I do gooling and find many ways to root but it do not work for my case.
I found that there're two best ways:
- Do flash back to 2.3.4 .042 and do rooted , then update via wifi to 2.3.4. .062. I have unlock bootloader then i think that i can not try this way.
- Other way, Go to fastboot mode and then enter recovery section, try to update rootPhone.zip . But when i enter fastboot command it say that you have to rooted your phone first!!!
What should i do now ? I don't want to go for ICS because of battery's time.
Anyone can have suggestion for me.
Thanks,
the only method is that unlock bootloader

hi roy56120, thanks for your comment.
But i think that you do not read my post, i have unlocked bootloader, but when i try to enter command in fastboot.exe folder , it say that i have to root phone first. Damn, I need fastboot to root but it requires me to roots first???
Fastboot doesn't require rooted phone. You need unlocked bootloader and correct drivers.
You can also relock bootloader and then make OTA update.

Can u suggest me another way to root my phone?
There are few threads asking the exact same question, and in those threads contains the answer, so if you have actually googled and not found it I am surprised.

dude, i have read all the thread you post. It actually does not go with my case.
arcording to those threads, I found only one way to root on my arc, re-lock bootloader and do root on 2.3.4 .042
But, the thing is, my arc can not re-lock bootloader :-S because of the method to unlock
Then flash back to .42 and try again.

HI Great Minds,
i have recently updated my arc from GB 4.0.2..A.0.62 to ICS 4.1.B.0.431.
i need to root the arc,
i followed so many methods like super one click, doomlord,s fast boot root method and nothing rooted,so i followed a thread, and did like that.
the procedure is, to downgrade to 4.0.3, 4.1.B.0.562 tft thro flashtool.
i tried to do the same, i din get the .562 tft for LT15i, every one advised to use LT18i 's .562 tft, i tried but results in the malfunctioning, all the process are getting force closed. again i tried repair phone thro the pc companion suite and it repaires the changes and now the 4.0.4 rom is working fine.. i need to root my device without flashing it. please help me in this..
Many Thanks in advance.

with all due respect, that was clearely the wrong process. you can root the 4.0.4 firmware in 2 ways
1) flash 4.0.4( no need in your case) nad then flash the stock kernel of 4.0.3(.562) then, use oneclick root and root your phone .if you want, flash back the stock kernel from 4.0.4
2) download the ready to root firmware from the below link, flash it through flashtool and then use oneclick root exploit for your phone (this file is nothing but the compilation of 4.0.4 firmware and kernel of 4.0.3)

Hi,
Did you try this method ? The ZIP contains all files needed : CLICK HERE
1. Flash LT15i_.ftf via Flashtool
2. Enter recovery by command: fastboot boot recoveryARC.img
( recoveryARC.img from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=169 )
3. Sets scripts assets: ENABLED
4. Flash RootXperia.zip via recovery
5. Reboot device and voila, done. Now device is rooted.
All crédits to the one who post it, i don't remember his name or his thread but it's a good method...

I have an Xperia Play r800x Verizon (zeusc) running on the Gingerbread 2.3.4 OTA. As most of you who also have the Verizon Play and 2.3.4 know, the 2.3.4 update is broken. This is my replacement Play, after my first one running FXP138's touchscreen died. So I've been trying to flash it back to 2.3.3 so that I can zerg rush it and get back on FreeXperia, but I've been running into an error in Flashtool when trying to flash R800x_3.0.1.E.0.88_Verizon.ftf:

I've been trying to root and upgrade for a few days; I need Ice Cream Sandwich to test an app I'm working on that uses fragments. Any known solutions?
Hi daft question but did you have usb debugging selected, also dont know if this might help Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773227 :fingers-crossed:
Is your bootloader unlocked?
Flash the kernel first, in flashtool, during the Firmware selection window, uncheck everything under Exclude except kernel, also uncheck everything under wipe.

No, this is a new phone. My last one's bootloader was unlocked, but they're not giving IMEI unlocks anymore, and I don't have the money to pay to get it unlocked. I read somewhere that it wasn't necessary to have an unlocked bootloader to flash between stock Verizon firmwares.

Hi Guys!
I'm sorry if this question has been asked a gazillion times, but I want to know what I'm getting into first as I am new to rooting.
I have a Sony Xperia Ion (LT28i) with Jelly Bean on it (4.1.2). I was simply wondering if the process outlined in this thread would work:

Once again, sorry for a repeat but I'm not exactly sure about what my firmware is etc.
Thanks!

yes that will work..go to settings>about phone> and you will find all the info abt ur software versions...u are basically looking for build number here..
Build Number is:
6.2.B.0.211
Therefore since it appears to be the most recent firmware, I can simply skip to the rooting portion of the guide correct?
Thanks, I've been hoping to get my phone rooted to get rid of all the bloatware.
You guys are awesome!
I have attempted to root the device to no avail. Does the firmware have to be flashed over? Or can I use the firmware currently on it. If it has to be flashed over, my phone does not appear to have drivers in the flash tool. Can I flash without installing a driver?

u have an unlocked bootloader or locked???
I believe it is locked as I have not done anything to the phone besides upgrading to JB from ICS. I used the Sony PC Companion to do so as well.
Edit: Bootloader is locked and apparently cannot be unlocked. (According to System info)

It tells me to use the display system check but it just gets stuck hanging at a white screen on my phone and the program does not continue from there. If you could tell me the version of the root program and which option to use, I might be able to do it, but I've tried a few different versions of it with different options. Not exactly sure what I can do.
Edit: Do I have to flash my firmware before trying to root? It doesn't say anywhere that I have to, however could that be what's not allowing me to root?

This method doesnt work with your .211 fw. Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460&highlight=root+211+ion
I've tried that thread's root method. All I keep getting is a screen that it pauses at basically indefinitely, and none of the other root options work.

Currently there is no way to root with locked bootloader. You need recovery to root at the moment and the only way to get one is to flash a kernel with recovery embedded in it, which requires an unlocked bootloader.

I'm on mobile currently so I could not see that. But that shouldn't be possible, all exploits (what we know of) are patched on 4.3 so the only way to get root would be to push files through recovery, requiring an unlocked bootloader currently.
I asked doomlord yesterday about if there were any exploits or tools and he said "No exploit currently works".
