Stock TW "double tap" home hardcoded in ROM, I need a developer's help - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I have installed Gooogle Now on my stock rooted Touchwiz ROM from the famous Google Now thread.
My only issue is something is hardcoded in the ROM to not allow me to change what app double tapping home starts. There are no apps on the market that say they can do this that work either. I have tried them all.
My issue now is that if I double tap Google Now's "Voice dialer" only shows up which is an activity within the Now application. I have turned s-voice off as I think Now is better. So basically double tapping (which is also the same thing as holding down a bluetooth device's button for voice search to come up) I can only tell it to call people using the Google Now app. Other people on AOSP ROMs can get the full Now Voice Search to show up when double tapping but something in Touchwiz always defaults it just to the "voice dialer" instead. If I uninstall Now I get an option on double tap to choose s-voice or the normal ICS voice search so I know it can be changed but that same window does not come up asking which default task to use when double tapping with Now installed. I have cleared all defaults also, and that window still doesn't pop up.
So something in the Touchwiz ROM prevents me changing what double tap does, or it is something in Now, but I find that unlikely since other people with other devices (even the SII running touchwiz) can change the function.
Any help would be appreciated.

Toggle between apps

Searched, didn't find answer. Is there any way to toggle between two apps I'm using without going through multiple steps? I'm currently having to hit the home button, go to advanced task killer, selecting the app that is open that I want to go back to and selecting switch to.
I would rather have something like using alt-tab on a windows desktop of laptop. Even better would be like wktask for windows mobile where it shows the open apps at the top left of the screen and I just tap on the icon for the app I want to go back to and it goes right back to the screen I was on previously in that app.
just hold the home button until the 6 recent app list pops up?
Oh, recent apps, can't believe I didn't think of that. Thanks.
Another option is Multitask Manager. It lists all running apps, as well as recently closed apps. You can set it up to where long-pressing the find button will activate the app.
MultiTask Manager
I think recent apps is perfect. Don't want to make it more complicated. Quick, easy, and simple without adding another app. Although is there an advantage over advanced task killer? I guess I was overthinking the problem and looking for a better software solution when I already had discovered the hard button option, just never used it when I needed it and forgot about it.

Issues With Voice Talk Since OTA 2.3.6 Update

I recently updated to 2.3.6 and everything is great except Voice Talk. I know many of you know what I'm talking about. Double tapping home to bring up Voice Talk no longer works. Also, "Auto-start listening" does not work no matter if it is checked or unchecked in settings. There is not an option in the settings to toggle double tap on/off, I know the long press on search works but I use that feature for Sound Hound. Any suggestions?
If you found a double tap home on/off toggle in settings somewhere and you have 2.3.6 installed, please reply with a screen shot and tell me where you found it because I have looked everywhere and I don't see it.
Long hold the search capacitive button

Does anybody know what happened to Quicklinks?

Our phone has a feature called Quicklinks, whereby if you pressed the search button plus a hardware keyboard key, you could quickly launch applications (i.e. search+e = email app).
Now, a bug in the software meant that the phone would sometimes think the search button was constantly pressed, so you would open the keyboard to answer to an SMS for example, and find yourself launching an app instead. The only workaround was to use the on-screen keyboard.
Before, in GB, this functionality could be disabled by going to Settings->Applications and disabling QuickLinks. This made the problem go away.

Enter ICS. The feature, with the same bug is still there, but I cannot find the QuickLinks entry in Settings->Applications. I've looked everywhere and I cannot find it.
Does anybody know where it is or how to disable it on the unusable official build of ICS?

Can't see full screen in Google Maps

Is anyone else having the issue of their on screen nav buttons cutting off part of the google maps screen? When I'm navigating I can't see the ETA section or hit the 'X' to close navigation. Really annoying. I'm wondering if it's a maps app issue or possibly the ROM I'm using somehow. I'm on the latest ICE custom ROM. Also, it might be related, but when the pop up asking which app i want to use for various options pops up (ie when I click a number to call it asks if I want to use phone or skype) I can't click on the 'Just Once' or 'Always' option because it makes me hit the nav keys (even though I am hitting the 'Always' selection). Thanks for any help.

Disable Firefox Search

I have disabled Google Now (I did it on my previous m8 too). Its not something I use often, if at all, and especially back on the m8, swiping up and activing it by accident was irritating.
However, on the HTC10 after disabling google now, it seems to have been replaced with Firefox Search. Or rather, Adblock Search since I use Adblock Browser, which is basically just an adblock specific version of Firefox.
Basically, when you hold down on the home button/fingerprint sensor, when it would usually bring up google now, it instead brings up a search page.
It isnt the first time this has happened. I managed to disable the search thing when I was back on Stock ROM, but since installing a custom one, I've completley forgotten what it was I did.
AH! I've figured it out!
It is a setting burried in the menus. In the settings menu I just searched for the word "draw" as I have a feeling it might be something to do with "draw over other apps". It isnt, but it lead me to the right place. Under "Default Apps" is a setting called "Assist and Voice Input" and it is the selected "assist" app. Click that and select "None". Done. No more annoying pop up menus.
