also the power
wheni remove battery and re insert ==>(only Power button) i get stuck at the HTC logo..... nothing happens next
re remove the battery and re insert it ===> (power + Volume Dwn) got to the HBOOT menu and get stuck there also
at the Hboot menu it says

Calm down, your phone is not bricked as you're still able to enter HBoot, I sadly don't know how you fix this, but I'm sure It can be fixed.
Just wait till one of the senior members respond
---------- Post added at 11:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:40 PM ----------
I did a little search on the website and i found this link, (there are several other post relating to your problem)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386387&highlight=stuck+ace+kit
I found this part especially useful:
Basicly you use the ability of Hboot to recognise PD98IMG. zip, which would allow you to flash a standard HTC rom so you could have a new OS on your phone, than you would able to use the ACE kit again
Firstly, as long as you have a working bootloader, your phone isn't bricked and can be recovered.
Well it seems you are Radio S-Off (Ship S-Off), but you also need Eng S-Off to flash a recovery from the command line using fastboot.exe. I'm pretty sure danward's Android Flasher uses fastboot, so I'm not surprised it didn't work.
What to do next depends on whether you can get access to your sdcard from your PC. If you can - with a card reader in the PC, or another phone to put the card in and connect via USB - then go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
Download the stock 1.32 PD98IMG.zip ROM from Section 1 and put it on the root of your SD card. Then put the card back in your DHD, and reboot into the bootloader.
It should recognise the PD98IMG.zip file and ask if you want to flash it, press Volume Up to confirm. This will put the stock 1.32.405.6 HTC ROM on your phone - this is an early shipped HTC firmware and it's the easiest version to root.
Edit: Note this file and the RUU below are for a Desire HD, and I don't think they will work on an Inspire - see later in the thread for some links to Inspire files.
Once it's flashed, it will replace everything - ROM, Recovery, radio - with the stock versions so you'll need to use the hack kit again, but you should still have Radio S-Off. Also remove the PD98IMG.zip file from your SD card when done, otherwise each time you go into the bootloader it will ask if you want to flash it.
If for any reason you can't get the PD98IMG.zip onto your SD card, you could try running an RUU (Rom Update Utility), this is the official HTC firmware in an EXE file you run from your PC. Plug your phone in via the USB cable and run the RUU file. You can find them here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3#post19101263
The 1.32 version isn't there, so I would go for the next oldest WWE version (WWE = world wide edition, i.e. not carrier-branded)
RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.72.405.3_R_Radio_12.28e.60.140f_ 26.04.02.17_M2_release_161342_signed.exe
If that runs, it will do the same as the PD98IMG.zip, i.e. put your phone back to stock HTC firmware, but once again you will retain Radio S-Off.
I don't know much about the Ace Hack Kit as I rooted my phone before it came out, but I'm pretty sure that it will root either of those two versions of the stock firmware just fine. Good luck!

Put the PD98IMG from the aahk (the name must be PD98IMG not Pd98IMG.zip) on the root of your SD card (not in any folder)
Remove the battery wait 30 seconds>put the battery back in the phone hold volume down + power butten > you see a white screen wait for the question and chose yes (vol up I think)
Good luck (a trick for you. If you have a schipped phone with gingerbread don't use de eng-s off option in aahk)

You are wrong....the ENG HBOOT in the Hack Kit is modified to work with all versions of Ace devices (DHD / Inspire) because is a pseudo ENG S-OFF. What u can not use is the tradicional ENG S-OFF nor a Froyo RUU in GB shipped devices...that is detailed in the manual and in the Hack Kit site....

i have fixed it
first of all i want to thank you guys for helping me out
it seems when ever i start the HBOOT it get stuck
after hundred times of trying
i did try to launch the HBOOT without the SD card
so no PD98IMG will be found to launch it
i entered and it was working (i can toggle between menus but im stuck here no rom to launch still)
and it seems when my mobile first start to praise the PD98IMG.zip when downgrading began
it rebooted and broke the installation (not sure though)
thought it could be some bad ver or something of the PD98IMG so
i tried downloading the PD98IMG.zip else where
from the link provided by you guys
didnt work
same thing
so i thought why not change the SD card and put the PD98IMG.zip and re launch the HBOOT
AND IT WORKED JUST FINE
started flashing >>praising >>>>perfect
but why didnt it work on the old SD card dont know
its the card that came with the mobile
anyhow my problem was resolved and thnx to all
im now on the Vortuous Rom Affinity

Sometimes the SD Card can cause problems, glad you fixed it though
Sent from my Desire HD with BlackIce.
Thanks don't hurt ya know?!

oke thank i know it now

I dont know if it fixxed already, but i had the same problem, the problem is your sd card isn't been made a proper GOLDCARD.
If you remove the sd card, it will work, try hooking up the sdcard to a computer and use GOLDCARDTOOL and then try it again.
Then i should work.

If you flashed a good ROM and your stuck in hboot, use fastboot and use the following command 'fastboot oem boot' that will force your phone to boot.

Firstly, I'd recommend using unrevoked to root the phone. The way you are using is old and complicated.
Secondly, i imagine that your hboot is not 0.8 which means you'll need to downgrade.
It might be http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=750852 that you need to read and follow, although I'm not sure.
It would help if you knew what hboot you were.

The RUU itself can't put into bootloader?
If you want to try unrevoked, this is the post you need:
Q. My screen goes blank when I use custom recovery with unrevoked3.
A. You have an SLCD display and will need to use an updated recovery image until unrevoked3 itself is updated. It is safe to use this updated image on AMOLED screens too. You can download the image here: http://crop.floodbit.org/~defer/recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.1-bravo-slcd.img
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=749551 - has everything about slcd rtc
The main problem is my screen is black and I cant see anything although windows is still detecting device
Instead of the RUU, try giving unrevoked a whirl with that custom recovery image (make sure phone is unplugged whilst started unrevoked). Also, follow the instructions from unrevoked about installing the htc drivers (unless you have already installed the latest htc drivers).
Battery pull, then turn on whilst holding volume down. Hopefully this will give you bootloader and unrevoked should be able to do its magic (if you select that custom recovery image)
This will give you root.

1. Choose desire then download.
2. Follow instructions in hboot driver.html (to make sure your phone is recognised correctly)
3. Run reflash.exe

5. Download and select http://crop.floodbit.org/~defer/recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.1-bravo-slcd.img
6. Plug in desire - hopefully you have USB debugging enabled. If not, I think you can achieve root by loading bootloader yourself (battery pull device and then vol down + power)

I done everything but still dont understand what to do with this recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.1-bravo-slcd.img
the drivers were installed correctly and my computer can see my device,
But still no luck I think I'm missing something I cant see anything on my screen, I know the device alive as I can hear the atrt up sound and compuer now detect in device manager
This is what hapens when I try to attempt flashing with official ruu
Ok unplug the desire from the pc then battery pull and then hold volume-down (on left hand side of the phone) and then press power (whilst holding volume-down). Then plug in and run the RUU again.
With that recovery-clockwork-2.5.0.1-bravo-slcd.img, you select it in unrevoked by pressing ctrl + r (on windows) and then just connect your desire.
Do the RUU first

If u have S-OFF but no root permission, just run an RUU and then root again with unrevoked.

I'm not too sure why some come factory s-off, but considering it is, have you tested to see if fastboot works? If it does, all you need to do, is download a recovery image (I use RA-Desire) put the phone in fastboot mode and run "fastboot flash recovery INSERT FILENAME". Assuming that works, you can just install a custom rom with root included. Unfortunately this is all just theory as my phone was s-on when I got it. So do anything at your own risk
Edit: just another thought. Because you are s-off, it might be possible to go into the default recovery/bootloader and use "adb pull /" to pull a complete copy of your system etc (as a backup), and then use "adb push ROMFOLDER /" to install a custom rom, although if the rom normally runs scripts while flashing as a zip, this might not be possible unless someone sends you a copy from their already installed phone, same as before, do at your own risk because I have no idea if it would work

Well i believe so. The phone i m talking about was destined to be a demo in a store (sth vodafone)(it came in a plain white box with just the charger inside, when i tried to download htc sync from htc it could not recognise the imei and it had a demo video that appeared every 2 minutes) Actually i'm not sure, because i first noticed the s-off after a failed attempt with unrevoked(before i did not notice if it was on or off). The phone is generally untouched, as i got it brand new(na'nai kala h mana pou douleuei sti vodafone). bEFORE attempt rooting, i had updated OTA to 2.2 froyo(wwe unbranded). @cr1960 i have not that version. My current spes are:
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT 0.93.0001
RADIO 5.11.05.27
*ROM: 2.2 OTA official htc update v.2.29.405.2
@w.0.o.t: how to ruu? is it safe? do i lose settings or data?
@NeoDriver: how do I test fastboot?
Thanks for the quick responses!
[edit] i have found another guy with s-off that he couldnt root with unrevoked(same error), but he was on stock 2.1 with 0.7 hboot
There's nothing above the S-OFF part when in HBOOT which is in pink at all no?
Quick question, when you go to the bootloader, does it display "ALPHAREV" at the top? It's just that your HBOOT (v0.93.0001) with S-OFF, is what the alpharev s-off gives.
Either way, to test fastboot, power off your phone and plug it into your USB. Hold the BACK button on the front of your phone and power it on, let go once you are in fastboot. You should be shown a white screen very similar to the bootloader but it should say FASTBOOT USB. In the tools folder of the Android SDK is fastboot. Open a cmd prompt, cd to the tools directory and run "fastboot devices". Your device should be there. Next thing to do would be "fastboot flash recovery FILENAME"
Im just not too sure if these fastboot commands are only active in AlphaRev's images =/
Oh and running an RUU is perfectly safe but as far as I know, it is a complete wipe of everything!
Hope this helps
when in bootlader i see:

you literally just need to type fastboot, thats it, it should then give you a list of stuff. use fastboot devices to make sure your phone is being seen by it.

You don't run the files in the folders, you use a command prompt to run the fastboot commands
still cant find AdbWinApi.dll, trying to re install sdk...
[edit] reinstalled and retried but it still cant find the dll. somewhere i read that i should install htc sync, will that do ?
Run SDK Manager.exe and download "Android SDK tools". I forgot it doesnt come with everything nowadays.
Ok, after just updating my SDK, it seems like google has moved the dll you need. Copy the fastboot.exe from /tools to /platform-tools then run it from that folder =) Thats should make it work

Well, here we go again. how? someone gave me these instructions, but im not sure:
Download any rooted ROM you like and place on SD.
If you want a ROM with A2SD+, then partition SD properly before copying ROM.zip
Download AmonRA 2.0.1 http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4481275/reco...ire-v2.0.1.img
Flash it with Android Flasher http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794638
Boot device into recovery and flash the ROM.zip from the SD.
I also found a guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814381
which also has a solution to the cid error i get, but is the risk worth taking?
Anyway got some general questions:
1) to flash a rom you need to be root or root is only for pre-rooted roms?
2)i see custom recovery everywhere but no explanation on "what is it", "what does it do"
3)is there a way to backup email and sms from the htc mail apps?
4)will a factory reset delete anything on my sd card?
Guys im really sorry to post such n00b questions(i hate being n00b). please excuse me

[Q] Water Damaged Desire, screen flicking [SOLVED]

Hi, Im trying to fix my Desire after getting water damaged, I have spent some time disassembling and drying out, so know that all is dry, when I turn it on My O2 screen flashes on then dies out and restarts, staying in this loop. I can get into the hboot menu. so Im looking for help restoring my stock hboot?? I think?
The phone hasnt had any custom images loaded to my knowledge, so i dont think it will be rooted or ready to load custom images.
Anyway my phone details are:
BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0001
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.11.05.27
will it be as easy as finding the hboot and copying to my sd?
much appreciated.
EDIT: NOW SOLVED - Thread Summary:
Alot of useless information in this thread regarding my ACTUAL problem but still some good info on creating Goldcards. After completely drying phone out after getting wet, I reassembled and tried it out, and it just flicked the O2 screen up and restarted, after trying everything below I then found out I needed a new battery, thats all! lol, so this is incase someone else has a phone that acts like mine did after water damage, I have a link to a youtube vid of what my phone was doing.
Thanks to all who helped me get problem resolved, my phone is back!
Can you get to the fastboot?
If so try running "fastboot devices" is your phone recognized?
Edit:
Ah you're S-ON, then go to fastboot, try downloading appropriate RUU for your device and run it.
See what happens. (you might need gold card if you are branded)
I guess you cant get to the recovery?
You could have not changed your hboot if you are s-on. So there is not hboot which needs to be restored. If you are would be really damaged, you would not be able to power on your desire at all. The hboot is the absolute basis of an android phone (like bios for computer). If this gets damaged, your phone is totally bricked and not more than an expensive paperweight.
When you are able to access fastboot (start phone with pressed back and power button or boot into hboot>choose fastboot with volume buttons>enter with power button), you could flash a ruu. To find out which is the right one, you need to tell us wether your phone was branded or not and when it was branded, which provider you have.
Hi thanks for replies, I understand I dont need to replace my hboot as i can get into thue menu and i can get into fastboot menu aswell. Its branded O2 so where can I find an RUU thats suitable?
If you cant get into fastboot menu, you are pretty much screwed because RUU wont detect your phone.

Download this ruu, put your phone into fastboot mode, run the exe and follow the instructions on the screen.
ok i have downloaded that ruu, but its not detecting my phone. when i first turn phone on with vol- held i get hboot menu. one of the options is fastboot (already selected) i select that by pressing power button, then my menu changes to fast boot. then my options are: bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader, power down. i left it at this menu while i ran the RUU, is this correct? also do I need to install any other software on pc? I have installed the HBOOT USB driver earlier while I was looking about, does this need removing? also my hboot menu when first run looks through files on my sd card, should i copy the ruu file to sd?

Yes, not touching the menu is correct.
No, you do not need to install any other software on your pc.
No, you do not need to remove the hboot usb driver.
No, don't copy the ruu to sd. I recommend to save important data on sd card (just in case). Just run the ruu on your computer.
I get USB Connection Error while phone displays fastboot usb, any ideas?
Shall I try a GoldCard?

Installed hboot drivers correctly:
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/windows_hboot_driver_install
Furthermore, check if you have only htc sync drivers installed.
The goldcard can only avoid the cid error, and has nothing to do with the usb connection.
When u use Unrevoked remove HTC connectivity from ur computer...
And u can use FastbootCommanderV.1.5 to patch HBOOT...
ok getting somewhere USb drivers must be screwed on my lappy, i installed on another machine and using fastboot commander I could connect in fastboot mode and got my phone details up, I then tried the RUU that you gave me a link to earlier and it successfully connected and attempted the update, although after about 2 mins it says that its the wrong version ruu. current version is: 2.14.207.3, one contained in RUU is 2.14.207.1 So what should I do now?
wow what crappy luck, you seem to have a new version so it won't let you downgrade.. bump from my end :/

No it will not. A goldcard can only help you, if you want to flash a stock ruu although you have a branded phone. When you do not have a goldcard in this situation, you get a cid error.

yeah so if he had a goldcard, he'd be able to flash a WWE RUU and be out of this sticky situation..
so will it be safe to flash a wwe over my stock o2?

Yes and no. For the case, he wants the stock ruu, you are right. But he wants to use his warranty, so needs the ruu of this provider. But the ruu he wants flash is older than the one he is running now. So he cannot flash the the ruu. And this problem cannot be avoided by using a goldcard, because the hboot version has nothing to do with the cid number.
On this way I at least understand the matter. Correct me, if I am wrong.

[Q] HTC Desire HD -- You might say "not this again" but please help...

First thank you for checking this thread.
The problem is, i tried to root my HTC Desire HD and something went wrong.
Believe me I have read a lot on forums but nothing seems to help me out. r maybe im just too noob on this.
1. Phone wont start anymore, im just
2. Stuck on Triangle thing when doing recovery,
3. or i get stuck on HTC logo only.
I tried adding the the PD98IMG.zip file to the sd card root using a sd adapter and error says no image or wrong image when i select fastboot back to HTC DHD. DHD wont start, again i'm stuck to that red triangle image or sometime just the HTC logo. I have three sd cards tried all of them and still nothing. all were formatted. My stock image file is i think lost and no backup was made. Anyone, please help...
Note: sd cards are all clean and nothing on them, and my phone is NOT rooted.

Your phone won't start because you have nothing on it. No rom that is. Try flashing a new stock rom via RUU
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
1. Choose and download an RUU from here : http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Ace (WWE means world-wide edition)
2. Connect your phone via USB. Switch it on.
3. Run the downloaded RUU.exe on the system
Your phone will be restored to factory settings and everything will be wiped.
Try rooting using Advanced Ace Hack Kit the next time you root. Read the instructions carefully and follow each step as stated. You should be good.
still no luck, i tried each and every one of them. downloaded and paste them on sd card one by one. when i do an hboot it says no image. when i just power on, its stuck on htc logo.
Those ruu you simply can't rename pd98 and flash. You have to take out the rom from them.
When in hboot select fastboot and try running the ruu from your pc
Is your phone branded?
I'm actually working on a guide tutorial of this issue right now. You said you tried a pd98 before which one? I looked at your other post in the other thread. If you used the one that gizmoe or I linked to there it wont work as your son and those were for the inspire.
Here is a gb pd98 for the dhd. Based on your radio version you should have an unbranded model and hopefully this works for you
http://www.multiupload.com/67WOK1U9AO
sorry im really new to this thing, i thought i just paste them on sd card.
This is what I've done. I went to hboot and selected fastboot, I run the .exe ruu file i downloaded which tells me to connect my phone, turn it on but error pops up, it says it cant read the phone, (error is: usb not attached) and of course it is attached.
I believe it is branded, i'm in United Arab Emirates, in Dubai. And it came from Etisalat (the Network provider)
ok im downloading the gb pd98 for the dhd.... then should i paste it on sd?
By any chance do you know what software version it was? Maybe that will help in locking the correct ruu to find
Edit-yes just paste it. Though if it is branded it wont work. Need to find the correct one
when you say software version, do you mean gingerbread 2.3.3? before everything went wrong i saw that i have 2.3.3 if that is what you mean.
now i paste the .zip file i downloaded and still the same thing. "no image or wrong image" when i do fastboot.
does that mean its branded?
Yeah I think your phone is branded.
Each ruu has a specific version number different than the android version.
For example I have an inspire 4g. The version number is 2.47.xxx.x but I have android version 2.3.3. The ruu version would help us find if possible your specific carriers ruu.
that is the big prob now, i dont know how to find the specific carriers ruu. do you think it will help if i put an sd card of the same network carrier and same phone model? just to flash the rom from that sd card?
I don't think that will work. Only thing I can think of is if you can get a hold of of another dhd same as your to look at the software version in about phone. Maybe that might help you find that ruu online if it exists. Not all ruu are released and or leaked bit worth a look. If not maybe try using your warranty if possible
Without the ruu I'm pretty much out of ideas to try with branded devices. Maybe somebody smarter than me will come by and have a better result than me.
It's getting late where I'm at 1am. But ill try and check in later today
i will try to find same phone then, will let you know also.
if you come up with some kind of solution on this in future, please let me know. thanks!

Why don't just do the USB RUU process?
He stated earlier that he did but it was not detecting his phone.
The issue is, if I'm not mistaken, is that even if his phone detected the ruu won't work as he is branded. For example if I have a branded att dhd I can't run any other ruu(wwe)as its not signed for my device.--if he was soff then it would be a non issue--

I'm curious into your experience. All you simply did was flash a different ruu? Did you have soff? The only think I can think of maybe a goldcard being involved
@mincedrock maybe you can try that. Make your SD card into a goldcard and then trying to flash a ruu

No nothing like that! However , phones in the US are extremely much more controlled by the carriers than in Sweden. It maybe has to do something with that
mine is S-On, phone is branded and when i flash an ruu, all it say is no image or wrong image.
@ABorgh : phone here in Dubai are extremely controlled by the carrier as well, imagine even the face-time for iPhone is not working they removed it (for branded), its an Arab country that's why.
@marsdta : i will read post about making a gold card, do i need my phone to do this or a card reader will do the trick? as u know my phone wont even turn on.

[Q] Attempting to flash shipped ROM onto a Desire Z (Vodafone NL)

I need an Obi-wan here. I'm a noob -- though I've gotten a solid four day education
hacking at this problem.
My wife's Android Desire Z - Stock ROM, S-ON, got stuck looping with a failed
android.process.acore message and after trying a cache clear that didn't help
I set out to factory reset it. Figured the nuclear option would be dead simple. Nope.
Factory Reset from the Hboot menu simply froze the phone
at the HTC menu for an hour. Not good.
From there dozens of resets and reboots and fastboots would sometimes successfully boot
to my wife's setup (so nothing was reset at all), only to get stuck in the acore loop again.
I was once quick enough to put it into
airplane mode and that stopped the error message loops. YAY! I could try a reset
via software! But when I attempted
Settings > SD & phone storage > Factory data reset it rebooted to HTC screen, Vodafone
screen, HTC screen, vodafone screen. ANOTHER loop.
OK, next try was to flash the ROM with an original shipped version.
Couple forums in Dutch said the shipped ROM for the Vodafone Desire z in NL was Bravo/Froyo World Wide English
so I located this file:
RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_
signed.exe
and attempted reset by running that on a pc.
But the USB connection failed after the unit reset: Error 171, Error 170.
Tried installing HTC Sync AND the Universal boot drivers
and the Android Booloader Driver, as per the helpful advice from Bob Denny at Phandroid. (As a noob, I can't post links here, sorry)
And yep, I disabled anti-virus, had a fully charged phone (I'm hoping you get
the picture here -- I've done my due dilligence and googling before asking for help.) but
nada. RUU rebooted the phone, waited for the bootoader, and either the phone never pings the USB
port to say it's there or the PC doesn't see it.
FINE. I can put a PC10IMG.ZIP on the SD card and dispense with the frustration of messing with windows, right? Well, no.
I extracted ROM.ZIP from the RUU renamed it PC10IMG.ZIP and slapped it in the root
directory of the SD card. I booted to Hboot with the volume down and power buttons, chose
Fastboot and watched the the Zip load (blue verticle progress bar upper right of screen),
check it (brown progress bar upper right), then NOTHING -- back to the Hboot menu.
No error message, and no invitation to
update. Reboot takes me back to screen loop. Normal power-on does the same.
Further searches make me question if this is the right shipped ROM.
The RUU reports that I'm running version 2.42.161.22
(of what? Vision Gingerbread?) and the Bravo/Froyo WWE Rom reported itself to be version 1.59 something.
As this is an S-ON phone, I know I can't roll back to earlier ROMS, and can only install
the exact version as shipped.
So the questions I THINK I need answered:
1. Does anyone know for certain, or know where I can find out, which ROM
shipped with the Vodafone NL Desire-Z in 2010? I can get Kernel source for it at the HTCDev site,
but I see no compiled ROM there -- anything I can do with kernel source?
2. Anyone know where can I get the right PC10IMG.ZIP file to flash the unit from the SD Card? (I tried Shipped-Roms.com and
dozens of google permutations)
3. Is my methodology for flashing the SD Card right or is there anything in the
description above that lends anyone to believe my problem or solution is anything
other than the one I'm obsessing over?
Any help deeply appreciated.

Try again with the PC10IMG.zip, this time don't extract the rom image, flash the entire zip. If this doesn't work you may need to make a goldcard. This means you will need to boot the phone and get into setting to turn debugging on and will will also need to get the proper window drivers up and running in order to use adb. (Try holding the s key on the key pad while powering on, this may keep the bootloop away)

Yeah, sorry wasn't clear I extracted the zip from the RUU, not the rom itself, so I've tried this one already.
Safe boot doesn't boot -- gets me the HTC screen and freezes there. I'll keep trying, as I think gettting debugging on and going gold card may be my only hope if the problem isn't incorrect ROM (or if there's no finding the correct one).
Here's a simpler question: If in my hboot screen I see
VISION PVT SHIP S-ON
Does that mean the shipped ROM was vision gingerbread and that's the only one to try,
or could my wife's "system updates" upgraded the phone from a Bravo shipped ROM?
And when I get a CID Incorrect error on a Vision Gingerbread ROM, does that mean the WWE Vision Gingerbread ROM I tried to install isn't good because it's not Vodafone, or because it's not the shipped ROM?
Any help will be thankfully appreciated!
Sorry it took so long to get back,
ship s-on is referring to you have a shipped bootloader and your security flags are on, that line is not specific to any version of the desire z
You won't be able to flash any ROM like that unless it is an upgrade from current version. I believe if you go to HTC website the latest ruu was not released as an ota and may work for you as its probably newer. If it doesn't work then you will need to get super cid in order to flash something older, which means you need to get adb working
