no idea about that, though. Possible that the touchscreen doesn't switch off properly and the speaker button will be activated?

alright, this has just been a quick shot. I'm not on CM7 atm and I can't recall everything. First of all: did you just flash CM7 or did the problems occur suddenly while you were already using it for some time?
2nd: reading this once again: waht exactly do you mean with "the clock options" are you talking about the clock & weather widget

Sounds to me like it thinks its connected to a car dock, give the USB port a good clean out. Something may be shorting it out.
Not sure about the clock but when my USB port broke on the s2 it did pop up every now and then.

speaker problem.
I had the same problem at one stage . the solution I found was to use android assistant (or any app capable of uninstalling system apps) to remove carhome.apk which is found in the System/app folder. that solved all my problems. I believe this app was falsely picking up car mode or something. anyway, whatever it was is fixed now that I deleted that.

I was thinking exactly this.
When I press the home button this screen appear, instead of the default screen of the launcher.

I cleaned the USB connector, but I can't find this carhome.apk... And the problem is still on
Edit no2: i flash another rom and nothing changed...

Look for something like CarHome.apk, it might be either in system/app or data/app. Find it with root explorer or similar.

should be in /system/app in CM7 - don't forget to clear the dalvik-cache (with Titanium Backup for example - or CWM)

May as well clear the data/data left over of it too

Hey everyone i'm pretty new here but I already have my rooted stock froyo 2.2 rom thx to you xda devs. I was just wondering was there a way to get the stock lock screen (like you slide to the right for unlock and left for volume) without disabling the sense? Any help is appreciated. Thx!

constructive.
As mentioned above you could try removing htclockscreen.apk, however it might be broken. Maybe try to flash one of the fixes from 2.1 and see what happens? Just nand. And yes, maybe themes/apps is the best spot for this.
Yes you can just remove the htclockscreen.apk... I did it last night after I flashed the new ava rom.

So do u have the vanilla lock screen now that u removed the htc one
I just removed my htclockscreen.apk and rebooted to test it out and I now have the vanilla lock screen. hth
One thing when you do this but...
Only thing about removing the htc lock screen is when you do this and you set your alarm you wont be able to shut it off. In 2.1 anyway. I dont know about 2.2. Can someone try this and see if it still holds true?

Should have known it was too good to be true. I tested the alarm and was unable to turn it off. Thanks for the heads up.
You have to set the alarm using the stock clock. I am looking for a vanilla 2.2 DeskClock.apk. Does anyone know where to get this?
I also tried flashing the vanilla lockscreen/clock from my previous fresh1.01 install but the clock app is a little messed up. Alarm works but there it force closes somethimes and has gibberish where some sort of info should display instead. Probably do to the tweaks to the apk's in fresh not working right in stock roms.

Does it seem to work properly in terms of sliding it to unlock? I'm not sure, but I think on 2.1 you still had to pull it down to unlock instead of sliding it to the right, which resulted in a weird animation problem.
Edit: Really, I wish I could just theme the Sense lockscreen to look like vanilla. I love the ability to pause music, manage calendar reminders, and use the Sense clock for alarms.

Astro isn't that great for modifying files in /system/. Try installing Root Explorer, there's a button mount /system/ in read/write mode (aptly lableled "Mount R/W").
If you don't want to spend the money, you could use ADB to get rid of it. The command would be something like
"C:\android-sdk-path\tools\adb.exe del /system/app/HTCLockscreen.apk"
Be sure I have the right path to the apk file because I'd hate to mess things up for you. Also, if there's an .odex file, get rid of that too.
Anyone using the vanilla lockscreen, does it look like it should?
For 2.1, it was broken by default. Here's a screenshot of the bug.

Yeah, that's actually the page that I got that image from. I wasn't really clear in my post. I'm only asking if the vanilla lockscreen in Froyo still suffers from that same problem it had in Eclair. I was just curious because I don't have access to my phone right now. From people's responses, I assume it works just fine (apart from the alarm issue, of course).

Thanks doesn't hurt....
Bumping because I just had this same problem with a Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 international from Telcel in Mexico running stock ROM.
I literally didn't even know of the existence of Screen Filter until now, so what worked was stopping every single app that was drawing overlays: Facebook inbox, GO Power Master, SuperSU and Battery Mix (it draws a discrete little bar at the top of the screen indicating your remaining battery). Now it works all fine.
The lesson here is that if you can't install .apk's, you have to disable EVERY SINGLE APP THAT DRAWS OVERLAYS, starting with the ones you currently have running, then the ones that could draw overlays: in my case, GO Power Master draws one when the phone heats or when battery runs low, SuperSU pops the kdesudo-like dialog, and Facebook inbox has pop-up Chat Heads.
I had to close out Halo.. That was the app that over layed

I would not recommend this app. I tried it. It worked but after reboot my phone I ended up in boot loop. It mess up with the build.prop. So if you don't have recovery it will be pain to restore phone to previous state.
This app worked well for me. Just the placement of the on screen keys would sometimes get I am the way of the software keyboards lower left and lower right most keys. But overall pretty good.

well the thing is that with the original post that i put you dont need to do any build prop mods its just installing the apps, but if you want to do the LMT launcher with removing the soft keys its been posted on other threads but ill repost it. Also i dont if a moderator can move this to the app section i posted in wrong place.
Here's what I did:
1. Root the phone with my bootloader still locked.
2. I installed the LMT Launcher app and configured the PIE controls
3. When the PIE controls are all set, I installed the app "Fullscreen Toggle"
4. Fullscreen Toggle gets rid of the softkeys but keeps the status bar on top, which I think is good.
5. I also prefer using Browser vs. Chrome, so Installed Browser apk using the instructions in the other thread for that.
Now, when I browse, I have the full screen, when I exit the browser, I no longer have wasted space by the softkeys taking up space.
I have to say, I love LMT Pie control, its fast and intuitive and its even more convenient to use the phone one handed with it. This made all the difference with this phone.
This is exactly what im doing didnt have a chance to do it yesterday, one question you got stock browser to work cuz it seemed like nobody had it working. Did you follow the instructions from the link I provided.

[Q] Is there a way to diable the power button from waking the Note?

I would prefer to only use the home button to wake my phone. Often I am hitting the power button when adjusting the volume.
Thanks!
Are you rooted?
yes
Simple solution then.
Basically, use an app like Root Explorer (I use Rom Toolbox) to go into your system files.
The file path for what you're looking for is: system/usr/keylayout/gpio-keys.kl
gpio-keys.kl is a key layout file. Editable with any text editor on your phone, however, be sure you save it with the same extension.
On the line that starts with "Key 116 POWER WAKE", simply delete the word "WAKE". Save the file (make a backup, TRUST ME). Reboot the phone.
All done.
I know this because I did it just yesterday when I kept cutting it on accidentally.

EDIT::: JUST tried this myself to make sure I wasn't putting foot in mouth HOWEVER. it didn't seem to work. It works with the home key... but maybe the POWER key is a bit different. Any input from anyone else?

Careful ...If you disable the power button wake feature, and mess up the file structure, you may not be able to turn the device on or off.
And a nandroid restore of the previous build will be needed.

Disabling the pwer button wont effect it from an off state. Also long press would still be intact so theres access to the power menu. You know I might be interested in this as well. Ill watch this thread unfold
I use an app that turns then phone off by gestures over the proximity sensor, or in my case when I close/open my flip cover. It's called proximity screen off pro and has an option to not recognized the power button being used at certain times, which you can set up.
Hope this helps.

I tried many ROMs but I've been mainly using Alquez CM 7.2 besides the first Marvellous CM10 and frankly this new version is really fluid and light on our old WFS.
It's really surprising to see how smooth and stable this first version is.
I have only one trouble with Viper4android who keeps asking to install its driver but the sound is working.
Driver 2.1.0.0
Enabled No
Status Normal
Processing No
And is there a way to silence the camera?

Silencing the camera may be illegal in certain areas. It is an option that is only in cm10.1 ; maybe there is a way to mod Settings and Camera... But I don't know it.

I see, well no need to waste time to mod the camera.
I created an empty camera_click.ogg with notepad and moved it to
system\media\audio\ui\
Et voila the camera is now silent.
But I'm still at loss with viper4android.
You need to install vfp drivers then reboot and everything should be fine even if it is telling you to install drivers.

@Elisa81 I must say I always had problems with Link2SD, I guess its efficacity depends on your phone... Making the partition after having flashed the ROM is not a good idea, but still you may try something : move back your apps to internal memory - delete some if space is needed - and install Int2ExtV2+. If all your apps are in the internal memory, it should work without problems. You can then uninstall Link2SD.
But the easiest method would be to reflash the ROM with Int2ExtV2+. If you do not want to redownload everything and all, you may use Titanium Backup which allows you to backup all your data and restore it. There is a paid version but the free version is enough if you just want to backup apps
Good luck !

Data bug is common problem for cm10 roms. About GPS... try GPS Status, download a-gps data, enable the app to keep the screen on, and wait, wait, wait... It can take a long time to lock. Usually it locks when it has detected about 8-10 satellites.
bug
can't set ledlamp in system->notification->energiewidget
it's grey
Drive Mode
I have issues with orientation lock. I turned auto-rotation everywhere, and it still rotates.
I suspect it could be related to Drive Mode - started appearing from time to time (I didn't turn it on nor do I have a car dock). I can't find Drive Mode anywhere in settings.

Yes, I turned auto-orientation off everywhere.
I've cleaned up the USB port with ethyl alcohol (with battery removed) and the issue seems to have subdued.

I must say I have no idea why this happens, cause I never myself disable orientation. Where did you turn it off, exactly ?
i cant seem to turn on the bluetooth....even restarting the phone did not help. it worked for the first couple of times..

There are a few places to disable orientation:
Nova settings > Look & Feel > Screen Orientation
Notification drawer toggle
System settings > Screen > Orientation
Since drive mode stopped appeareing after I have cleaned the USB port, I think it was a hardware issue. I have read elsewhere that if lint, dirt, etc short circuit certain pins in the USB port, the phone thinks it is docked.

Yeah it must have been a hardware problem cause I never experienced anything like this... And it seems like you disabled auto orientation everywhere.

Hey guys,
Thank you for the ROM, it is the best ROM for our devices I have ever seen.
Is there any way to fix Bluetooth and Google Maps flickering?

As we do not build from source, I guess it won't be easy to fix bluetooth... But we could try, at least
For Google Maps flickering... I don't think it is possible to fix it. This app is absolutely not made for our device, and, although that is very annoying, I don't think it will ever work fully on it. Maybe there is a bit of hope, as Google said they would try to give better support to devices with weak hardware.
Thank you for the answer!
Also, what would be the best Internal-to-External app for this ROM? I am using Link2SD and it works fine but maybe some other apps perform better / faster...
