well most of the peoples already know that what i m talking about
4th--- this feature is available in samsung galaxy S3 and my current using Htc HD7 this is called TURNOVER feature and man this is the awesome feature that i used in my phone it would be awesome to see in our Gnex
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NoyXRO60Ms
5th--- Direct Call -- this is Samsung Galaxy S3 exclusive feature and this is also very convenient
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyTKD-x-TGU
6th ---- Beats Audio--- Or loud sound
i m seeing that with the max volume there is a very low sound and i have to use my old S1 as a primary phone so that would be awesome to if we can get some loud sound and some good sound when listening to music on my dre
7th--- this is the exclusive feature for iphone 4/4S as far as i know this is flash alerts for incoming call or sms or something so the reason for this is that for some reasons you lost your gnex some where in the house and its silent so you want to find it jsut dark the room and call it and you will find your phone soon enough [happens to me alot of time with my 4S and S1 ]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ew0ADrjZBvg
soo these are the simple yet very usefull features for our Gnex that will make our experience even better and devs if you are able to make a CWM .zip file or an entire new rom .... i m cool with it and i m very sure that the devs will surely help us out
yeah and for some peoples thinking that you should get S3 for these 4th and 5th features well my brothers i used it for a week and for some reason i didnt like it dont know but i was not satisfied so i sold it and got this one
ThankYou to All:good:

Most of the features you suggested are already available with apps or custom roms. You have good intentions to suggest them, but that is what's great about Android is that it allow choices and people to contribute ideas.
1. Different themes can change the way the dialer look, if you are using CyanogenMod or AOKP roms, you can install CM9 / CM10 themes.
2. CM9 and AOKP roms have the feature to customize the NavBar, more than just adding the Menu key alone. It will be available for CM10 and AOKP Jelly Bean.
3. AOKP rom allows Sense and WebOS recent Apps look. I am sure once AOKP Jelly Bean version is released it will become available.
4. I don't use the turn over feature, but all its doing is utilizing the proximity sensor so I am absolutely sure someone else will know the right app or rom that allow this feature.
5. Direct Call is a good idea, which utilize the proximity sensor, I think Google or someone can implement it.
6. You can try the app Volume+ for louder volume. My way of choosing a phone is if it has Beats Audio logo, I won't buy it, this also holds true when buying headphones.
7. The Nexus is one step ahead, it has LED notification light on the front. The LightFlow app let you customize the front LED. And the Flash Blink app let you notify using the camera LED flash, it should work with the Nexus.

For the "turnover" feature, this can easily be accomplished using the app Tasker, you just have to play around in the settings a bit and it works wonderfully.

thanks fellows i will try and report back .......

STAHP....... still stuck.... well Volume+ works like charm else nothing worked

Still working on it guys. I'm still not posting until I fix the phone FC's. And that isn't looking too hot for me.
This looks nice! I'll try it sometime down the line but seriously keep up the good work!
Any plans on fixing the fc with the music player? Or is there a music player somewhere i can install via root explorer? That will match?

Didn't know there was an update on the android central forum
not sure if it has to do with the music FC but if I try to select a ringtone it will FC , i can't take a screenshot of the FC popup. other wise this rom looks great!
Edit: also, the swipe to dismiss is not working, it will move to the side but either go back or it woll select the thing I'm trying to dismiss
Yeah, why is it now a Sprint optimus? there are actually LESS apps for this now! is there a way to change it back to optimus v or to a sprint phone with more apps?
The pic is what i got when I went to the market on my computer with the same account as my phone, but in the phone settings it does say its the virginmobile one?
i can't set a notification sound. When i goto System Settings > Sound > Notification Ringtone > then click android system to select the sound the phone reboots.
Looks sweet I gotta try it

How well does it run (speed and smoothness) compared to CM7.2 from the various sources posted here?
i really enjoyed this ROM. the only issue i had was that my 3G just randomly stopped working about 3 days after the ROM was installed. i tried toggling data, airplane mode, cdma, everything and it wouldn't work, so i flashed back to IHO.
i do miss it though.

from what ive seen, its ****ing FAST! I had it running for 3 days before I realized I didn't even overclock it yet! very smooth also, some bugs but worth it.
best part has to be the keyboard, I can type about 30% faster, it just works better
rom is super fast compared to iho. i can actually text and listen to music at the same time. Only bugs i've noticed is google music doesn't work, can't set a notification/ringtone sound and when you click on the updater another force close. Im giving it a couple more days tell i flash back to iho, hopefully the notification sound will get fixed so i can stick with this rom

If you use an app like zedge, you can set your ringtone and notifications sounds from within the app and it works just fine.
Has anybody been able to figure out how to be able to swipe a notification away without the pull down menu going away? Kinda annoying to have to pull it down again to swipe each notification.
Liking it alot overall though...fast compared to IHO CM7. Any chance some type of updater app can be implemented similar to the Backside Updater found on the CM7 build? that would be a great feature for this awsome ROM. Thanks for all the hard work
Has anyone else had problems with this rom randomly restarting and freezing?
I love this rom, but it keeps restarting. I installed the updated one.

Paranoid Android Rom interest?

Any interest in having this Rom ported over? I have no clue how to do it but would love to see it ported over as it is and or ported over with AOKP as the base.

Cool. Good to hear. The rom looks great and has everything I want in it except probably based on AOKP would make me happier.
The best part of the rom so far has to be this
20120504v0.4preview: Apps were too small? Problem solved!
First ever Android ROM with Per-App-Density feature, it once and for all solves the problem that was tablet mode. You never, ever have to deal with apps that are too small again since now you can decide how apps, systemapps, framework-elements and even widgets are scaled by defining their native dpi seperately from the system DPI. Its an experimental feature and for now these values are defined in your /system/build.prop - it has drawbacks (maily notifications can look a bit strange), but that will be fixed in time. Warning: Keyboards MUST run in system DPI!
A list of apps and predefined values is included, this should include most of what you need. everything else is blown up to 210 dpi per standard. if you still need apps to be bigger, get a build.prop editor from the market, edit and reboot.
Trebuchet fixes: Folder Name cut-off, landscape name cut-off, divider bars
Please set your Font to "Normal" in the System Settings, you won't need "Huge" anymore and all this does now is provoke overlapping.
Haven't really gotten into the tablet roms much but this one looks SICK!
I'd definitely rock this.
HyDra Rom looks pretty much the same except for some theming and the wallpaper maybe check it out
Yeah u gotta love that dpi per app feature and evidently it is being worked on for the galaxy s2, which I am guessing is the international variant. And I do like the hydra rom. Just not that Mega blue theme. Lol I'm sure I could apply a different theme but I'd prob end up breaking something but hopefully someone will port this to our device. Looks good

just need two things
1. cyanogenmod or any stable aosp rom. aokp does not test their tab related code and you get a whole bunch of broken things that come with it, its not a good base for paranoidandroid. cm works out of the box.
2. a dev whos willing to port paranoidandroid and help us making the hybrid features better.

as far as i can tell its plain tablet mode. paranoid is hybrid mode. we do drop systemUI into tabmode, but do our best to not trash your device by doing so. you'll get stock look on most of your apps, can even decide if bigger or smaller.

th feature we're working on right now is called per-app-layout, you decide if your apps dress in mobile or tab dress, all without reboot:
we forked trebuchet from source and optimized it to run in that mode, its the best possible launcher for tablet mode
hacked a whole bunch of apps that normally crash on you or give you problems: market works 100%, keyboard doesnt stretch, gtalk doesnt stretch, etc. in short, this entire rom is made to support you in that mode because we know it gives you hell normally. in that its very different from tablet mode roms.
Yes the per app dpi is what makes it stand out than just a normal hybrid tablet ui mod. No need to deal with small fonts. No need to select large fonts. So this is not the same as Hydra as some seem to think.

Paranoid Android and ICSorcery are what my girl runs on her Verizon Ynez. They are simply beautiful works. I worry how they would work on the e4gt without kernel source, though.
I've ported this before everything worked except for the keyboard. I know that I'm cooking up something tonight with a fresh start. I'm pretty sure I can get the keyboard to work this time.

[ROM][CyanogenMod9][WIP][THEMED]VanillaBean

Hey guys! Today, I bring to you the ROM that I have been working on for the last few days. This is my first venture into actually editing android, aside from flashing ROMs and the like. Unless you live under a rock, pineapple, cardboard box, or the like, you have most likely heard about Android 4.1, also known as Jellybean!

(Looks yummy, right! I sure think so!)
After reading and watching videos about this new OS, I did get excited, but how would someone like me- A young, ambitious, unskilled developer-wannabe get a brand new OS working on our elderly, AOSP unsupported ARMv6 Optimus V?
The next best thing- something we already have; Android 4.0.4 aka Ice Cream Sandwich!
I spent the next week schmoozing through the internet for files related to 4.1-Apps, Wallpapers, ROMs, anything I can find.
I ended up with this- a half way attempt to get CM9 to look and function a bit like Jellybean! Welcome to Vanillabean! (Vanillabean= A mixture of Ice Cream [Ice Cream Sandwich with Vanilla Ice Cream] and Jellybeans!)
>Included<
>Galaxy Nexus Android 4.1 BootAnimation
>Various Jellybean apps- Updated Gallery, Email, Calculator, Contacts, Market, etc. New apps: Currents, Google Ears, etc.
NOTE- Google Now (The new pretty search) is not included, I couldn't get it to work but I will try to have it by the next update!
>Themed Trebuchet, System UI, and Framework APKs by ANDROIDCUSTOMIZe on XDA-Developers. (I've had trouble decompiling/recompiling ICS's Framework-res.apk myself and could not edit them with as such. Ninjamorph editing sent me into a bootloop, also. As soon as I figure this out I'll add newer lockscreen and such bitmaps AND ill see if I can get the cool new Transition animations from Jellybean!)
>Updated Jellybean fonts
>Jellybean wallpapers! (All 12!)
>Bugs
>Nav bar in Lockscreen has no buttons until unlocked (or until the status bar is pulled down)
>Nav bar sometimes "cramps" screen as it takes up valuable screen real estate. Will try to disable it since we have working hard keys- Unless you guys want me to keep it in.
>Status bar text color is still cyan/blue, not gray. Working on it.
>Possibly more, please note any you find in the comments!!!
>Lockscreen handle when pressed is a bit small
>Have not really edited build.prop. WIll figure out and fix. NEXT UPDATE WILL HAVE AN UPDATED VERSION OF QUATTRIMUS. IF ENOUGH ASK FOR IT, I WILL MAKE AN AOKP VERSION!
Working
>Most things- Camera, Wifi, USB, 3G,
Not working
>Anything in Quattrimus.
Camcorder issues
Native Wifi Tethering, use Barnacle from Play Store
Full HW acceleration.
>Extras
If you want the Jellybean Keyboard with prediction, you can find it in the play store. Jellybean Keyboard!
Thank you to the following people!
Cyanogenmod- Kind of obvious, thanks for CM9!
Google- For Android, and making Android a great, Open Source platform!
tdm- letting me use Quattrimus ICS Beta 1 CM9 as a base!
AndroidCustomize on Xda-developrs- Jellybean Themed SystemUI, Trebuchet, and Framework
Rukin5197- Porting guide, gave me a kick in the rear to maybe get started on some stuff
Many more on the internet for porting JB things to ICS, I'm sorry I cant mention all of you here.
Screenshots in Post 2, Upload link coming as soon as it uploads to mediafire!
Thanks for reading, hope you download and enjoy. PLEASE leave feedback for me and Thumbs up if you enjoyed this!

sick looking ROM
Cannot send/receive texts
I tried this ROM and ran into one problem...I can't send or receive text messages, regular texts not picture messages.
Whenever i tried to send a text i get: Currently can't send your message. it will be sent when the service becomes available.
I am connected to 3G and can browse normally...any ideas what i could be missing?
So far i love this ROM, but the texting issue is keeping me away
You can resize the navbar, you have to decompile the framework-res.apk and the file is somewhere in the values folder I believe, if you want to completely disable it, go to the bools.xml file in the framework-res and look for a line that says something along the lines of hasnavbar or navagationbar and change the "true" value to false

Will Post my 2 cent for the "New Features" Sony gave us with 4.2.2 here.
1. The Lockscreen and its Widgets.
For me absolutely useless and it looks like someone at the Sony Development Center is trying his first Steps. Why we need all these Methods to Enter the Camera?
For somebody who did not mentioned til now, if the Phone is Locked, Longpress Cam-Button will also Access Cam.
But the worst for me is the Look and Feel at all, a Lockscreen like a 2nd useless Desktop where nothing comes together, Terrible, in my Opinion.
The Way Google or CM does it is way better, easy and clean, but what Sony gave us here seems like an Alpha Build of a non Concept Thing.
Do your Homework Sony!
The Dialpad in Lockscreen, hm, in my Opinion the older One way better, so why we need that at this point of the System, where we can only enter Keys and Emergency Calls....don't Know...looks confusing.
2. Taskmanager and Small Apps.
In my Opinion, Beta also, Google mixed with Sony. Sonys Way before was Looking that they have had an Idea what they want to do, Now, it don't look like.
3. Status, Nav and Notification Bar.
The Toogles had have been there from first Build.....to have them now by Stock....very good....Best I've Seen in 4.2.2 from Sony.
The Way Sony goes with every new Build switching the UI, grey...black...half Transparent, Transparent....in my Opinion, give the User the Option to size and colour the Things for himself.
Conclusion:
Like great Philosophy says....to follow a Path you have to know where you want to be at the End. Don't make any Path your Target.
I'am very happy that the People, Developers in this Forum are existent and trying to make our Devices work for us.

"Opening camera by press hold camera key even when the phone is locked" this thing doesn't need a mention this feature is there in all Sony Phones from days of Xperia Arc and Xperia S (using ICS) and lockscreen widgets thing is optional u can just swipe and enter your phone normally like old 4.1.2 So why complain?
Daydream is also a new feature.

[Q] Ringtone and Notification Sounds unlink?

Now that we have S-Off, I have been going over the ROMS that are showing up. I need to know if anyone can point me at a ROM where the Ringtone/Notification sounds have been unlinked. I cannot stand the fact that they are tied together.
Thanks

+1 I am surprised nobody including myself has brought that up yet. It would be fantastic!!
I just realized that they are together and it's really annoying....
I am with you, it is driving me crazy. Basically all the original development roms work, I have tried Vanir (even donated, it works great) and the cm rom. I ran Vanir as my daily driver for about three weeks. The only issue I have with these are (and it may be my imagination) is the sound and camera. With stock you get Beats and I swear it sounds better. You also get the stock camera that has ZOE (which I don't fully appreciate yet but never will if I don't play with it). Also no Blinkfeed (oh, well, darn!) Audio Control from Play store is the only app that I found that will compensate, and it works pretty good. I wish I did not have to use a 3rd party app to make this work. I think it works by tricking the phone, sort of. You select custom ringer and select that level. Notifications and ringtone are still the same but it grabs the call and resets the volume before it rings and then lets it go after it's done. Very clumsy way of explaining but I know it works and allows me to use whatever notification sound I want for individual apps. Most of the other apps out there will over ride these settings and use a default selected tone.
I looked at the Audio Control app and a few others. None of them really did what I want. Like you said.... clumsy approach.
I keep thinking one of the ROMs has to have this feature. The CM 10.1 JB variant for my Droid3 has this, so I am not sure why it does not show up more often. If I was talented enough coder ( and brave enough ) I would build a ROM myself.

Yep, me too. I script a little bit but any of the code that I've fooled with is copy, paste, cross fingers. Like I said above though, Vanir and the CM roms have this feature, but you do have to go into the sound settings and uncheck the box that says link them together. I think all the ASOP based roms are like this. I'm giving Ecliptic (Sense based) a spin right now. If you hold down the home key on this one you get the expanded menu with quick settings, and you can independently manipulate them there, but it does nothing. I hope that at some point this will be picked up and fixed. I've posted a few requests for this feature in the various threads but only one developer came back with a reply and it was basically that he didn't know how. I just don't think there is enough people that notice this and are bothered by it for a developer to look into it. Same thing happened when I needed a kernel with driver support for the Galaxy Tab plus. I was trying to crack WEP for pen testing with the tablet and could not put the nic in promiscuous mode. I finally made my own kernel but only with limited success. Just don't have the talent.
"Ringer & Notification Volume Unlink" module for xposed works though it does not show them unlinked in settings. I have an old Sound Manager app and sure enough, it worked. I can now schedule quiet times for the notification and reduced volume for the ringer and night. WooHoo! Working on Stock Vzw M7_1.10.605.10.

For the sound manager app?
You guys can plan on seeing this in Sense 5.5.
I know that doesn't help at the moment, but it shouldn't be long...
