://www.hotfile.com/dl/171511232/8603d3c/SGH-I747M_I747MVLALI-OTA-I747MVLALH_BMC_325174257.zip.html.
After download, place onto your External SD Card (can also try internal but did not seem to work for me).
Now go onto your phone and power it off.
Reboot into recovery (Volume Up+Home+Power. Hold all till Vibrate, then quickly release and hold again. You will see samsung logo with "recovery" in top left but its small)
Now you want to Apply Update from location of the OTA leak (cache did not work for me).
Reboot.
You should now be enjoying TouchWiz with Google Now and JB awesomeness!! Lemme know if you have any issues. Thank me if I helped you out pal!

BUGS**
Only noticed bug so far is a blue screen flickering from accessing the task manager quickly. Random, and nothing to worry about. Overall very stable.
Google+ is preinstalled, and runs in background and chews battery. Disable it. If you use it then you have to deal with the battery life.
Is this a new leak
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
I'm pretty sure its the leak from around September. I'm not quite sure how new but it works well. I had problems finding the leak so I thought it would be easier for some people if I post the link here.

[Mod]Full Screen Caller I.D

**Disclaimer - This is not my work. Just sharing it because I tested it on my T889 and it worked**
*USE AT YOUR OWN RISK**
-> You Can Find The Original Thread Here <-]
So I was just browsing through other Note 2 Forums and stumbled on this mod. I was bored so I figured.... ahh what the heck.
So I...
•Downloaded the zip (found in the linked OP)
•Created A Nandroid Backup (recommended but you can do as you wish)
•Flashed the zip via recovery (I'm using TWRP)
•Wiped Dalvik-Cache and Cache
•Reboot
Not sure if this was necessary but I did the following anyway...
•>Application Manager>com.sec.phone and cleared cache
•>Application Manager>Phone.apk and cleared cache
Used my daughters phone to test. Didn't work. I looked at the pic I had set for her. It was a crappy resolution.
So I picked one of the new pics I took of her. Boom! Full Screen Caller I.D
If it makes any difference I'm using 4.3 DN3 Rom (Ditto Note 3 Rom) from the ATT Roms Section.

Thanks I was tired of using a app for full screen. Question: you say you are running "Ditto Note 3 Rom for at&t. I am wondering did you lose any features with the rom since it was not designed to work with the t-mobile version?
