I don't know if it bothers anyone else but who came up with the idea of having charging port on the side?
It makes virtually impossible to watch videos fullscreen while the phone is plugged as usually I need to lean it against something and watch with other people. I could just turn the phone around to have the port on the top but the fullscreen videos doesn't turn around as full screen always flip to the right.
Never had problems with my Desire HD as it has charging port at the bottom which is the best place I think as you can turn the phone around with no problems ;p
Is there any way to turn around flash videos?

I just turn it to the left so that the power is at the top, I'm on a custom rom

Yeah it works with YouTube designated app as it rotates every way, but it doesn't rotate for anything else, like when I'm trying to watch the Olympics of BBC website or any other streaming video from different websites.

I use tv catchup it rotates both ways http://static.tvcatchup.com/android/TVC_0_40.apk

flash only allows one way rotation (to one horizontal side not the other) however if you just zoom the webpage so the video fits into it perfectly, then the internet browsers rotational controls will come into play, and should let you rotate all ways.
theres also some apps on market that will allow you to force orientation as well
I've just got this phone today and found this problem irritating as hell as soon as I plugged it in at home, but I've found an app on the market which solves this issue called "Ultimate Rotation Control" by "FaMe IT" (sorry can't post the link as I'm a new user) it's only a 7 day trial version and full version costs £1.69 but it's better than nothing. If anyone has a free alternative please let me know!

Hello this is just an idea and I hope someone could comeup with something to do this. Now I know that you can install other 3rd Party apps but I like the idea of the three finger swipe and your video popping up on your DLNA capable smart tv or computer client, but after some googling around I couldn't find anything.
So I was hoping I could give someone the idea to create something like this that would trick the phone into sending data to another device than the MediaLink from HTC. Although if I haven't searched around enough and have missed something please could someone point me into the right direction.
Thank you very much
Steven
i dont think it "sends" it merely streams them

Yeah, thats what I meant!
The One X does support DLNA and the music, photo and video apps have a play on function so you can stream to any DLNA device. This principle works fine for my WDTV. Just no gesture which isn't a big deal really.

Hey guys, I dunno if any of you tried to play Asphalt 7 on HOX, but when I try to play it with my G Sensor to stear, it's really messed up.
I've already made a new calibration of the sensor, but still it's not drivable...
Now I have this new high end phone, but my games are lagging and the controls dont work.

Same for me also! Maybe wait for updates not good for a paid app!!

I had the same problem so I changed to touch control

Asphalt 6 is the same for me, I have to use the touch controls, but this take alot away from the game play.
Same for me. I m waiting for an update that solve it. I will try in touch mode.
yes its the games' fault, the problem wasn't there in the leaked beta of A7
GL insists on screwing up its games for the One X
Yes, Its what he said above. My car had a mind of its own and more than often the steering would stick. I will try the touch mode, but motion wasn't fluid at all.. I didn't expect this after downloading a 1.4 gigabyte game....thankfully over wifi....
Hi all!
I'm currently working on a project about latencies in image and video transmission.
my question is:
Do I have the ability to simulate a camera image or video on real hardware?
i through about a link (assuming root) something like:
ln -s /sdcard/image.jpg /dev/msm_camera/msm_camera0
or feed the real cam with a stream or a picture.
Is this possible?
kind regards!
Sounds interesting but what are you going to use it for?

I also am curious how you would do this, people do this on the computer all the timedo if you've seen how they do it on chatroullette sometimes
I recently rooted my HTC Evo 4g and used the rom Milestone 5 by Team Kang. So now the phone is Android 4.0.4 and the kernal is 2.6.38.8. When I go on my browser to watch movies online, the videos are all white with green and red streaks running around the screen. I can't see anything, but when I flip my phone upside down to rotate screen, a brief frame or 2 appears for a second and returns to the previous problematic state. But for some reason it works with youtube. Please help.
Thats a common problem with YouTube and ics. Driver, kernel and hw issues

I had this issue when I was using my 360 on an HTC Desire. I really hated the build in photo viewer app, so I disabled it in settings. Every time I went to customize the watch face it ended up crashing. Once I realized I had disabled photos (or whatever the stock photo app is called) I re enabled it and then custom backgrounds worked. Kinda dumb, but I just didn't think about it since I had been using other stock watch faces and Facer before this.
