Report urgent/non urgent?[SOLVED] - About xda-developers.com

I've just reported a post as urgent and this leads me onto to this question.
What exactly classifies as urgent and is there a quicker response time?
I know that the majority of the time we'll only need non-urgent, but it just got me wondering is all

I would say Non-Urgent is probably something along the lines of mild flaming or the like, double posts or multiple threads, general house-cleaning.
Urgent to me would be Warez (before too many people download it), threats of violence, Virus/Malware posts (if there is such).
Good question though. Where is the line priority between U/NU?

That's what I'd think, but it must be more so than those because they already have sections for them.

When did the report feature stop showing for you? Because it left mine a couple months back, if I remember correctly, because it was causing issues with the servers.
But apparently version 2.2.5 of the Tapatalk app has got the report feature still there.

It was gone for a few weeks, and then it showed up again i think the day before yesterday. I thought it was gonna stay but i wanted to report something and found it's gone (again). I mostly use the app as my internet is so slow, so i guess it affects me more than the other users.
Edit: i'm having issues with play store downloads so i'm not sure if i'm updated, at least when it comes to the xda app.

At least you had it there for so long anyway lol.
It probably would've disappeared because of the updates to the server since Monday. That's why there's been quite a few problems around the app since then.

Urgent is for serious violations, like arguing, flaming, warez, disruptive or threatening behavior.
Non Urgent is for things like misposting, off-topic dialog, thread maintenance, etc.

The report feature was removed from the XDA Mobile app. You can still report posts using web view option.

Free Speech Hahah

Wow XDA has really become lame....This forum you cant even talk in a thread that you want without MODS locking threads and deleting post.....just WOW. Worse than the Epic4g forums. My 2 cents. Lets see if this gets deleted.

Free speech means absolutely nothing on a privately owned internet message board. Maybe you should review the xda guidelines and figure out what you are doing wrong. Xda is a huge forum, and I'd bet that mods have much better things to do than pick on random people for no reason at all, especially on a holiday weekend.

that thread never should have been in Development anyways...that was, and STILL is a WIP..
Maybe the mods should have a section for WIP, or, only allow recognized devs to post/see it?
Once a product is actually ready for consumption, it should be posted "in public"..
Not sure if this is do able, but it would make things a lot easier for people who actually develop, and, reduce the number of newbies who screw up their phones, because they just flash anything they see here..

You didn't get me. Stickies are those threads which are important to a particular forum, so they are kept at the top among threads. The page where you found this thread - About xda-developers.com - didn't you see a thread among the top ones titled "XDA Android App..."?
You don't need to search for a stickied thread.

How do we make a complaint to mods.

I was wondering if the is a way to report a user to the mods for harsh and abrasive responses which seem for the sole purpose of belittling and insulting xda users. There is a user that seems to do only that and not help the person posing the question. It is starting to get ridiculous. I thought xda did not condone this behavior.

You guys know that we can't action anything that we don't know about, right?
OP, in the other thread you mentioned that you lost faith in XDA and the Mods, well we can't fix what we don't know is broke. How about 1 report versus 10 flaming posts? There are 5 of us who handle all the SGS3 variants, so our response time is very quick. If the user has broken rules, then action will be taken. If not, most likely we will post in the thread to throttle it back or plainly to just quit it.
Maybe everyone should look in my signature at the link to needing a Mod and how the report button works.
Example would be the random question in the Dev section. Instead of 15 posts about "wrong section", why not report it with the "Thread moving/maintenance" dropdown.

Huh?

Why are the devs here such amateurs? Use a real bug tracking, reporting and release system. Using the forums for this stuff is a joke. You may be talented but you know ZERO about developing software. You might hack well, but it won't serve you.well in the long run.

Btw if you have issue with any of the devs feel free to pm them....

I agree with Lloir, if you have an issue with a developer or if you indeed want to educate them on "modern" tools then PMing them is the way to go!
Opening up a thread like this will get you no where! It will only piss people off and in the end, you waste your time and possible face going on a little vacation aka banned for a week or so
Oh and btw, not all developers leech off their parents or their governments! In fact, I've actually given back to my country by serving 9 years in the military and don't collect any check or whatever from the government. I own my house, have two cars, beautiful family and do very good for myself.....don't stereotype bro!!

Seriously, show me some "dev" here that is not sucking on their parents or the government's teet and I'll be impressed.

Hey dumbass, I am 15 and manage a pizza place. I don't think I'm "sucking on my parents". Get out of here.

Wow..if I could say what I'd like to say without getting banned on here I would. Get out of here with this post man.
Do something yourself before you complain..and if they are living with their parents ..who cares..not everyone on these forums are kids or adults living off of govt money..I for one work..just bought a house and I'm engaged to a hot piece .get over yourself kid

reported.
and just for the record, i like to keep my bugs and all the chit-chat in my rom thread just so i can talk to the user that has issues so we can resolve them in no time. not all the bugs that will go into a bug tracker are bugs - because not everyone knows to full wipe and install a rom on a fresh phone.
oh and yeah, i worked with at least 5 bug trackers in my life (i'm in QA business) and sometimes they are useless. not everyone can write a bug that will be understandable by the dev.

20 years of being a professional software developer have told me one thing
if you pay me using a bug tracker I will use it
else SHUT-UP!!!

This thread is the reason I believe some devs here can be mean so often. No one appreciates what they do... That's harsh man. That's harsh..

Seriously? Read the posts. How much time do the devs spend responding to the SAME request over and over. Most of it is due to the tool. Using a forum post(s) to track software that is used by possibly hundreds/thousands of people is not smart. It is what I will say again, amateurish. That is not a knock on their ability. It is a call to maybe understand that there are better ways. You think CM works on forum posts? Google ? I've done open source projects with 1000x the users here. The level of animosity from the devs and the users is unbelievable. Most of it I think stems from poor communication and structure.
There are better ways.
There are easier ways.
It seems that many of the devs are kids. Show them a better way when they are young and help them for life. Allow and encourage bad habits and no one wins.

Seriously, why the **** don't you get lost and stop pissing off everyone here? Why do you have so many problems and why do you seem so concerned about the way things work around here ?
Get lost and shut up you bozo

you've obviously not been around the block in the world of android then....CM is still maintained via forum posts BY Cyanogen himself on XDA, always has been since G1.
Quite honestly you are a complete idiot...if you don't like how we do things, tough luck, your issue not our's. threads like this are pointless and not needed...
edit:
i know they have the issue tracker also http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=104370139 that's Steve Kondik's profile go knock yourself out and read the CM3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10 threads

ROM contains banking trojan called Zitmo. Here's screenshot of Malwarebytes scan http://i.imgur.com/NWLVeN4.png
I know it's hard to tell from the screenshot but nothing is preventing you to install Malwarebytes and confirm it yourself!

Already have, thid is just a warning so everyone using it will see.

I've reported his thread to admins, they are investigating it still. I got confirmations from other members that they detect trojans. WTF is going on, are we going to ignore this? Even ROM builder confirmed it and said it's "normal'. Am I going crazy here?!
"In the background, it listens to all incoming SMS messages and forwards them to a remote web server. It’s simple, but just enough for the ZeuS gang to grab your banking mTANs…"
It is so hard to trust people these days...

I also tried to reinstall the rom, just to check I didnt do anything wrong on my side.
The ROM definitley contains a trojan.

Just one simple question. Does this problem also exists in 4.7 or is it just 4.6?

THX i wasn't using this Rom anyway. I was just a little bit confused 'cause i never thought a dev would do that.

this is the worst news i ever heard, i just installed this rom yesterday and i really loved it .. it is very smooth and the best rom i ever used from 10 roms until now, i can't believe that in day that i found something good like this rom, the rom having virus!! what a chance! can any one report this to the dev ?!?
I've reported thread and got comfirmation of XDA mods that they are investigating, but that was a month ago. I don't understand what is going on.
Sent from my LT26i using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Ok, so no response from the mods whatsoever. This can mean two things, either mod ia extremely lazy person who doesn't give a **** or mod is somehow benefiting from this rom. Either way, we urgently need to ecalate this to higher mods. It is not normal to have trojan in ROM. Does anyone know mods from whole XDA, not just xperia onea?
Sent from my LT26i using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Just stay away from stock-based ROMs that don't add anything of value and include apps that you could install yourself. I think the creator of that ROM isn't even aware of the Trojan but is just throwing some files in his ROM that are actually bloat. Just use stock, maybe a deodexed version, and with root access you can include any mod you want. Or use a more trustworthy stock-based ROM, like eXistenZ.
I don't want to personally attack this guy, but come on take a look at the OP of that ROM. The PayPal link is huge, so he's already fishing for donations. There are a lot of exaggerations in the first lines already (the word "very" is used 6 times in one line). And whenever someone calls his product "simply the best than ever" you should know that it isn't. Those are just big words.
So yeah you could report the thread.. Or you could use your common sense and avoid it.

I think what the op has done (report it/warn other users) is spot on.
I mean how are people, especially newcomers, to know what to avoid if other members of the community aren't looking out for each other?
Flashing ROMs, apps, mods etc on rooted/Xposed framework vulnerable devices is dodgy enough, but if xda members spot exploits and just ignore/avoid them? Wtf?

I meant no offense to the OP of this thread, I was just avoiding to use name of the author of the LeopardX ROM. He's right to report this and I'm just saying that people should stay away from ROMs like this.

First I thought this was a false alarm but upon reading all the posts, I guess I'll flash a new ROM for the time being.
