So i recently just flashed my phone with android hd revolution 6.3.1 and i noticed that i can't type with pinyin anymore. the keyboard comes up but when i type nothing comes up. I am able to write out the characters and input them like that but writing is a pain in butt.
I saw on the forum people recommending installing the language from the htc sense settings but my phone had it default so im not sure what to do about it now.
Thanks for the help.
Flash the rom again don't choose CD suite tools.

Hey guys
So I installed swiftkey to try out a new keyboard and I did not like. So I uninstalled it. Bit now I have different keyboard. Its not the original Desire stock one. How do I select the original keyboard?
Thanks all!

Not sure how that's happened or how to change it if the settings "language & keyboard" menu doesn't change it back (sorry), just thought I'd mention that if you didn't like swiftkey, give Ultra keyboard a go. It's fantastic.
My swype beta recently expired, and after searching for alternatives I came across this one. So much better than swype. You can customize practically everything. You can change it's skin too, and all the free skins on the market place for the "better keyboard" also work!
There is a trial period before you pay for it, but trust me it's well worth it.

Thanks. However my country doesn't support paid apps.

try a long press in a txt area and see what pops up.
I installed ultra keyboard anyway and while installing it showed me how to change the keyboard. Back on the stick one now!
Thanks!

Go to www.beta.swype.com and register as a beta user. That's all you need to do.

Swype works fine on Gingerbread, its what I use.
If the Swype APK is pulled from another ROM, it might be the wrong version, and not compatible with GB. Easiest way to get Swype is to just sign up at the Swype beta website like the previous response stated. Then it will send the installer to your phone, which will install Swype, and you will be good to go.
Tanks guys worked great although it took a while for the email to come

I thought Swype came with the wildfire s. To enable it again, go to settings/language and keyboard/Swype/select input method. From there u can get back into Swype.

Swype doesn't come with the WFS. You have to go to their official page and order the beta. It's free, too. And you don't have to do any replacing of any sort, just install the keyboard and go to settings/lang. and keybrd/ and change the input method to Swype (goes for any other custom keyboard as well).
It will crash as system app. Leave it in /data/app

Seriously? On a WFS? Must be a carrier thing... I used Swype for a while, but I had to actually install it
Anywho, it started to crash, or not work at all at a certain point, so I uninstalled it.
Swype
I'm on a stock 2.3.5 Europe ROM and it is not there from what I can see. Just double checked by holding down the google search box for the input method prompt and nothing happens. I tried installing a Swype APK but starts to crash as soon as I enable it. I would't mind having it though, i got used to it...
You have to delete the stock swype and sign up for there beta

Did it come preinstalled on your Wildfire S or the phone you obviously seem to be texting from which would be a Desire HD?
Although I did quite some research myself I haven't found a way to integrate swype in the wildfire s stock rom yet...
It came pre installed on my MetroPCS wildfire s

I don't know about you, but I can type a lot faster the hole words with 2 fingers compared to swiping.
Thanks Guy's
I will download swype when i figure out to flash a custom recovery on this phone.
(Its soo hard) Compared to my other samsung phone
It's so confusing with all the drivers and stuff. I wish i could just use ODIN because that's 100% easier.
I've never used swype, I don't know what features it offers, apart from ummmmm, swyping(?) but I'm using this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cootek.smartinputv5&hl=en
Has the same type of thing, sliding your finger to write, and other features. I like it, find it good, but as i say I've never used swype, so can't compare. Sliding does take a bit of getting used to though...

you just have to practice. If you try and be super precise with Swype, you wind up losing a lot of time compared to just tapping everything out and letting the spell check handle it. Swype is certainly not perfect but I've been using it for about a year now and the only reason I go back to the aosp keyboard is the terminal, Swype acts weird on it...

Swiftkey 3 is much better?
I find Swype to be the best for me. Register at Swype.com and they will send you the download link. The various apks that I downloaded over the internet did not work for me.

Ok, how?
It would be personal preference if you ask me. I've tried all the ones that are offered on the Android store and still keep going back to Swype. The keyboard is great but the best feature that I find is that you can totally mess up a word and 9 times out of 10 Swype will pick the correct word or give you a choice of words with the word you were trying to type being 1st or in the first row of choices.
Installation is easy, just go to the website and follow there instructions, its a total walk through. :good:
Had Swype on my old Epic and my wife's LG Optimus S when she had it. Tried it again last night on my GNex and I can honestly say I like the stock keyboard better.
Like the previous poster stated......persoal preference.

I have used swype for a few months now, and i just cant use the normal keyboard again!!! Once when I was installing a custom ROM, i faced a problem with the installation of swype, and I just stopped msging or chatting with anyone that day!!
and I can even swype without even looking at the screen now!!
But in my opinion, u can't do the same on a normal keyboard coz u cant feel the keys!!

Swype is good at spell correct but Swiftkey does predictions better than anyone. So while you are swyping all your letters, I just type one or two and hit space
The select all, copy, paste short cut in Skype wins hands down!

i must have different Swype because mines all jacked up...had been for a while. Basically since flashed jb. Anyone have a better apk than the Swype site
*This Jedi master be a Ninj-ESS*
+1 Swipping! I've been using it since the Windows Mobile 6 ages (HTC Touch Pro) and I can't use no other keyboard since then.
All about preference. I used to use swype beta, but have been using SwiftKey 3 for months and haven't looked back. That said, swiping is great, but I rarely type more than two letters before SwiftKey predicts my word.

Newest Swype beta worked fine for me on 4.1 but I got rid of it as I'm actually more use to the stock keyboard now.

Hi,
Is there anyway to have the ICS keyboard on the JB Rom? I don't like the keyboard of JB..

Its the same problem. I will learn this keyboard, after a week it would should go

My friends and I think that the JellyBean keyboard is so much better than ICS's, actually. When I was running ICS, I actually downloaded an application called JellyBean Keyboard. I recommend learning to use it rather than downloading a 3rd party application since it slows down the system!
Hi,
I may have solution for your problem. I've installed Set Locale (google now issue), and it changed my keyboard to an ICS one.
I really want to use a JB keyboard, so is there anyone who can help me bring it back?
I have uninstalled Set Locale, did a restart, cleared cache and data for HTC Input, and I really don't want to factory reset my phone.
