this is frustrating. I have the newest stock HTC rom rooted (3.29.651.5) and i deleted HtcLockScreen.apk so i could go back to AOSP lock screen. now if i hit menu it unlocks the screen. ive searched a lot and there seem to be fixes for 2.1 but i cant really seem to find a recent fix for 2.2. i went through my framework-res.apk and cant find any xml files that i would need to edit. i also have custom icons and other pngs in my framework res that i dont want to lose by flashing a .zip.
does anyone know what xml (where it is located) that i have to edit to disable menu unlock?
i asked in the cyanogenmod irc rooms and they linked me to http://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_frameworks_base/blob/dc138a8865bd34163cfefd32b1e89c27788e5538/core/res/res/values/config.xml where they told me i had to compile that. im not sure how to, any one have any clues?
Not certain but it seems flipzmode had a method for this or a script maybe.

Exactly what the title says. I'm using the stock camera app and I edited the shortcuts for the timer and such, but once I exit the app they reset. Any ideas?

I have also experienced this a few times. I think its been fixed in the 2.3.6 roms because I havent lost the shortcuts since I updated from 2.3.5.
What version of android is on your T989?
I have 2.3.5 didn't bother updating because it was a lot of work to unroot update and re root so I'm waiting til ics comes out to update.

I've been having the same problem over and over again, no matter what ROM I flash. I'm currently on Darkside Venom 3 and it's still broken. I superwiped and everything.
Stock, rooted DLK3 with 23 toggle mod and Mr. Robinsons Ashman Aroma debloater. If I try to set the location for weather or change the lock screen shortcuts the phone locks up requiring a reboot. Ideas?

Did the phone lock up before you put the modifications on the phone?

I'm unsure about boost mobile compatibility, but you could ask in the thread. If compatible, you'd install the AIO 4.5.
The sound unlink is a separate MOD that unlinks all volume controls to operate independently. Some were experiencing all volumes turning up and down when trying to adjust the volume for just notifications, ringer or system etc...
Edit: tdunham has moved from Sprint to boost mobile recently, so I would think he made it compatible. You could always make a nandroid backup before trying. Open the "spoiler" button from the OP to see everything included in the MOD. It really transforms your phone in a very positive way.

I downloaded GB27.AIO.Mod.Rev4.5.Deodex.zip, put it on external sd card, from cwm chose install zip from sd,
After reboot the only difference I noticed was that the home screen background was black, everything else was the same.
I have been trying to get that longpress back to kill for last couple of days with no success, that was the only reason I rooted the phone.
Yes, you can use this on Boost versions. The AIO does include the back to kill mod, if you've flashed it, it will work. You wouldn't notice any immediate changes as any changes you would need to make using the 3minit app that should now be in your app drawer. You did download the app correct? It's now a separate download, and the link can be found in the OP of the AIO thread.
Also, in the future, please post questions in the Q&A forum. That's why it's there

I just need the name of the zip file I need to download. Can I do it with stock recovery or do I have to have cwm?

The zip is linked above, follow the directions in the op of that thread. And you will need cwm:beer:

Hello
I've got this really annoying issue. I have omnimetal 4.4.2 ROM and zipthemer would not work but I got it to work finally. But I've already used the app softkeyZ to change my soft keys and they won't get overwritten. I'm stuck with these annoying keys and can't change em unless its with the apps selection. I flashed nexus soft keys from zipthemer and in the softkeyZ app when I hit the reload button it earases the keys I have and shows the nexus ones I flashed for a sec and goes back to these so it like knows its their. But these keys won't go away. Is there a way I can either delete my soft keys completely and flash the other ones or flash a zip that resets it like a stock 4.4.2 systemUI.apk file? Any advice would be appreciated.

I have once and it just gets messed up. Its hard to explain like the gapps needed to run ART don't install properly and every 10 seconds my phone or dialer force closes
Actually I went ahead and tried a dirty flash and its working fine but same prob. My lock ring and glow dots work when I change em in zipthemer but the soft keys just won't change :/ I've used the stock KitKat Edify and my ROM file and both don't work to change the keys
